Hi guys, gonna buy a new car (bad times, I know). Did extensive research on this forum all my possible options (nissan / toyota/ mazda/ hybrid/ non-hybrid etc.)
Starting a new topic cause Vios was properly discussed about 10 years ago.
Belta and Yaris are too expensive for me. Hoping to stay below 3mn (and those are mostly 1000 and 1300cc).
Nissan Tiida is a good option, but I heard (on this forum) it doesn't do well on fuel (8 - 9 in city). That goes for all nissans (bluebird, sunny)
Mazda is good (axela / 3), but I want a simple vehicle (but comfortable for long and short rides).
Zeroed in on Vios. People in this forum loves it haha. Calls it the reliability king. I like the exterior and interior. Looks simple enough to me with a grand enough look and good fuel usage (10 - 12?). People say most 121s and 141s are well abused by now (and they are expensive).
Can get one below 3mn but it'll be from 2003 - 2007. Some are 2007 but registered in 2010.
My question is, will I have to spend all my weekends in garages buying an almost 20 year old car with 100-150km done? Or am I better off with a 2016-17 Perodua axia (same price).
Obviously the Toyota will have the grand car look that I'm searching for. It feels like an upgrade from viva elite. Perodua axia does not.
Can get an 2007ish Prius for the same price as well. Again, will I have to spend a fortune on its delicate issues (ABS and stuff like that) as it is a much complicated vehicle than Vios. I'm gonna be going on trips etc. a lot. Prius feels too delicate once its in a gravel road.
P.S. I have to sell the viva elite as its my brothers. Keeping it is not an option.
