Where can I buy a gunk remover for electrical parts? http://www.amazon.com/Gunk-M1306-Wire-Dryer-oz/dp/B00200CBD2 Is there anything similar to this product available in SL? I am having hesitation in accelerating and I want to re-clean my distributor. The first time I was unable to remove some gunk/ hard slime like thing thats on one of the contacts. I was recommended to use the above gunk remover to clean it up properly. Any advice is much appreciated. I am also looking for a can of Di-Electric grease... Would electrical/ hardware shops have these products?

Oh.. yes thats a bit far I guess. I want someone knowledgeable to look at this as I dont want to lose the original Mitsubishi part. If it can be serviced I would prefer that option.

Hi, my lancer C12 alternator has stopped charging. I have been advised to replace it. Around how much does a new alternator cost? and where is the best place to get it? Its the pulley type alternator. An electrical guy i know wants to replace it with a 2nd hand electronic type alternator (will this work on my car?) . He says the price is 13500 Rs, and he will give a 3 month warranty... and connect it up. Any advice is much appreciated thanks.

Hi carboy2011, The car has been in my family since 1996. Very rarely used and always been a 2nd car. The car has never been in any accident but it has been through really bad roads. How would I check if the chassis bar is crooked ? or if the suspension arm is mis-aligned? Is there any place I can go to where someone can see it and give me proper advice regarding this? I drive the car with A/C and I get about 10-11 kmpl.

Thanks for the reply.. I will have to check if the tires are rotational type. anyway.. The thing is the tire is very badly worn out only at the outer edge. I have to replace that particular tire immediately as it is very close to seeing the threads (the car doesnt have a spare).. the three running tires are in good condition. The car wont be used until the tire is replaced (its not my daily runner). So I decided to flip it temporarily and bring it home.. just so that I can drive it to a tire shop and get the whole thing done properly.

As a temporary fix, since I know that there is a mis-alignment have have taken the rear wheel and flipped it and put it back on the same tire. Until I buy a new tire for the car. Once the new tires come in I will have to do the alignment and the balancing. Any recommended places to go to?

Hi Davy, Thank u for ur reply.... Yes the car was properly stripped. It was a proper full paint job even the main windshield glass was removed. The arm is properly secure. When I lift the wiper and move it not only strikes the beading, but also the plastic cover underneath the windshield glass. I took a good look at it just now and it seems to me that during the painting process the tinkerer has cut the body and attached a new piece there ( that area must have been heavily corroded). But he has made the piece about 1.5cm recessed into the car. The nut for the wiper arm is therefore recessed into the car as well as it is attached to the body. I just took it back to the shop to show them there work. They told me to leave the car for 2 days until they can redo the whole thing. What a shoddy job! I cringe when I see the scratched glass!!!

Is there tolerance for vertical adjustment in the wiper nut?

Usually wheel alignment is only done for the front 2 wheels right? Do they do alignment for the rear wheels? any recommended places for me to do this? I live in Colombo.

I recently gave my Lancer C12 for a paint job. After I got the car back the bottom part of the wiper arm (not the blade) started scratching my glass. This also destroyed the beading around the windshield. I took the car back to the garage and the mechanic over there told me that the nut that connects the wiper arm has to be pulled out more so that the arm does not touch the glass. He needs to carefully do this without breaking the windshield glass and asked me to keep the car there for a whole day. Is there any adjustment like this? can the lever nut be lifted so that the arm wont scratch the glass? I personally think that he has connected the wrong wiper arms to my car and now wants to start adjusting things inside. The car is old and parts are hard to find... any advice is helpful.

My lancer C12 (13 sri car) has excessive tire wear on the rear right hand side wheel. The car has not had any accidents and the rear springs and shocks are fine. Can anyone advise me on how to diagnose this problem? The wear is on the outer surface of the tire.. the inner surface has thread.
