To get a duplicate you would need to file a police report. Tell them you lost the sticker, fill some paperwork and you'll get a new sticker in a week or so.

No experience with Willie's but heard good things. Also, Try Charlton Motors in Kiribathkumbura. Their prices are reasonable and workmanship is good. Get a quote from them. (0812222533) @tiv -

Need to try twice to ignite the engine when the engine is cool.
AVANTE replied to Snfonseka's question in Mechanical problems
Yeah I agree, not needed for a new car that works well. Cars that have passed the 10 year mark will find it useful though.- 9 replies

Need to try twice to ignite the engine when the engine is cool.
AVANTE replied to Snfonseka's question in Mechanical problems
Hi hi, it's like this. They clean the Throttle body fully inside out. Clean the injectors using a specific gadget that tests the flow rate and using an injector cleaner liquid like the Wurth product. Clean the spark plugs throughly using this gadget that vibrates at a high frequency while the plugs are drowned in a cleaner liquid (atleast the Place I got it done did so) Clean the fuel pump and filter and check the hoses and fuel lines. IIRC they clean the injector rail too. Finally they adjust the idle rpm if it needs to be adjusted. But I find it weird they don't touch the PCV, EGR, EVAP and IACV systems which are equally important. Maybe some places do but mostly not. Whether it's a garage or DIY, we should get all the above mentioned components cleaned and checked once in a while (average every 3-4 years or 60k kilometers, really depends on how much the car is used). Not to mention our lankan fuel quality. I have heard of a Honda Fit GP1 that broke down one night nearby because the fuel filter got clogged. So while the question of whether it is a money grab depends on the price charged and quality of work. But other than removing the fuel tank to access the fuel pump in some models, everything else can be done at home given that owner is handy and has the necessary products.- 9 replies

I also second fuel starvation issue. I have experience with this problem too. Its usually check valve or could be a fault with the ignition coils. Do you experience any misfires or rough idle? If so, check with cleaning the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) & PCV (Positive Crank Ventilation Valve) too. Those two are usually not covered in an 'engine tuneup'. Were you observing the tune up guys do the job or did you leave the car by itself at the garage? Cause some cars have fragile components in the fuel system that should be handled with care.- 9 replies

But the sad thing about these mid engined cars is that unless someone tells the driver, they have almost no clue the car is on fire. Unlike front engined cars where a tiny hint of smoke is enough to warn the driver. Wouldn't lotus be able to carry out a complete restoration of this unit? Like how Ferrari does it. Wouldn't even need Lotus if the parts can be sourced and done by a talented garage. Also I've seen this suggested in a few places: Keeping a small fire extinguisher on a car thats really old is a valuable asset. So that's one lesson we can take from this.

Just needs some cataloy & wd40. It will buff out.

Its the Auto brake system (City Brake Assist). By any chance was the vehicle sitting idle for a long time (rarely used?) An OBD scan at a service station will get to the bottom of the issue. But for now, nothing to worry. Although this is rare, but if it affects your driving/braking, then you can switch it off.

Removing acid rain marks from glasses/windscreen

Cerium Oxide powder is good for removing minor scratches and marks from windscreens. -
Yes I've heard the same reviews too about the Classics. My experience with KYB Excel-G is it's good for a sporty drive (stiff, good handling) but not so much for comfort like you pointed out. Go for classics, but what you have to be concerned about is whether you are buying the Japanese stuff or the Thailand version. Thai is obviously cheaper but won't offer the exact durability and comfort as the Japanese, it's still good enough though.

CVCC engine, started to put Honda on the map back then

I wouldn't trust those to be honest. There are so many brands of them but it's better you get a professional tune up done. I used one such product (forgot the dumb brand) and once in a while suffered tiny misfires when downshifting (rare but happens) even though I used the right amount. Heard someone who's diesel engine started having problems after using such a product too. Get a tune up done and focus on your driving manners and concentration. Avoid driving during busy times unless necessary. That will help you get the best fuel economy and keep your car in good shape too

How do people even find parts for this thing? They were sold as the Whizzkid in Europe but even then, with a 4/5 year production run, how do people keep them running, that too in lanka?

Someone please take my turn.

Daihatsu midget class. This is so fun to watch. Don't we have any in lanka ☹️

He is probably one of those F&F wannabes. The guy who wants to buy the flashiest car with the biggest exhaust to "stray away from the crowd of Toyotas and be a true street king" or whatever corny stuff they come up with. You tend to see alot of these so called "car enthusiasts/petrolheads/car guys/street racers" in Instagram, having that tiktok stigma also. I won't be surprised if they pointed at the alternator and said "nice turbo machan".

Saw an ad in FB a few months back. Morris/Mini book for sale... With car (I mean if u are into such things and want such a trivial and unnecessary object like a car, not like it matters in the grand scheme of things compared to the book)

Both of them basically have the same tail lights. But the pic is of an Audi 100. So @Crosswindyou are correct and incorrect at the same time. ? Typical audi cloning their models throughout the range as they always do. Edit: Yup, your turn iRage!
