Brasso and lot of Elbow grease would do wonders! i tried myself and got superb results..
  4. Today i saw NISSAN Vanette "Nice Pack"
  5. Yes i herd that too.. One of Service Adviser guys there at Toyota Once said that, VVT-i Engines lot depend on Engine oil type cos the VVT-i controller works on Engine oil pressure all alone.. so slight change in the Oil might affect the engines performance and the functionality too.. newest VVT-i recommend to use SAE30 type oil when engine is new.. even that guy Say NO NO to synthetics..
  6. yeah they do manufacture. but not available in SL. never seen a Mobil XHP 10W-30 in SL.
  7. Well Toyota Lanka fellas do it Manually AFAIK
  8. I don't think Toyota will ever manufacture engine oils and other lubes on their own. Toyota Oil must be Re branded Mobil or some other brand. (Just like KYB Shocks on Toyota s) but i find something interesting which is they (Toyota Oils) got different Viscosity levels like 10W30 etc. in newer VVT-i Engines thinner oils recommended.
  9. Nah Cant be.. Not even a Hybrid would do that much of KMPL in Colombo Traffic.. Anyway herd that those CVTs do wonders with KMPL figures.. (In Honda City etc,) but 18-20 in City Driving is bit exaggerated i guess
  10. Nope, no issues.. if you ordered them from Hong Kong sellers. they'll send it using small envelopes and marked them as Gifts.
  11. I found this extremely useful. because it can save lot of time diagnosing your cars Automatic Air conditioning system. this will enable you to pinpoint where the problem is (Actuator Or In Sensors Like Solar Sensor). please make note that this will only work on Toyota Vehicles and models equip with Automatic Air conditioning system (With Servo motors, and Sensors). (Example In Corolla 121s, G Grade, Luxel Grade equipped with Automatic Air Conditioning unit) 1st Step 2nd Step 3rd Step 4th Step (Determining the error codes) Final Step
  12. I'm Using them On my cars Number Plates (White LEDs) and on Park Lights on front. got them through eBay. Holder type was 168/198. you can use this guide to determine which type of bulb on which part
  13. Seat Belts Compulsory! Wow Finally.. that's a good thing.. plus i herd that Their going to change the procedure of getting Motor Coach Driving License (Bus License) as well? any news regarding that.. ?
  14. Yep, true. we need someone like Gamini Dissanayake / Lalith Athulathmudali type leader. but it's so pathetic that we don't see anyone like those in near future. no wonder we end up with some "bad eggs" after get killed professionals like Lakshman Kadirgamar and those earlier mentioned people.
  15. Hmm.. perhaps Water in petrol tank can cause sudden hiccups.. And what about the Spark Plug Condition?
  16. Agreed, I've seen my buddies who tried to D-I-Y, screwed their MAF and Temp Sensor.. so even if you do those from yourselves, just be careful, cos if something goes wrong with those sensors, it's costly to replace them. specially the MAF. nothings wrong with cleaning Throttle Body and MAF but Extremely careful when you do those.
  17. yeah sometimes Alternator might get busted and Radiator fans too.. so Be careful..
  18. Dunno about 1.5Ls. but my 1.8L 122 Scored 17-18 Kmpl On outstation driving below 3000 Rpm. In Colombo It's A Different story 7-8Kmpl in heavy traffic and it's got a Auto Tranny.
  19. Charging Tax for a Safety features in a Car, they must be thinking, to have a Airbag or ABS Brakes is a Luxury thing in an Accident!!
  20. That's the exact point I'm talking. it's illegal only to "ship" (Import) into Sri Lanka. but it's available across the country, that's the funny part. even my Garmin Bluetooth GPS device was carried through the airport by my friend from Singapore. so when you courier the thing from another country, that's where the questions start to ask by the authorities?? typical Authority behavior in Sri Lanka
  21. Wow!! thats ridiculous! why the hell anybody wants to tax for a Safety feature in a car!! do they Tax for the SRS Air Bags??
  22. Yeah, its working. Nokia N95, N82 or whatever GPS enabled Device should work in Sri Lanka.. problem comes when accessing maps for them. so far i used Google maps ( This works For most of the Symbian Phones, But that doesn't include Road maps of Sri Lanka, only the Satellite view just like Google earth)
  23. Yeah machan, ,My phone was imported through DHL. They (Custom officers) ask me to get the license from TRC and Import export control board to clear the item from Customs. thing is there is some circulation issued by Defence ministry saying some issues regarding Importing GPS devices (Including GPS enabled cellphones). best thing is to hand delivered by some one, rather than importing through couriers.
  24. Yep true! i ran into serious trouble with authorities when i tried to import a GPS enabled Nokia N82. but the funny thing it's available in every mobile phone sales outlets in Sri Lanka. so much for the laws. so what i did was get down a external GPS Device (Bluetooth GPS - Garmin) through a friend. it works nicely with Google maps (Satellite mode)
