  3. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-36099103 If this violates any copyright issues or any policies admin could remove this.
  4. Agreed. But he would hardly find a mid sized car with his requested fuel consumption.
  5. Toyota 121 is another option but newer 121 are beyond 3M.
  6. Hah....Hah....Haa......Don't do that with in the premises if you love your vehicle.....
  7. It seems there are large number of old Garage Pappas here who do not want to/able to learn any new thing and just playing their old is gold song....

  10. There is no point debating with you....When I ask you about real valid facts you just get annoyed and act like maniac. Actually I do not drag you in to this debate....you just come in.....then when I ask for real fact, you just get annoyed with out giving proper valid answer......you talk about battery dumping which itself has a proper answer.....and without doing proper analysis you just assume that saving of fuel is equal or less than spending on something else..... Remembering FROG IN THE WELL.......I say Good bye to you my dear friend......
  11. There is no point going on about kei as this topic is not regarding vehicle classification If you point out why you say so with valid reasons based on facts rather than hearsays or fear psychosis I will agree with you . Here you again miss the point. My point is based on long term benefits to the vehicle owners, environment. Let me be clear here I have no intention to sacrifice myself or other hybrid owners to develop local skills. When their tax is low and fuel efficient is high you can spend that saved amount to repair the hybrid specific problems. Why have not you included hybrid cars in to that list? As I mentioned above if you can list out valid reasons based on facts rather than hearsays or fear psychosis I will agree with you as I do not get any personal benefits from promoting/demoting hybrid/non hybrid vehicles. .
  12. If you really want to add kei cars we can add that(Personally I think it is not fair to include kei cars as those cars are in a different category....their engine capacity, their purpose, their safety all different) then it is number one in trend. I do agree. Then what is in the 2nd place ? ICE cars has a very good base but it has now been significantly challenge by new technologies. I do agree hybrid has not still mature enough. But is it a valid point to demote hybrids or other new fuel based cars like electric, hydrogen and helium ones if we consider their benefits over the ICE vehicles. If ICE cars are more efficient than these new vehicles it should be promoted but what I think is ICE vehicles have some what hit by a dead end....well they may improve it bit....I think that is one main reason behind why vehicle manufactures are looking in to other options like hybrid, electric, solar energy, hydrogen , helium. You have mentioned "but if Hybrids are the only current solution we have for now ?" It is not ONLY the current solution but it is one of the best practical solution so far available.....OR What else do we have ? I do agree with you regarding public mentality in car buying. But can we blame them for that? In a money oriented world people are looking to save a bit. So they tend to look for more profitable ways. The policy makers should grab that opportunity to make long term benefits to the country/world. That is why government should promote environmentally friendly solutions. Sadly that is not happening at the moment.(Government may have more short term issues to deal with) As you have mentioned earlier, there are issues with properly experienced mechanics and repairing places for hybrid and electric vehicles. But those issues might had been their when ICE vehicles were firstly introduced to the country. But now there are lot of knowledgeable people and reliable places around the country. Same thing would happen with hybrids and electrical vehicles....Of course first brave buyers have to suffer a bit.
  13. Some say that it has not been approved by the cabinet yet.
  14. Of course if you are going with pure numbers you need to add those kei vehicles...then you need to substract hybrid kei vehicles....and it can go on like that. My point is not that it is trend what I want to point out. Hybrids are not dead ends....People are not buying hybrids just because of taxes..... If this is the case what would be fate of those non hybrid cars ? I believe they would go down faster than hybrids..... PS: I am on the side of hybrid not JUST because I am driving an Aqua.(Actually after driving that I really understand how it saves the fuel wastage) I love that technology as it saves the unnecessary fuel wastage. That is why I believe this technology should be promoted as well as technology behind electric vehicles, hydrogen and helium vehicles. If ICE car can more efficiently save these fossil energy those should be promoted. For the time being I think what we have is the hybrid vehicles.
  15. According to the huge margin of hybrid vehicles to non hybrid vehicle on that stastistics it is still they are at the top 10 level(May not be number 1) even you substract those immediately de registered vehicles. By the way our vehicle registration during 2014 is not that high according to Department of Motor Traffic Statistics. http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/web/images/stories/document/fu14.pdf
  16. Just check the car sale statistics in Japan.....It would answer some questions posted here with THE FACTS not depend on heresay or imaginary things or fear psychosis.... http://www.best-selling-cars.com/japan/2014-q3-japan-best-selling-car-brand-models/ http://www.best-selling-cars.com/japan/2015-q1-japan-best-selling-car-manufacturers-brands-and-models/
  17. No need to get heated here friends....... No offence to any female members here but buying a car is just like marrying a woman..... Till you get what you like you would not satisfy however much others try to put some sense in to your decision....... We can say "why the hell that man has married such a woman but he may have his own reason....may be a stupid according to ones vision. Some may think economically....Some may think about external appearance.....Some may think about internal power.......Some may think about brand......Some may not think any of these and just love to own one...... And also both females and cars give troubles in similar way.....If you treat them well they would give less trouble but ultimately both give troubles ......Even you treat well some might give troubles due to manufacture defects....However much you examine you can not be sure that it shall not give you troubles........ And some may make your fortune while others may crush you to ground...... Only difference here is cars are much easier to get rid of.....You can resell it.....You can present it to your friend or to your enemy ......Even you can dump it....... but can you get rid of female like that........?????? PS--Just for the fun
  18. Just wait few more months till newer one comes...then the price will go down. On the other hand D7100 is also good camera. It lacks few features of D7200.(I can't remember exactly as I bought D7100 few months ago.). Anyway when it comes to good photography there are other things except the camera.....
  19. If you can not see a coolant leakage in the garage it may be a slight leakage happening when the pressure builds up inside the system. Check the system while engine is running-be careful. Specially inspect the connecting/joint areas.
  20. I am not sure about this.....there is some controversy going on regarding dual-clutch system of Gp5. Some say this is a failure. Better if someone can shed more light on this. I have driven both Aqua and Gp5(more Aqua and less Gp5). What I feel is Gp5 is bit lazy on picking up.
  21. Yeah.. You may be correct. Anyway these days there was not significant amount of permit issuing. It usually comes as a bunch in five years....that is the time permits might affect the vehicle price.
  22. Some tax payers get tax exemption...I met an engineer working in a reputed private company he said that they get 25% of tax concession. Earlier it was for every five years...then it was reduced to once in a life time. When it came to the permit holding government officers it did not matter whether they were paying tax or not. And I just found it was discussed here earlier. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/8725-income-tax-payers-permit/
  23. At least shall we discuss what would happen to the vehicle prices as a result of permit cancellation too ? We know what happened to the Montero Sport prices when permit holders imported those in hope of selling them with good profit margin rather than selling the permit.
  24. Even though we say it is FREE EDUCATION it is not that free. On the other hand those who have properly educated with free education have already not wasted that money which is allocated to free education. That is why some of parents say " Moo haduwata wadaa hondai keeppa wassek hada gaththaanam". But all these are not excuses to put a price on free education. They should give proper service to the country while they should be paid adequately.
  25. Permits to government officers were given because they are underpaid. Some tax payers were given permits to encourage them. I do not think that there would be any effect in cancellation of permits to parliamentarians as they might have already imported all the vehicles they need.
