true, i was actually referring to the difference of the tax rate for the 1.6 vs the usual 1.8 of the c class.

i think its possible since there is a 1.6ltr c-class available. im not pretty sure whether it could be a 2010 or so, may be a 2008 since there would be a depreciation on the tax as well. no offence to anyone, just saying with my experience, not arguing.

Subaru Japan Car Lineup

was checking the Japanese subaru site. both the hatchback and sedan sti`s are available. didnt compare the price but theres something called an a-line which has no spoiler and has a 5speed semi-automatic gearbox. competition for the evo X i guess. but im not sure whether this is the sti 11 cuz its just the sedan version of the sti 10(hatchback) since both cars are available on the site.

yep, my one is a 2010 brand new straight from the factory. yes the price if the axio depends on the year and the options. a x grade without any options would cost @ the range of 3.7-4mill. a more later year one with extra options could cost around the range i mentioned before. the axela is a 2009end model, this could mean 2 things, the tax is higher since only a year old for depreciation unlike the axio which can go upto 3 and a half years and since its only 1 year old, less used cars and the cost is somewhat more than an axio. just sharing what i know through experience. just got 5 of my cars this week, waiting for the rest to come on the 28th. isuru what do u mean 300k less? u mean at a range of around 3.2mill?

have driven both these cars, axio is more of a family car look. the axela has a more sporty look, both these cars r good, but the mazda is a little bit shaky compared to the axio and then the price difference. im personally importing an axela(landing on the 28th). costing me close to 5.5+/- million, where as you can get a good axio for max 4.5-5mill.

i got copped last sunday for having 20% tint in the front, the cop told me it has to be clear and no tint can be put to the front. my back is 50% he said that is no problem. no fine but he took my license and told me to remove it and bring it and show it at city traffic. did remove the tint but didnt show the vehicle, got the license from a reliable source inside...

no they r gettin it on monday. yes C*RM*RT is bringing down the 1.6ltr, which is from either singapore or thailand cuz in japan they only have 1.5ltr and 2.0ltr models. i was talking about the car i was gettin from japan not the one the agent imports.

i checked with the agent whether they have any stock available, apparently all the ones imported are sold even before clearing them. they only have a black available. i just want to check the car out cuz im gettin one down from japan (axela). its a 1.5ltr packed with many extras which you dont get from the agent AFAIK. plus with all that its costing me less that the agents price.

i dont have a seller machan, i personally import my vehicles. i have my cuz in japan, he fetches the car there and sends it.

yep, sold the s320 and yes i sold it some time back before the tax went down so got a good deal on it. yes i am hoping on gettin down a cls, i have to visit the agent to get some info on it, not pretty sure how much it cost now. im thinking about gettin one down my self from uk if the agent is quoting too much. gettin down some jap vehicles also for daily use. sold all the vehicles except for my 121 corolla diesel, most probably the list would be a mazda axela (mazda 3) 2010 or a 1.8 civic 2008 or 2009 and a luxury car which i still not decided ( mark x, skyline or an accord).

its been a long time since i wrote in the forum. just wanted to share my knowledge. i also sold my car a few days back. after the tax reduction. i advertised it on AL but i put the old price. i got so many calls tellin me that the new price was this and they could buy an unreg for less than the amount they quote. i stood by my price. i told them if that was the case u can go buy the unreg and im sellin my car at the price i want. i did reduce the price from the stated but not a significant amount. finally i got an offer for something close to what i quoted and i sold it. i used it for 4 years imported it my self back in 2006. and to state the fact, i did make something out of it, cuz i sold it a wee bit more than my initial cost when i imported it. so actually thinking about it, i didnt make thumping profits on the car, i could have if i sold it before the tax reduction but i still managed to cover my cost. and for all those ppl who are asking about how much its gonna cost when ur importing a car, its simple. your cost plus the tax plus the added tax for extra options. if you want to know what the extra options are check below. Customs extra options list the tax is calculated by gettin the agent value and depreciating it for how long its used (year of manufacture as long as i know, plus if its 0-6months old then no depreciation) multiply by the tax value. for those who ask about car prices on sites. there are enough and more sites in the net where you can find used car dealers in japan. the price they quote to u is the fob price. you still have more cost to bare even if u endup buyin it cuz there is handling charges, cancellation of registration in japan, freight, etc. so dont be fooled by the price they quote in the sites. i wouldnt recommend to just order one by looking at a picture. if you want to import a vehicle personally, you will probably have a few advantages and disadvantages. advantages are you could get a vehicle for the actual cif value + tax. the agent commission or the other other added values what the carsales guys add will not be included. disadvantage is that you need to go through the hassle of doing everything by your self. unless you have some kind of contact in japan or where ever your gettin the vehicle to overlook at things there. some of you may already know the stuff i mentioned. just thought i share what i know. oh and since the tax has been reduced im back on track working towards achieving my goal. i guess some of the old members know what im talking about looking at my track record of vehicles.
