  1. Are those numbers true? 400,000 means 2% of the population of SL. ? Dismantled in china or India and Reassembling?? Who is doing this? Micro, Ideal? ?

  4. The Electronic throttle is run by a motor. What will happen if motor malfunctions for some positions (specially in idling position)? It will not be a big issue for high RPMs but will affect to idle RPM as the opening size is too small. Just a guess only.....
  5. Why did you choose TL instead of going to a normal place and doing things under your supervision? Does going to TL add any value to you or your car?
  6. If your C-HR doing 12 km/l (lets assume), you will cost Rs. 11.40 for fuel. Additional cost for injector cleaner is Rs. 0.40 so its 3.5% increase which means no harm if this is really helpful to long run of injectors (+ added fuel efficiency). Since this product is a product supplied by the manufacturer, I am not going to question it, but honestly I have the following doubt. Petrol is a good solvent and is injected under considerable pressure. Can this liquid (diluted 200 times with petrol) remove anything that cannot be removed by the petrol itself?

  9. Another example that color has nothing to say, After completing 5 years I replaced my aqua transmission oil for the first time (Mileage 78, XXX km). Although the color was dark, after 12 hours there was nothing visible to the naked eye on the paper. (Anyway, I don't know if there were micro or nano scale particles ... ??)
  10. My Brother-in-law. He was doing 60,000 km per year those days for daily office commuting from Matara to Hambanthota. Now bit less. Sample 1 took at the service but 2 taken from the dipstick line after keeping some time on start. We bought both cars together in December 2014 as 0 millage. Axio has 194,000+ km on the clock now. Trust me, we have its first (first and only) spark plug replacement (so-called tune-up) at 180,000+ km. There were no carbon deposits, and the pugs were in excellent condition. But it was replaced because the manufacturer's recommendation was less than that. We are still using 0W20 without harm.
  11. @iRage, @Sadeepa Dilhara Below is one visual test I did a few years ago. (Since I did not have a test tube at home that day, I used two bottles of vanilla with different colored caps). Hope below images are self explanatory. Many things that are said by color are false. It is not easy to tell you anything by the color until it critically degraded. (Although the two samples were 10W30 and 0W20, both were mineral oils).
  12. Very correct... @Sadeepa Dilhara I have been using this Toyota 0W20 synthetic oil for my Aqua for about 5 years (in fact this synthetic came about 3 years ago. There was a mineral one before that). Normally I do about 8,000-9,000 km in six months so my oil change interval is almost 8,000-9,000 km. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the oil at the time of draining (by visual inspection only - as far as is known there is no other way to test in Sri Lanka).
  13. Toyota Australia recommended Research Octane Number (RON) 95 or above for C-HR Toyota Japan recommends Unleaded Regular Gasoline for C-HR but octane number not mentioned. Their regular gasoline is 90 RON, right?
  14. I had a chance to chat with a friend of mine who has a 2012 Sorrento. Millage is 120,000 + km now. The agent asked him Rs. 100,000 + for transmission oil change. He was told by agent that, need to remove the gearbox to tighten something inside the gearbox as it tends to loosen (this is what he told me....) However he decided to do the oil replacement from a place near Gampaha area for Rs. 18,000 (at the millage around 80,000) and running so far.

YOM 2018 - Very smart guy so Using 95 Oct always ?? - Millage 28,000 km - running mainly in Colombo - The injector blockage problem has arrived recently (you may read the case here) 2. YOM 2019 - He is just like me so always using 92 Oct (he never pump 95) ?? - Millage 30,000 km - running Colombo Gampaha and Katunayaka area - No injector issue yet 3. YOM 2016 - Using 95 mainly but occasionally 92 - Millage 42,000 km - running in Colombo - No injector issue yet
  16. Update: Next, he immersed the injector in a solvent bath for about two days (tip only) and then cleaned the injector 3 times by ultrasonic cleaning. and tested with WD40 as well. No improvement in static flow rate (still 45 ml) but all other things were perfect(spay pattern in different modes, coil parameters, etc). He also cleaned the fuel filter, cleaned the fuel tank, and applied injector cleaning additives to new fuels. The injectors were reinstalled last Sunday and has been running so far without any issues or errors up to now.

  19. Is this connected full-time to normal OBDII port of the vehicle or is there another location in your vehicle to connect it keeping OBDII port free?

  21. Last one I bought from ebay which is nicely working with "Torque Pro" app. Tested with a 2016 (or 2017 I can't remember exactly) Vitz as well. I bought 3 units from this person in three different times (for my friends also). All came really fast withing 6 - 7 days. But now couldn't find this in his store.

I have linked this to the practical situation to get a better understanding and same time proposed few assumptions as the matter is complicated by more variables. The main reason for the question was the "Auto Vision" program yesterday, that said fuel efficiency is declining in the evening due to high humidity. ???
  23. Let's assume you are travelling from Paliyagoda to Hambanthota via Katunayaka, Outer circular and Southern Expressways. You will be travelling on 100 km/h. Case 1: Departing at 06:00 am in the morning Case 2: Departing at 12:00 noon Case 3: Departing at 6:00 pm in the evening In which case you will get the highest fuel economy and the lowest fuel fuel economy ? Concern factors: Humidity and Air density. (Let's assume wind direction, wind condition and road traffic condition is same for all the three cases)
