  1. A girl in my maths lessons class was chauffeured in one of these. I had the biggest ever crush on her
  2. That is apparently one of the tuning knob affairs he's trying to avoid
  3. That tire has a huge side wall. And lolz @ RBR.
  4. The biggest problem is that BoomBox type radios disappeared rapidly during the early 90s. However, Sony do still make some pretty good units, e.g. the CFDS-26.
  5. I looked up Lakehouse for any info on the 121 accident, all I could find was a byline stating 4 passengers were in the car, including a woman who was severely injured. So I'm assuming no one kicked the bucket at the scene at least. My theory is that since it was highly unlikely they were wearing seat belts, they must've been flung out of the car when it started spinning like a top after hitting the embankment.
  6. I have one.... no wait, that was a daydream....
  7. It would be if our vehicles had large squeegees instead of slim strips of rubber composite material as wipers A regular wiper blade is useless when it comes to the layer of oily film Velocity mentioned. Unless you use something way more corrosive, in which case you stand to damage your washer plumbing and/or motor. KR42 mentions he mixes in washing powder into the wiper fluid bottle, I wouldn't recommend this either since that stuff is more removing particulates rather than dissolving.
  8. Spot on! I remember seeing on of these at that horrible junction leading to Ward Place. It had one eye permanently open.
  9. I too hate the oily film on the front and rear glasses, the wipers are all but useless at times. On rainy days, I usually wash both thoroughly with dish washing liquid before leaving the office and home.
  10. You misunderstood me, those are the W124s I'd own if I lived in Utopia
  11. Hint: A special paint job.
  12. That's what you're worried about?
  13. Benz for me, in particular a fleet of W124s, which includes an E36 Coupe, 500E and an E300 Diesel Touring.
  14. Double post.
  15. As amazing as Forza is, I still lust after GT, in particular the obscure Japanese cars you get to unlock. Still I should give this a try once I'm done with Mafia 2.
  16. Harpo Gooneratne?
  17. Yeah machan, I just updated my earlier post to highlight the differences. I think the image you found must have been incorrectly labelled as a 760.
  18. No machan, thats a 4 series. Below is a 760, the creme de la creme of the Volvo line up in the 80s. One of their ads was pushing a bunch of them off a tall building with a crash test dummy inside it, to prove how safe they were. And here's a 460 Very different cars as you can see.
  19. Volvo 4 series, 440 or 460.
  20. Can you give us a hint machan? Like country of origin?
  21. Bought a generic H4 Bi-xenon setup for my trusty van, it's been working very well for over 18 months now. One thing to note from personal experience, if you're getting front end work done, remove the bulbs yourself before handing over the vehicle. My garage fellow had mistakenly removed the bulb/solenoid assembly from the H4 flange (this is by design, to allow for bulb replacement) and improperly handled it. This now causes the solenoid to stick sometimes when switching to the highbeam.
  22. Ebay has syringes for around 2k or so. Here's one. As for the hot air guns, I spoke to the electronics man, his response was "pita kotuwe ona kadayaka thiyanne ona". Basically most shops on 1st Cross Street should have them, but the hot air guns he's knowledgeable on are the kind used for soldering electronics (SMDs and what not), so they're pretty pricey @ 10K+. He hasn't come across the general purpose kind, but suggests that you check Robert Agencies and Unitech to begin with.
  23. The rear fog lamp on the left is a UK requirement, most car manufacturers use one of the reverse indicators for this. Older cars have an extra red light fitted on the left. I've noticed the Peugeot 306 in SL has it in the middle of the bumper, and the last incarnation of the Maruti ZEN comes with optional rear fogs on the bumpers.
  24. MasterDon, ebay has a ton of arctic silver compound in syringe form, you just have to select the seller with the least extortionate S&H charges. A decent heat gun can be bought in Pettah; I'll speak to our resident electronics man and see if I can garner any more details on shop names etc.
