  1. Don't just believe in the hybrid battery capacity report. Some garages fix a gadget that shows good battery capacity despite battery being dead. Also some places make cut and bud with other model batteries(Insight,FIT). So a thorough visual check of the battery is also needed.
  2. Yes,because there is no mechanism to get 20 years old vehicles out of the roads. Instead of taxing vehicles with new technology during import, there should be a system to take out 20+yrs old vehicles with high emissions and poor safety features off the roads by making them too expensive to register.
  3. hmm, dont think it will last long then. These Cheap ebay ones dont do well against water, dust at this position. Maybe applying an additional strip of silicon glue at the joints might help? Otherwise the effort and money spent on fixing would be wasted when one by one the bulbs fail.
  4. Premium get 0.00675 Kms more per Liter than the non-premium. So after you drive 1-million kms you saved enough to by a Tuk-tuk.
  5. Two birds with one Stone, eh? Make sure you get water-proof seat covers incase it gets too wet?
  6. Mitsubishi diesel of these has fuel system electronics issues, not even the agent knows a proper solution.
  7. Maintenance costs vary a lot depending on the country. Referring a list from USA to make conclusions about SL is not a good idea. Many Euro users on the other hand have confirmed that it does not cost an arm and leg to service a Euro here in the long term. A good, old doctor can buy whatever he wants,in most cases he doesnt even have experience of driving a Euro. On the other hand if you are not sure, you can go to a car park of any big private hospital in the evening, you can count the ratio of Euro to Japs in the Doctor parking lot.
  8. The Toyota needs 13k every 5000km? What is the Engine? He doesnt do CVT oil change every 30000km,which is quite expensive but NOT necessary for Euros(AT,MT).
  9. Dude if you really want to save the environment take a scooty, tuktuk or Public transport instead of your weird "Glide and Wank" methods on the road causing heavy traffic jams behind you.
  10. No,Sri lanka has the worlds largest density of "thel higannas" as you can see from these discussions. IF mainstream Europeans(not UK or Norway, which are not really EU) cared so much about fuel consumption(~1.5Euro/L for Petrol and ~1.4Euro/L for diesel), all would be driving Prius now instead of the traditional Combustion powertrains.
  11. What buyers Focus on ; World Driving Pleasure,Technology,Brand Identity>.Fuel Consumption,Price>.................................................................................> Resale Value In SL Resale Value >Fuel Consumption> Price >.............................................................................................>Others (Driving Pleasure,Technology,Brand Identity)
  12. hmm, shouldnt the Car have a dashboard indicator which shows if brake pads are worn?
  13. is it coming from the wheels or the Motor Generator? Most of the braking happens in the Motor Generator, brake pads are very seldom used and even can have rust built-up on rotors as a result of non-usage.
  14. what was your last car,is this your first 660cc Kei-car? These engines are continuosly working at the high end of the possible performance curve and not designed to last until 300,0000kms like the 1.5L Corollas. I would think of it as a disposible item.
  15. without air flow(In Traffic jam),it could be normal. But not good for the lifetime of the components(Electronics,Battery..)
  16. Did you fix any cheap electronic gadgets recently? Usually this is result of EMI(Electromagnetic Interference). If so try removing it. Factory spec cars are checked for EMI during testing of design.
  17. Given the age, you will need to repair or replace the battery in both. With Acqua it is possible that its already done(or empty battery with some jilmart gadjet to show fake high battery capacity for selling), since the battery problem comes faster.
  18. so Vessel is a "Jeep"? I would not be surprised if Vessel drivers emboldened by this accident start driving recklessly like they have a BMW or Merc now..
  19. 3. you have many other ways to get this type of warranty. Not only Sterling mudalaali, also others like KOBE mudalaali , පරණ යකඩ කඩේ mudalaali and හන්ඳියෙ පෙට්ටී කඩේ mudalaali give such warranty..
  20. I think we need another thread to discuss about how "Tune-up" places Ripoff the customers.

    Prius hybrid battety

so you spent 100+50 thousand rupees to replace 1/3rd of the Prius battery?
  22. IMO problems would occur only if theres a short(to body etc) or the clamps come off during charging(unfavorable pulses to Electronics) Still why not remove the terminals of car while charging or even get the battery out and charge?
