  1. Aquaman, If you think that putting a 2c into a BMW is going to make it reliable I doubt it. Almost all components of the car runs on CAN BUS with them feeding into the main ECU. I don't think a 'baas' dropping a 2C engine is going to make all that function better than it came from the factory. Let's see this 300- car your friends has.
  2. Your friend should be happy that I'm not in SL. Otherwise I would've found him myself and kicked him in the ass. Why didn't he just go buy a jap car that has a 2C engine in the first place? I'm sure he could've found a luxurious Toyota Crown. I started my BMW ownership with a 1999 320D. Loved everything about it. Went on to get a 2002 320D while I was still there. When I moved to the US my first car was again a BMW a 2002 325i. Then got a 2007 335i, then a 2009 M3. I currently have a 2011 X5d and looking to replace that with a newer X5 and soon to come is either a M3 or a M2. That's how I feel about BMWs. Did you count how many that was? 6 and continuing!! You sir are an ASS!
  3. Infact a BMW Individual car is still ordered through the dealership. But the options offered are different to the common options, and comes at a very steep price. On the newer cars the exclusive paint colors are a $5000 option.
  4. There was a bright yellow or green colored individual facelift. Used to be owned by the owners of a baby store in Kirulapona.
  5. Are you talking about E46s or F30s?
  6. So she stole your pics, or you gave them to her?

Why does almost every SUV(ish) vehicle on the road have this blue/red emergency vehicle light on the dashboard. Is that to try show people you're a V*P?
  8. Mitsubishi's got to be the most boring Japanese brand now they don't make the Evo anymore. They're almost out of the US market. Models are meh... except for the one that Peri seems to have shot a little more than the others. The imported talent is at its worse! And Natasha's gym routine is obviously not working LOL...

I guess that is probably the concern of most, the inability to get anything done due to the differences in opinion. I don't follow SL politics so don't know to comment.

Yes, went to Race Course to see how that has changed. Also took the highway to and back from Galle. Very nice and almost on par with developed countries. Amazingly everyone behaved on the highway. The bus drivers seem to have a hard time keeping inside the lane and their driver side wheels were crossing over to the other lane. I also noticed that very few cars were actually traveling at the speed of 100kmph, most were at speeds below that but were keeping to the slow lane. Also the majority of the people I spoke to seem to be regretting being part of the government change, regardless of corruption and the dictatorship there seem to have been tangible development.

Few observeration from returning after half a decade... Honda Vezels are everywhere, I mean F*CKING everywhere! WTF!! Roads are so chaotic and overcrowded. People seem to spend half their life stuck in a traffic jam. I tried to drive my mom's Honda Fit Hybrid like all the local hybrid drivers to get the best gas mileage and failed miserablly.

No I'm not talking about the movie Mad Max : Fury Road. Yours truly will be in Sri Lanka for two weeks in a few days. Look forward to any motoring events and catching up with old friends.
  13. Sunroofs are white people who need a tan, unless you're white I don't approve a sunroof specially when it's a retrofit.
  14. I like agent Fuentes. One fine Latina! Letty is too hardcore.
  15. Where the F where the cops? Is East London the ghetto of London?
  16. What happened to the Fiat 126 your family had?
  17. I think the real reason is that we already get the factual information on the internet about hot new cars. Back in the day even Top Gear was factual and that was the source of information for many petrol heads. Now there's plenty of online sources for those, and our expectations have changed wanting the shows to be more of entertainment. Top gear is that.
  18. Radar detectors are useless on laser speed guns. Only way to avoid those are laser jammers, which are fairly expensive. But recently I've found Waze app to be very useful on knowing where the speed traps are.
  19. The protective film 'aka clear bra' is very popular here, specially on high priced cars to protect against rock chips on the highway. The quality of the film and the skills of the person applying it is the most important. But on a place like the side skirts it really wouldn't matter.
  20. This thread is epic.
  21. Very true!
  22. Thanks everyone. I messaged Sky Gym on FB and they got back to me with daily rates. It might me the most convenient for me since I'll I'm staying in Panideniya.
  23. Thanks, where is American College now? Is it still where it was before, around where the Arpico and Suwasevana Hospital was?
  24. Hey guys, I'm going to be in SL for two weeks in June. And being the fitness junkies we are both me and my wife need to find a gym to workout while there. We'll be staying in Colombo for a few days, maybe at one of the hotels and then the rest of the time at my parents place in Kandy. The hotels might have their own gym, I've also heard about High Octane in Colombo. What about gyms in Kandy? There used to be Powerworld or something back in the day.
  25. DItto on all of the above. Although not my first car, my introduction to BMWs was a E46, a 1999 320d that I owned back in SL. Since then I have always had a BMW in my garage. Over the years I've owned 3 E46s (2-320Ds and a 325xi), 2 E90s(335i and M3) and now have a E70 X5. Hopefully next year I will have a F80 M3 or a F80 X5M, but either way I will always have a BMW in my garage. They are addictive cars and I like the progression from the older model to the new one. Not the cheapest to maintain even here in the US but truly worth the ownership. I've owned many makes and models of cars over the years but BMW is the only brand I keep going back to.
