  1. FYI: The manufacturer tire size for starlet is 155/80/13
  2. Hi. I too have a starlet and recently faced a similar situation. Hope you have repaired it by now. The problem was in the clutch pump. we replaced the washers but the cylinder is too warn out. so replaced the entire pump with a Japanese model. If you wan't more details and places please PM me.
  3. I too was searching for a car for the same range. And bought a starlet ep91. If you want any info about starlets Im here. Im happy with it. bacause it fits to my requirements. and also good on fuel consumption too.
  4. Exactly what I have in my car. a ep91 too. It came after replacing the entire steering wheel rack. with some bushings in front arms. When we plugged the new bushings for the arms the guy have put them in the wrong way. so we had to remove them again and re insert. The "BAS" said that these bushings cannot re insert several times. it will give a sound like rubber squiring sound and the sound came eventually.
  5. I saw them at sun Lanka. just have a look at there website.
  6. Watched both these....excellent
  7. Thanks ."Kmeeg" I too needed these info. If you wan't a cheaper solution S#n Lan## does some brand called sican. Its lot more cheaper and they gives a 5year warranty. Don't know about the quality though. Goggled and found the manufactures website too. It also have some features that 3M tint has. Any other members using these brands. ?
  8. Decarbonization With Water ???

    Is this Ok ?
  9. Lol. Thanks mate. My concern is will the leak will be ok for few years after its repaired. do you now how the cost will be roughly for the kit.
  10. Today I went to do the wheel alignment and it seems like there is a slight power steering oil leak. and it have effected to one of the front side bush too. Is it good to put p/s rack seal set and mend it or replace the entire rack with a good recondition one. recondition one will cost like 14k. Any comments on that ? White is too good but not planing to go for white. But It will cost less compered to other colors. While i was hunting for a car, I saw "Yellow-green metallic opal" car and "Light blue metallic" one. they look very very nice to me. Think they are original colors (http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/toyota/starlet/1997_12/4656/ ) The current color is faded. and there are scratches and some other marks all over the body. Its clearly visible the original state of the paint is preserved under the ducky door. which is dark blue metallic and it too beautiful. Im going to light blue metallic because no need to worry about RMV and Its too nice. Still even hadn't had time to do the cut and polish. Alloys will come little later like in next year. Currently i'm happy with the new rim cups. This one have 175 size tires, in next tire change going to put 155/80R13 which is manufacturer rerecorded. But if budget allows I'm going to put glanza front buffer with fog lamps it adds a entire new look in front.
  11. Thanks Sampath. Found some catalogs some ware else in AL but the links are dead. Also are there any user/ repair manuals. Cant find them any where. followed the AL threads too. But no luck.
  12. I'll post some pics,,,, Waiting till the cut and polish to be done.
  13. Hi All, Thank you for all your replies and helps... At last I bought a EP91 starlet. for a reasonable price with good condition. It was very hard to find a good specimen. Almost all of them are abused by users. they want only to ride no maintenance. In Some cars engines are worn out. some had accidents, some are modified removing original parts..... MT are very less numbers in this model. However I'm happy with the current choice. Only thing is the paint I don't like the color much. Hope to change the color to a Light blue metallic. Will have to ask questions on that..later.
  14. then Kei are too off the list. In this case I'll have to re consider about the auto gear ones (starlets). coz there are so much of them I haven't actually got a chance to drive any auto gear ones even I've been driving for 10 years now. Are they good than manual. What is your opinion.
  15. saw a Suzuki kei kar with 660cc engine.. I think I've read somewhere in AL the 660 engine is not enough much. and does bad on fuel. anyone who knows about them. Its ok with less performance thing thogh. Thanks for your replies fellows. I'm too fed-up searching "starlets". there are plenty of auto gear ones but few manuals. and the condition of the most vehicles are not acceptable. Some people use them just for drive. No maintenance. English plated ones are expensive hmm..
  16. Hi fellows, Went to see some cars. the last one we visited is a English numbed (GD 1996 )starlet. dark blue. engine is in good shape. have done 180000+ full option signal air bag. no alloys. not tinted. Interior not that good. not all electrical components are working. body is ok but i don't like the color. is it ok to pay 15 for such a car. ? owner is asking at least 15.3 in a summery the 97 301 car has replaced the steering wheel with air bag ? maybe a accident didn't even bother to visit. quoted quoted-quoted price 13.75 other one was a 301 full option starlet. it is vobeling while driving. didn't talked about a price for that. owner hasn't even used coolant in radiator quoted price 15.35 somebody please tell me what will be the service interval for starlet petrol. 5000km ? any thoughts.
  17. Thanks don, Viva Elites..good option. but I thought they are in my very upper margin and to spend much less and have something saved so I can spend on other "plans". Our decision now is to go for a one between 11.5 to 14. That is one reason I drop the CE110 idea too....
  18. The reason is my father will be assisting me buying a car and If I want to stay in the same home "Kanak ahila" I'll have to stick with toyota. But for some reason he is ok with the kelisa. Maybe some one have told him that its good. @Chan5 I've made my mind to go for a petrol. and a small hatch. Coincided CE110 and others earlier and with AL members feedback and my calculations. It'll be a Petrol. So thats why the list have now only starlet and kelisa. Have to inspect them also considering the prices. Seems like have to stay till the weekend. AL is like a school for me I leaned a lot from it. Thanks guys, you people do such a nice job.
  19. Thanks Clark's son I once drove a alto 2006 for about 2 hours and it wan't unconformable. Leg space was ok. Hope starlet too will be ok. I saw you feedback about starlets in other threads. Currently my preference list is 1) Kelisa 2) starlet Still turning the head towards diesel once though. If its a diesel I'll do more kms like 1000 Hope to see some vehicles this week end as I'll be busy during the weekdays. So will have time to think more. the starlets (97) I found were higher in price than kelisa (2008) and no any options at least power shutters. maybe that's one reason they ask cooperatively low price.
  20. Chan5 Wow this is really valuable to know. Found some good looking ones in gampaha. They may be the same like in colombo. Carina will be in my upper margin. Not a good idea to spend all what I have.
  21. Yes that Is . Poor people. The fun part is they still expect the same value after so many months.
  22. Ya. I too saw that. I saw in many places that every one gives marks for kelisa. I'll too give my top priority to it. Other than its Odd look of the back. Hope to visit to see some cars tomorrow. Will update you guys. Keep on posting ....
