  1. Thnks Rumesh88, I will try this. I have this scanner tool designed for 1zz-fe toyota engines and couldn't see any trouble codes stored in the ECU. ( not sure whether it is capable of reading transmission related codes) BTW any idea of the new TFT sensor price?
  2. No Asrock, reverse gear is working normal. no delays in other gear changes I did a full vehicle checkup from Toyota Lanka before buy it and the mileage is genuine,I own this car almost 1.5 years and done more than 15k Kms now. the only repair i did was changing the spark plugs and value cover gasket. this issue came last week. No Under body damages. Yes Rumesh88, I did that too. without OD the other gears are engaging normally. after few mins when i turn on the OD nothing happens, The last gear is not engaging. But as i mentioned earlier if i change the gears back and forth couple of time its working normally again most of the time. And No delay when when you floor the accelerator or the 1st gear.
  3. Hi Guys My Car is Toyota Premio 240/2002 1.8L 4-speed automatic tras. (Not CVT) 120K on the clock. Recently its not engage the last gear while driving. this is happening intermittently most of the time morning, and sometimes its shifting normally. If i stop the car and change the gears back and forth (P - L ) then the problem goes away most of the time. Previous owner said he did a gearbox oil change before i purchased the car but not sure about it. The gearbox oil level (engine running and Hot) is normal and the color is bright red, no burnt smell. do i need to change the oil ?? or anything wrong with a sensors or gearbox itself?? Really appreciate your help Thanks
  4. Rumesh88/Davy can you guys recommend a place for full fuel system clean up for Premio 240. 2002. 120k milage Thanks

  8. Hi guys I have 2002 Toyota Premio 240 (1.8) and the wooden finished center console cup holder lid is damaged.( damaged veneer sticker ) I think both Allion and Premio share the same interior plastics. does anyone know a place to repair the panel or to buy a new one. (brand new or used part). Really appreciate your help Thanks
  9. Yes Davy, The battery was disconnected for about 2, 3 minutes due to some other repair. Thanks for the tip. i think i saw a similar post/ how to re calibrate premio power windows on AL and will try that 1st. Thanks
  10. Hi All I have toyota Premio 240 2002 model and I'm having a issue with power window switches. all windows are full auto and now they are not working in auto mode. i can roll up and down them by pushing the window switch but the auto function is not working for all windows. also the power window switch lights are blinking in all doors. I had a issue with my driver side door switch panel sometimes back and replaced it. now im getting this issue. Appreciate your help. Thanks
  11. anyone know how to repair toyota premio 240 illumination dashboard lights. few smd leds are not working.
  12. Its very hard to replicate the issue in this rainy weather . Injectors and seals are good. Tune up done recently. Its been 3 years since i bought this car. used daily without any problems. so im not sure it is re wired to separate relay in somewhare else in the car.
  13. it was the power steering rack as Harshan said. had to replace with recondition one.
  14. Yes Davy. started without main relay. heres my observations Removed Engine Main Relay - Car started as usual, can hear fuel pump working for 3 secs before the start Removed EFI/F-HTR Relay - No start. Crank only. Removed Starter Rely - No Crank, No Start. can hear fuel pump working continuously. so its seems like main relay is not working and bypassed somehow as you said. didnt have a chance to replicate my original issue. but im thinking i might need to check this relay problem 1st. i heard that toyota corolla and sprinters have separate fuel pump relay under the dash and tend go bad in hot conditions. but not sure if this model has a one or its exact location. if so its fits the symptoms, cause im facing this issue when the cars interior is hot and not having any problems while driving the car. (i always driving A/C ON). any ideas ???
  15. Is it possible to start the car without any issue or any warning lights after removing Engine Main Relay ???. cause i just unplugged the engine main relay and tried to start. car started as usual. is this means its not working already??
  16. I will check all 4 spark plug this weekend and let u know the results.. Thanks
  17. already scan the car Don. no engine issues or warnings found. (This is OBD I) , and the 'check engine' light didnt came up during the starting attempts . Can this be the Distributor (capacitors and Coils) ? and how to check that ?
  18. Thanks for the quick reply Davy . its cranking. and sometimes after 5-6 attempts engine starts. but like i said it will stop after few seconds. if i press the accelerator the engine wont respond to it. wont accelerate. sometimes engine sound like backfire. (not too hard/loud though). and the engine is vibrating/shaking during that few seconds and then stops. and the petrol smell. guess it’s because of the unburned fuel from tail pipe. I will check relays and fuses as you mentioned and see any changes. But my concern is this is not happening while driving the car in traffic. Which is much hotter inside the engine bay than under the sun.
  19. Hi Guys I’m facing this weird starting issue in my Toyota AE110 Sprinter. When I leave the car under the sun for too long, it doesn't want to start until the sun goes down or the car cools. If I park in the shade there isn't usually a problem. I have no problems starting the car in the evenings or first thing in the morning. somehow this happens when the car interior is very hot. usually with closed windows. sometimes car will start after 5-6 attempts and stops after few seconds. can smell the petrol and the sound is not like usual. sounds is like it doesn’t like to start at all. No engine warning light appears. one mechanic said to me it was due to bad distributer coil, but I didn’t buy it cause car is perfectly running in traffic in very hot daytime. when its starts it won’t give any issues. running perfectly. i have done below things recently. Toyota AE110 Sprinter 1997 - A/T 186K Mileage Engine and ATF oil changed recently Engine tune-up done recently (Cleaned TB, changed spark plugs and Air filter) No warnings lights or any other electrical issues No mechanical or performance issues (10-11 kmpl in Colombo) I’m assuming this is due to some sensors/computer box issue with the heat. (Computer box located inside the car under the AC Unit/evaporator). really appreciate your help on this. Thanks
  20. Thank you Harshan. will do the wheel alignment first and see if it resolve the problem
  21. Hi Guys My brother bought a 1989 Daihatsu charade g100 3-door hatchback and he’s having an issue with the power steering. The wheels are not turning left to right same amount. left and right turning circles/turning angles are different. when you fully turn the wheels to Left side (counterclockwise) its touching inside the wheel arch. can hear the “karas karas” sound. what would be the issue and how to fix it ? Thanks
  22. As per their specs, the battery takes 30mins to fully charge. not sure its 100% charge or not. but still im will not spending 30mins of my time in charging stations to run 150km even though its Rs.700/=
  23. guys, found another 2 options. Toyota Vios and Mazda Bj5P. both are 10-12 years old and reconditioned vehicles used by 2 or more owners. Hard to make a decision as im not familiar with European car before. does anyone in the forum got hands on experience in Fiats ? Thanks
  24. Thanks guys for the quick response. VVTi, i really like the style and options in the punto. what do u think about this. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=165084. seems like a very good car with very low milage. read some posts that Automatic gearbox having a comman issue. is it a easy fix ? also would like to know the maintenance cost (service) Thanks
  25. Hi guys My budget is up to 2.3M. I’m traveling appx 40km per day and looking for a reliable car. Japanese or European. sedan or hatchbacks. Previously used Toyota AE110. need at least 10km/l fuel economy but not expecting maruti or hybrid like figures. not much into Indian makes and hybrids anyway. Hoping to use this for another 4-5 years and not much concerned about resale value. below mentioned models are in my mind and don’t have much knowledge about their parts availability, Reliability or the maintenance/service costs. really appreciate your valuable inputs. Thank you. - Peugeot 406 D9 (Petrol/Diesel) - Peugeot 307 - PROTON Gen-2 (2004 or later Model) - Fiat Grande Punto (Diesel) - Renault Laguna (2004) - Lancer CS1
