  1. Great car and looks like a great project ! All the best and keep the updates coming. I missed buyin a 300 Z and am regretting it almost daily .LOL.
  2. If you need to ask what a 6 cylinder engine will do on fuel consumption, you are looking at the wrong type of car . look around - people who have te silky 6 s normally dont sell them till they cross 100K , and a new model comes out. Stop agonising and buy a 4 pot diesel, and smile all the way !
  3. Hey ripper, stop him and ask man.......no harm eh ? One lives in hope
  4. Yessir ! Pop up headlights called de Shark nose Now thats old school. The new ones (The black one is on AL asking 3.7 Mil) fantastic cars - true usable super cars ...IMHO. But are too pricey for me Us poor boyz

    Nissan Cefiro

Old topic, never seems to die. Fantastic car . Mine is the Japanese version, last model year 2001, with illuminated dashboard(as called in SL) and has the 2.0 litre NEO engine . I am vey very very happy with my 7 - 8 KMPL. In life one must learn to prioritise:) . Ahh the comfort.....and the silence.......
  6. Need to get a sports coupe ...... Any idea where the Shark nose Supra's gone ? I remember seeing a Silver one some time ago..... ?
  7. Well well, looks like the MFOC needs to do an event...... I think we should do a driving trip .....open to all Al members so that we can get to meet up and also have fun in our respective cars.....(Mainly coz I aint got a Mazda no more LOL) whatcha guys think? Maybe a trip to Pannala Track or down to the Kitulgala River (remember last time ? ) Cheers Prad
  8. Not well maintained & and you gonna buy it ?
  9. Mr Magnum, Pray answer me, why do you want a Mercedes Diesel? As the people in the forum have answered - these are solid cars, built well, and last a lifetime when loved. As Peri said top speeds of most cars is limited to 155 MPH. So that should suffice in sunny SL. When buying a used car - get your budget sorted and get the best car for the maximum cash. By that I mean not over paying but the best condition / loved car and you will be a happy chappie. In my humble opinion conversions from petrol to diesel are not recommended- buy original & keep it original. Hope you find your dream ride ,ideally a 300 D and post some pics when you do. I myself am on the hunt for a W123 Petrol.......must convince spouse though
  10. As a former owner, I agree its not the best for long distances at slow speeds. But as a comment below says on fast rides the aerodynamics come into play and you dont feel the weight on your arms. I used to take mine to office - from Etul Kotte to Kotahena in the morning traffic .....the entire weight of your body is on your wrists. But fun when you go to Dambulla..... Height is not really an issue if you can reach the ground...my dad who is also short at 5'3" had a CB 750 in the old days..... If its your dream bike, go for it man, nothing like it for sheer thrills from a 250 cc - no wonder its called the Baby Blade. Or else get a nice big beer belly and rest it on da tank....ha ha takes the weight off.....
  11. Great to see some action / fun in Autolanka again, warms the cockles of ma heart Just a thought, why is the first factor this person is looking for in a jeep, Comfort? A jeep is many things but comfort is not the overriding factor which is built in as its primary function. Having had / have a few jeeps, the Montero GDI, (Which never gave me any trouble) is the most comfortable jeep I have been in. Off road its pretty good but you dont really hack it there Ask yourself what the jeep is for, sort out your budget, dont fall prey to rumors / perceptions and go out there and get what you want. And also be a man and apologise mate, it shows humility and class. Live long and have a ball!
  12. Hi Guys, been a while. Me and a few pals who have the Y60 are in need of some parts and were wondering if anyone knows a place? Some stuff such as Power steering pump, front differential, a steering wheel, some trim etc . Just thought I would post and see if anyone could help. Cheers & Drive safe.
  13. Yeah Man, once a biker always a biker. The first bike I had was a Yamaha DT 50. Then a Kawasaki 125. Then my dad got himself a Honda CB750 - the original superbike with the 4 pipes , and I managed to totter around on that for a while. Went abroad rode some cool big bikes and came back to Sl and got myself the ubiquitous CBR 250 RR. Man a good machine for SL. fast, nippy and flingable . Some excellent times. Also rode a Harley ..softail...The R1 is awesome as is the Blackbird.....but cannot really enjoy them in Sl. Now own a Yamaha RD 350 which I just finished restoring and put on the road. Shes a 1973 Model. 7 shri. needs a tune upe as not running smooth on the 2 carbs........also got a Chally 70 cc 3 speed and another Suzuki Gt125 which is a donor for a project(The less said about dat the better The chally is super fun too. Goes anywhere and over anything...hheeeee yaaa
  14. Excellent and informative. Nice to have some knowlege gain on Autolanka again. Thank you .
