Wiki is quoting the dailynews.lk (Which is not a government body) So there is still a chance that this might not happen. If we have somebody from RDA here...

Guys, I finally put GoodYear duraplus. Here's some quick comparison compared my previous Bridgestone AR10 Turanza. Road Noise: Well.. its massively reduced. With BS I could here the tyres even at 50. I had to turn up the volume level in my stereo on E01. But with GY, only a small noise even at 100. I can easily enjoy my stereo:) Comfort: Hardly to compare since my BS were at it's end of life (so no comfort there). But I fell GY is bit more comfort (because it's sidewalls a bit thinner?) Handling/ Cornering With GY, it's noticeably reduced. I was taking bends at around 80, but now I have to reduce it to 60/70. (I guess the thinner sidewalls comes into play) Steering response. Better with BS. But can't complain to GY. Altogether, I'm happy with my buy mostly because of less road noise since I travel on E01 everyday. And according to the reviews, I believe I can do around 60k+ on this. Hope this helps.

OK. For those who looking for newer prices, here's the complete set of my research. (its gone up again:( ) I didn't went to these places or bargained, just called and asked) Bridgestone B250 : 11400/= Dunlop Thailand : 11400/= Am*la tyre Good Year Duraplus : 11000/= P*ince tyres - 0773113991 (thanks Nilantha for the number) Good Year Duraplus : 11600/= Falken : thailand - 10950/= GT Eco : 9500/= Dunlop Jap : 11800/= The t*re team edit: I finally thinking of getting Good year duraplus because of low noise and high durability. I love my current Bridgeston Turanza AR10s but they are noisier at high speeds.

You're right. It's the opposite here;) My dad only gets 10-11 in my ES8 where I get around 14.5 in long distance. He has a bad habit when following a slow moving vehicle and waiting to overtake, he always put it into 3rd gear. And yes, 13 for an FD1 seems reasonable. At the end, Honda loves to rev but you will have to pay the price;)

Hmm.. interesting. I don't know the rules here, but if these information can be properly encrypted with asterix (like bri*gestone) I think it would be great!

Guys can you let me know the places?

Guys, I have finally narrowed down my choices to Dunlop Japan and Bridgestone Indonesian. I'm currently having Bridgestone Turanzas and its pretty good with regards to the mileage. (Came from the previous owner and I did 30K on them, pretty sure the total is somewhere near 55K... well it's totally used now.) According to the reviews, Dunlop is much comfy but lasts only 45k - 50k. (No personal experience on that) Do you have any opinions? (size: 185/70 R14) p.s. SK Munasinghe - Dunlop Thaiwan : 11400/= (no Japan stock) Amila Tyre House Bridgestone B250 Indonesian: 11400/=

Too bad. I thought it should be doing at least 13 :-|

Thanks for the info. How about your long runs? (Ex: highway)

Thumbs down for Starlet Diesel (it's bad, believe me) and March (Not too friendly on the wallet) Starlet Petrol is a very good car, and consider the EG8 too. If you are too concerend about repair cost, it should be the Maruti. (Front sealed beam is only 750 bucks )

My Car Makes A Clicking Noise But Won't Start (Starter Motor Not Working)
razordj replied to flashmark's question in Mechanical problems
I think this explains it. If you are a heavy driver the most common culprit is the terminals. Since you are not using this vehicle much, chances are the battery is dead/ it's lifetime decreased. (so you have to recharge fully and check/ or replace the battery) Both options won't cost you a cent, checking the termials is a DIY and checking the charge level is FOC at a battery shop. I also recall in AL forums one guy said unsealed ones (like Exide) are bad when you are not using the vehicle. (lifetime gets decreased) -
Depends on the car. EK3 and FB15 recon parts can be easily found as I know. It's getting harder when you go for the newer models, but those tend to not to break easily because they are new.
-
This totally depends on how heavy foot you have, for any car. Take a look at some hybrid videos, specially how the Honda Insight dashboard color changes from green to blue when you press the foot to the bottom. If you can apply those light foot driving habits to a normal car, you can improve by 1, 2 probably 3 digits of less fuel consumption. And yes, your wallet is saved but that comes with a price. I find myself boring if i drive it like this every time.
-
Not to mention the slightly high fuel consumption too

Tinting windows has been discussed here, except a place around Negambo. If you need a cheap tint (around 3-5k), you can do it anywhere but it you need something like 3M you might need to come to Colombo. (3M takes around 30K for all 6 windows as I recall)
