  1. Here's a quick shot after getting her home.
  2. No CSL stateside. That was a super fail! I traded that car in after only 1000 miles. I figured the boy racer in me was no longer alive. Plus the wife needed a practical daily driver to get to work. So we ended up trading it in for a Mercedes C- Class. This, however is the replacement for my BMW 335i. Gotta love the the 9000rpm rev counter
  3. Reviving an old thread for a teaser of my new toy.
  4. Not always, in these countries if the repair cost is 60-70% of the value of the vehicle, the car is written off. But the insurance company auctions it off and people buy them for cheap and fix them up. Here in the US, that kind of vehicles are given a salvage title and can be rebuilt and reregistered after a safety inspection.
  5. BTW what's the price tag on the Motorhomes?
  6. I've heard that the Mondial was auctioned off only a few years back after being in the customs impound for a while.
  7. Nice to hear from you after a while Duncan!
  8. Oh boy. That was on old CTB-buses that had a non-synchronous gearboxes.
  9. Dude even Obama changed his stance on gays, You coming from a notoriously gay school should show some empathy. ROFL
  10. I don't know how long you've been in the US, but having the biggest SUV is NOT cool anymore. For that kinda money I'd rather get s Range Rover Sport.
  11. My point is you're paying taxes in the foreign country, and you do not have to pay any taxes in SL when you bring your income over.
  12. I agree. True, that people working abroad send money back home, but all your services and expertise are rendered to another country. In a way government servant and tax payer permits are justified. For example my dad could've stayed back in the US after his Masters and made a ton of money working here, but he decided to go back and serve the country for a mere Rs. 15,000 salary till he retired in the early 2000s. People working abroad are already getting a concession by not having to pay any taxes on foreign currency income. I think that is good enough.
  13. There was a permit given about 2 years back where you were required to deposit $150,000 in an NRFC and you were given a vehicle permit. I don't know if that's there anymore. Honestly I don't think it was worth it though.
  14. Thanks guys, no big mods for either car as they are both under warranty. The STi need broken in too. But I'm thinking of a getting a CAI and a Cobb Accessport.
  15. Took the two cars out for a quick photoshoot this evening. Both cars pack over 300bhp each, but very different in character.
  16. It's staying. This is a second car
  17. Negative. The fun school days are over, now I got to work my ass off to pay for the toys...
  18. Technically it is called a Impreza WRX STi
  19. 2012 STi Hatchback. Now the painful task of keeping it under 4000 rpms for the first 1000 miles.
  20. Not exactly...
  21. I've had a lot of things happening the past few weeks. Got a job, moved to Florida, and today I finished the last class of my MBA. Since moving down to Florida, we wanted a second car. So today I went to checkout a car that I've been eying for a while, and I ended up buying it!. Here's a little teaser, I'll let you petrol head guess what it is.
  22. I couldn't find your old thread, so I'll post this here http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/news/auto-blog/Jeep-concept-trucks
  23. Use a money changing agency, they will accept your money here and get their contacts in the UK to pay your friend. Just make sure you get hold of a reputed agency. This is a black market transaction though. Works purely on trust and leaves no document trail. It's a PITA to get money out of the country even with NRFC accounts. I've had trouble bring money to pay for school here in the US. Black market is the only way to get through it.
