Sorry for the late reply for your comments. Now you started "Moda"rating". I can undestand the way you write, more priority to English rather to contents. Does your company deal with English conversant clients only?. Does it operate in Sri Lanka? Are you from a family that speak only English at home?. Ha Ha. I've met a SriLankan Senior lecturer who studied in Gomarankadawela school now teaching in Australia. His pronounciation, grammer, slangs etc not perfect but the contents he delivers highly appriciated and this is his 4th work place overseas. So Pl do not jump up criticising level of English (This happens in Ex British colonies). I have no fear of making mistakes in English because it is not my Mother Tongue.

Hi me again I do not want to quote few members comments Following reply answer the most of the common questions Why I migrated to Australia?, I have not had any idea for migrating. How ever one of my work mate always wanted to migrate. I used to visit his agent with hime and agent suggested me to apply for it. I am here now. Anyway, I like the set up here. No Peons to carry the bosses bags, no dedicated workers to make tea for the staff. Every body have a work to do and everybody get treated same level. Comparing car prices and Nominal Income? This was the easy way to show the facts. If I went by disposable income there would be lot ot calculations to confuse the reader. I am not against anybody want to buy a car or own one. Person haven't had a car appriciate when he get a car such as treat. People who has been having cars from generations don't care about it because it is nothing new to him. Every house hold has a car in most of the so called developed countries such as having a broom or a cooking pot in a house hold nobody care about it. That is the problem most of the people think having a car is a achiving a another level in the social ladder which is wrong. I will answer other questions when I get a time.

Yeh, Yeh you are the only person who is completely perfect. Do you need the reciept. Mr "Mud"rater

I agree. You mean Bullocks putting there Bullock carts into the jam packed traffic moving @ 5kmph
-
I understand your point. I am very happy to hear above. What my question is why people spend so much money (compare to income) on junks without a justifiable reason. I know the attitude of the people in SL becasue I am one of them. Every body have a dream of showing off. I known most of their dreams, Wearing ties in 35 degree day and driving their Bullock carts into the Jam packed traffic with more and more Bullocks and their carts. Say average price of car is 2 mil Rs /[(50000 (say average monthly income)X12]= 3.3yrs Means 3.3yrs of total income need to buy a car Same Car in here(oz) is may be around 1mil Rs /[(average aussi monthly income 250000] = 4 months salary. But most of the peoplein Oz earning that moeny would go for 0.5 mil car (second hand). This not growing up. I am very sorry.

Good work and waste of time digging into the History

Is this a how Moderator writes or "Mud"rattler slings. Cheers
-
"Now stop wasting my time". Sorry mate I did not drag you into this dialogue. You just jumped in and quesitioned me about F1 racing etc. I did not waste your time. Go infront of the mirror an'd have a look who is wasting your time. I am finishing this debate, As our Great Teacher Lord Budda said," I ALREADY STOPPED, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO STOP" (from Angulimala Jathakaya)

No Arguments. I agree with you. That's what Govt Policies shuold do. Promote, facilitate and improve every body to use public transport. No offence for having a private cars, 4WD etc. But avoid the cities on busy times. It is not safe as a car to ride the bikes in the main roads. Thats why they adopted bike lanes recently (Aus). Other thing, such as provision of cycle lockers at railway stations, work places and shower facilities in work places promote the healthy and economical life style. There were some accidents before because drivers never used to deal with the Cyclists. But now there are more and more cyclist hence drivers become aware of them. I understand this is not possible in colombo right now. How ever I could see the imporvement on traffic control such as oneway street and development of pavements for pedestrians etc. We will get there some day. Cheers

Exactly Don, Great Memory, Yes indeed, Rather telling I like acting it does not matter SL or Ozzi. I try to ride the Push Bike to work when it is possible. My wife ride the bike to work at least every other day. Weekend 40km family ride just started last week. It is better for health, environment and for the family. Now everybody trying to buy 4wheels in SL(It is passion? rather than the requirement), there is no space for road widening due to high population density. It is up to you guys what you want. What we can see in here is increasing number of Cyclist, Walking to work and taking the public transport. I know what you see over there. I spent three weeks in SL during last Dec Holidays Cheers

Ok, Da Moderator stop bullshiting. Do not weep for humanity, weep for your self. Do you agree with the SL car owners putting rear spoilers on their corollas, Mazda 3, Civic etc is a useful mod?
-
Thanks for the Video. Question is why they bulit a car(one on the Video) like that and put a price tag if there is no Market? . Different people have different ideas and requirements.
-
You are so called moderator but the way you talk is intimidating such as "Haven't you heard of this things called Formula 1". I want to know have you every being to F1 races? Anyway, Do you know where I am living, It is under 4 Km from the Old F1 track . Hey these cars for petrol heads may be they using on the normal roads. Have you asked your self why people trying to import expensive cars & 4WD to SL that never can put on to 4th gear or go Off road. This scenario is much more accpetable than people trying to modify Honda Civic. When People have the money, technology and the proper garages they do what they want to. What I wanted to show in this post was, what modifications people trying and their achivements.
-
Sorry, I do not know much about technical terms. As you can see this has been done in a professionals and a top grade garage. I wonder anybody spending that much money for useless Mod.
-
Hi All By accident I came across this Commiunity TV programme(ozgarage.com) in South Australia. They put some clips on the YouTube are very clear and simplify most of the technological matters. Copy and paste link below on your web browser, you may be able see lot of cilps about Dyno testing of various cars enjoy

New Land Cruiser 200/202 Or The Porsche Caynne S Hybrid
Parak replied to malla's topic in General Automotive
Totally agree with your figures(2.7litre Engine). I have 2.7litre Engine does only 6.5 km/L. In highways it does nearly 9.5km/L if it is driven soft on the foot. -
Hi Faddy Do copy those pictures from the web or personally taking them from your camera. Anyway you trying to show us cream of the crop. What I want to see is what is your average fleet. I assume your fleet is what shown in the vedio of the following link. Yeh man, go to the street at office time and take a picture. Then we can decide what you mean by daily driven cars. Waiting for your realistic pictures. http://www.chowrangi...eally-does.html

Good work, You need that sort of power in highways for overtaking, pulling a horse float or Caravan or racing otherwise in SL condition to drive at max 70kmph any car is good. I beleive most of the car users in SL go for prestige, good look and resale value. Q5 and Q7 looks great on the road in the car parks much better than X5. I do not know wether it is common in SL if not many politicos and Malu Mudalai using it that is a good option. If you need the power, reliability and off roading it is the Land Cruiser. But hey I think lot of Politicos and similar guys use Land Cruisers. -

Parak replied to malla's topic in General Automotive
Hi, I have seen Q7 (7 seats) hybrids in Japan. There is another model call Q5 looks the same with 5 seats and this is the newest. You can do a search to find out the prices. I think Porsche is expensive compare to Audi -

Parak replied to malla's topic in General Automotive
Hi Sorry of jumping in. Wouldn't you consider Audi Q7 as an another option. That's the best looking AWD(4WD?) on the road. Porsche caynne is the worst looking AWD(4wd) I ever seen. Sorry I do not know whats your requirement wheather this to tow a boat , off-roading or just to curise in the city. If I was in Sri Lanka I would go for Q7 -
Thanks again, It sounnds like most of the Pakistan fleet is basically Corrolla size cars and smaller and there are some bigger as well. In SriLanka it is the same but I think smaller (Like Maruti) taking over the biggest segment of the fleet. It is amasing to see that different countries have different proportions of car sizes in their fleets. For example in NZ, Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore is a big car. In Austrialia it is a sort of avarage size but in canada same size catogorised as Medium and corrollas become a smaller cars. Cheers

Thanks Fady That is lot of work. How much does it cost to do that sort of decorations. Do not look like very earodynamic at all. My next request is to get a street photos when there is lot of traffic such as office times etc. Could you do that? Cheers
-
Hey mate, I would like to see the vehicles in your normal traffic. Like TATA trucks with all this fancy decoration and buses etc in India. Do you have them in your roads. Take Photos when the streets got trafic jams. Then we can see how many this daily driven cars on the streets. Thanks
