temperature sensor and gear shifter faults
vag2 replied to Aeromotive Customs's question in Mechanical problems
what makes you think (as a proper trained Auto technician),that making coolant fan running full time will solve a gearbox issue? It can cause more issues, and may put the car in limp-home mode, where RPM is reduced to 2000. And below 2000, the transmission may be programmed to run no higher than 3rd gear. -
4WD System Service & ASC System Service Required : Outlander 2014 (Petrol)
vag2 replied to NFC's question in Electrical problems
getting many errors at same time could be related to wheel speed sensors which give input to both systems affected. But you need a proper scan to confirm.- 14 replies

premium cars Premium car with good fual consumption
vag2 replied to SanuA2's topic in General Automotive
eh,not sure I got the point bro. the top speed on the speedometer is not necessary defined by the engine power, but also if the car is built to be able to handle that speed safely with low load(ex: going downhill) And the A1 has better acceleration than the Alto, which is also a reason for the"premium" price. If only size ( or legroom ,no of seats) defines premium , a Prius will be more premium than a 911. -
Thank god the original engine is intact, instead of a Makabass jap conversion. Maybe suitable as a project /2nd car,not a daily runner or quick seller.

looks like ranked 3/5 in most reviews https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/mg-motor/zs but M!cro being the agents would strike two more points off.

http://pes-spdc.org/sites/default/files/protection_of_vehicle_dc_fast_charging_r11.pdf I am no expert, but it is a concern where electronic designers are looking for solutions. So a car intended for Japanese power grid with top-end lightning guards to stabilize transients may be damaged by our adhoc quality power grids and chargers.

yes it's quite possibly to be misled by size. Inside though the Alto has no electronic adjustable suspension,el power steering,ABS, ESP, Airbags, Speedometer until 200+kmph or even a Euro NCAP safety rating.? -
you are probably talking about the Trip switches, which has a time delay in the range of millisec. But Electronic components get damaged much earlier by transients, usually in the range of nanoSec.
-
yes its a city car for young people who want a premium touch. Highway should be okay even upto 150kmph. Does the suspension have Upper AND Lower Control-arms like the bigger Audis or just regular shock absorbers with coils(like Jap)? That would decide pretty much the handling and ride comfort.

driving in SL is stressful enough, AC helps calm down a bit. Additional Range-anxiety is a no-go for me. And did you know some cars could get damaged from lightning, when plugged into a home without Lightning protection (which is usual in SL)?
-
any idea what was the price and delivery time? With or without permit?
-
why do you want to buy an A1(Design,Privilege,Driving Dynamics...)?
-
not only features, the body design, suspension are completely different to a jap or Indian. Even without features like Abs,VSC,Airbags the Euros are less likely to skid or rollover, safer to drive than a tin can filled with electronic features.
-
you can buy a new Alto for the cost of a Xtrail gearbox,no mechanic in Sri Lanka can repair that.
-
lifetime of cooling and AC components could be reduced due to more frequent operation at higher temperatures compared to a vehicle driven in a colder country if using same components.same applies to hybrid batteries and electrolyte capacitors.

chinese parts are better "tropicalised" because they are from China? 1.Mainland China is not more "Tropical" than Inglostadt or Gottenburg 2.Although the Chinese multi-nationals are manufacturing, the mother companies are from West 3.Even it was a 100% Chinese supplier, the Temperature/Test specifications are given by the Car companies in the West One example is Chinese Manufacturer Geely entering the EU market Through the acquisition of Volvo, but that has not made Volvos sold in EU more "Tropicalised" acc.to your Logic. But the truth is everyone wants to save costs these days,so unless a vehicle is developed for a Hot-climate market like middle east, they like to keep the Engineering costs minimum by reducing the HW and SW variants.

Current influx of cars and point of saturation
vag2 replied to Sura1973's topic in General Automotive
having newer vehicles is a good thing, but the problem is there is no process to get 30year old vehicles off the roads(tax refunds,buy-ins,emissions and safety regulation updates etc are used in other countries to keep the car market moving) -
Not sure about technical issues. But the two rear tail lights are integrated into a single unit made of which looks like hi-strength glass. So if some tuktuk or a bike crashes into the back and make some small scratches,it will be damn expensive to replace.

the lead Engine of this generation Civic is the Type-R,it's a complete new Engine development with Direct injection instead of Port Fuel,Turbocharging etc. Others below that are just population variants. True ,the sedan 1.5L is more practical, but those thinking its the best new Civic are misinformed
