Hi nawai.. my comment will remind your past for sure.. i recently bought at 192 auto. It is okay. But i need to improve several things. Emission test did not pass and managed to get it done by a slight modification to map sensor (ගොඩ වෙදකමක්). Also pick up is low. Was mr prasad good at your work? I mean was it corrected and no such malfunction came until u sold your car?

Hi all, I have the user manual of Carina at192 English converted one. It has everything.. if you have time and tools no need to spend time and money to garage bass or so-called experts. Those who want it please inbox..

Dear All, Could u please inbox or comment on a good mechanic who is skilled for automatic transmission? I need to get my transmission system bit optimised. Rasanjana mortors and nilwala motors are two such centres. Any idea on them? Or a better place? Appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Yes... check engine is working.. unlike OBDII cars mine has just a code set identified by blinking counts of check engine light. (OBDI). So no scanner port in my car. ECU and check engine seems working bcoz in test mode, check engine gives code 51 which is "AC is on" when I switch on my AC. Code 21 is fpr O2 sensor problem. If the ecu input from O2 sensor is normally open then for open connection it gives no alarm. I am going to short it and check. Will it be burn my ecu?
-
Hi all, I had noticed that my O2 sensor connector has been broken and kept open( with reference to the ecu). But no alarm was given. I want to know whether any alarm is generated normally when O2 sensor is removed.

Hi Rumesh, Indeed most of the part numbers are there except sensors related to efi, transmission etc. However knowing part numbers does not help for me bcoz my car is too much old and manufacturing have been shut down. If i can have the sensor performance details i can replace my old sensor with a matched common sensor.

Hi Devinda, May i know u still have that japanese version ? Of so could you please be kind enough to lend it to me? I want the oxygen sensor details of carina at 192.

Hi all, 1) Is there any great person who has the service manual of Toyota Carina AT 192? . 2)Or else if there are more guys who are still searching there is one in yahoo auction but the price is the issue. It costs around 9000 JYP. If we gather together we can get it for an affordable price and get copies. Your response is highly appreciated...

But the problem is i cannot find specs of the existing sensor which is out of products.

Dear All, I need to replace several sensors such as oxygen sensor and exhaust temperature sensor. But the problem is my vehicle is too old that it does not have sensor spare parts any more. But there are many common sensors that are designed for a range of vehicles, such as NGK. Could you please guide me how i select such a common sensor model which is marginally similar to my existing sensors?

Hi.. I have also the same issue.. My car is also at 192 and 1996 manufactured. My main issue is in the glassrun channel( inner door beading). Both front glass run channels are broken into pieces so that from each broken points air is coming inside with a zoooooooo noise, when drive in a highway. Were you able to find a place for your issue?? If so could u please let me know???

Hi Davy, Thnx for the advise.. anyone who knows of such a good, honest and skilled mechanic????

Dear All, I failed my emission test even after injector cleaning. Then i went to an ECU guy and what he did first was replacing O2 sensor. After than CO emission was 4.8 which is not acceptable. Then in order to improve the CO emission further, he modified MAP sensor by adding resistors in between map sensor and ECU. Then CO emission was 0.029%. However when i drive a steep hill road eg. Galagedara steep, i cannot pick up the car even after i peddle the engine to very high rpms ( 4000 - 4500). What i want to know is by modifying MAP in addition to improve CO emission and make the car fuel economy, does the acceleration capacity of the car reduce?? If so could you please let me know of a skilled genuine guy who does not these kind of modification but does as per maintenance instructions recommended by toyota? Thanks..

Hi All, I experience a lack of pick up of my car when i ride on a mountain.. Actually the car is fully pick up in normal roads and less steep roads.. but in a road with high steep I experience a less in pick up. Goes only upto 40km/h at high rpms.. I dunno whether this is a transmission issue or sensor issue I did following things to my car before I experience this, 1) Oxigen sensor replaced and also the repair person added some resistors in series to the MAP sensor. This improved CO emmission from 8.4% to 0.29%. 2) The TV ( Transmission Valve) cable ( Which is connected to throttle body and transmission system), had been sag. I connected a space in the cable's mounting bracket and fixed it as it is straight with a very little sag.

Dear All, I am going to give a full repaint to my car. I need to find a person/place who is very keen and skillful at it since during a full paint, all the parts including mechanical, electrical, interior and exterior body parts have to be removed and then refixed after the full paint. Therefore this person/place should have skill and knowledge on electrical, mechanical and body parts of the car (Toyota AT192). Please let me know of the best place in kurunegala or colombo. Your detail is highly appreciated. Ted

Hi all, I just bought a toyota carina AT 192 auto. It needs several improvements to be done. Mechanical and electrical both. Such as, engine vibration when sudden stop at traffic, engine vibration when AC is on, unnecessary noises when driven in a damaged road etc. Most repair centerd including Toyota lanka is not accepting this car due to obsolesence. Could you please tell me standardised quality places to make my car repaired? Your comments highly appreciated. Thabk you.

Hi aakalpa, The car (AT 192 ATM) I am going to buy had also kind of a problem. The existing owner said that eventhough the gear is selected to either D or R, the car takes several seconds to activate the forward or reverse movement. This time eventually had grown up to minutes. However when he went to a repair guy he had told him the issue of a valve and advised him to replace with a recon. gearbox due to unavailability of valve parts. He had replaced with a recon box under that repair guy and said now no such issues. However, I had a trial run I am not also 100% fit about the transmission. What my question is cld u please update me on your issue? Was this person Chandana able to solve your issue? Thanks.
