  1. Warning, you are buying a car used in Japan and abused in SL. and still standing,,.. It will have issues So do a full service.Including the gearbox change all oils/fluids check brake hoses + liners , pads. look into the condition of all belts. our climate+ roads would have aged the suspension. - get it checked from the tyres up./ Cooling system -flush and re fill and check/change the pressure cap check operation of cooling fans
  2. You might find it important that wagons in SLeven though more practical than a car have a lower resale value. the Wingroad being o\ne
  3. I may be old fashioned,.. but when compared with Korean , Chinese and indian examples, they're a whole lot better as they are mostly the originals copied by the af0fre mentioned trio.
  4. If you want good quality sound,.. Look elsewhere and FM reception is at best right under the tower. Basically, you get what you paid for.And yes, there maybe exceptions but you can't test before you buy apart from the above mentioned hiccups.
  5. The biggest prob is that the people upholding the law bus it to work
  6. Prob it's just a simple case of forgetting to tighten nuts and bolts,.
  7. Prob it's just a simple case of forgetting to tighten nuts and bolts,.
  8. Change your ATF. It's the first step in auto box maintenance. And yes, it needs too be maintained,.. Wishing you happy motoring ,.\ TT.
  9. An Elantra! and someone got their pannies in a twist Wonder how he'll react when the 25k fine regime is implemented,..
  10. Come has the day when Korean cars rock! wonder what your thoughts on Chinese cars are,..incase if you failed to notice the poster has made a decision!
  11. Stop driving the car,..Coolant loss will give rise to massive head aches for both you and the engine. youshould never brim the expansion tank as there will not be any space for the coolant to expand into. Get a suitably qualified and experienced mech to look at the rad under pressure. Goodluck. TT. p.S, Also get the cooling fan operation checked as it's electric,./
  12. YES , first confirm you actually have a leak as you do not fill the expansion tank to the brim. bleed system and check for good measure TT.
  13. I've seen it cured before,..it's to do with the co-efficient of friction between the pads and disc. if possible have the discs re surfaced. clean and lubricate the moving parts and apply copper-grease to the pad back-plate. GOOD LUCK. TT
  14. Get genuine disk pads.and clean everything.
  15. +++++There was a guy who was quoted nearly a million from TL for a replacement Toyota CVT (AL threads) Most all agents get one part as a service item,.. The entire transmission. Classic example. BMW. Their auto trannies are made by another company,..and no dealer or user service items are there than a complete unit. so if there is a prob with a trans, they just replace it. it's not being able to fix the prob but the owner getting a a heart-attak upon seeing the estimate,.. I recall back in the 90's almost all car dealers in SL were not allowed to import auto trans equipped vehicles by the manufacturers. Reasons sighted as " Incompatible local operating conditions" ( You may have been too young to remember.) I'm happy to see that a few independent specialists have popped up for auto boxes in the island . When it comes to failures even a manual was also seen in the threads,..It all boils down to usage Maintenance, or the lack of it. Before asking some one to get a brain to use your own to start with. the original comments made were to help the writer of the thread to make an informed decision.and not to throw the poor guy's finances down the drain,.. I'm sure if we could afford it, We'll all drive something better. This is why the local auto industry is what it is.we don't even know how to maintain a car, let alone make one.
  16. Guess you've not seen the transmission failures of local Korean cars, and they're less efficient when compared with their Jap cousins,. There are issues that even the local agent can't fix.
  17. Depends on how bad the car is and how you drive it.
  18. Prob the first of many more visits when you get a Hyu!
  19. Flush the trans with a mechiene. you may be still having a lot of burnt old ATF in the system. a considerable amount is left inside the gearbox/torque converter . Did you change the air filter? \TT.
  20. This is why drums have been replaced with disks. with your case, I'd get the rear brakes overhauled soon. After all, it is your brakes
  21. Our bro's wouldn't know a tuned engine from a blown head gasket.
