  1. your money's safer with a glanza. that dude got it for 1.5 mil and sold it for about 1.45 after spending coupla hundred thousand on it. if you are feeling bold try to find a good early sti or an evo conversion. conversions are a little difficult to flog so you can haggle quite a bit. and you get twice the power and a lot more in terms of practicality.
  2. I got the injectors in my allion cleaned up with wurth carb and injector cleaner today. runs pretty smoothly now. I used abro earlier but the car seemed to idle a bit rough after that. and the garage owner who did the cleaning today advised me against using abro. But I think it all depends on how new your car is.
  3. getting one before you get married is actually a good idea. this guy i know had a glanza for about a year. the rear seats were next to useless and he fitted some tein adjustables and made the ride so hard no one wanted to even sit in the front. so we used to call it the bicycle performance wise it was fast for a hatchback. when you put the foot down it feels quite fast but the speedo said otherwise I didnt have much trouble keeping up with it in my vitz rs in traffic. so a stock one isn't all that fast for turbo'd car. but you'll have good fun chucking it about. and don't think its good on fuel. that guy got about 5-6 on average (that was mostly his fault I guess) and he drove around most days with the windows down. if you are serious about this try to find one that hasn't been crashed. cos nearly all of them out there have seen better days.
  4. has to be dropped down mate. thats the only way
  5. sigh! people like you are a waste of bandwidth
  6. I was at this house party once and a friend of mine was showing off his new 3 series coupe. Just then another one arrived in a Volvo P1800 coupe... Everyone stood in stunned silence. I was a man in love... 4 years on I still want one. badly!

I wonder how many engine this guy has gotten through

  7. The way I see it he's found a new pic of his favorite car on the internet and opened a thread just to show it to us
  8. I stopped believing these "prophecies" after the big hoo haa back in 1999.
  9. two reasons for that. 1. driving a car thats been driven below 60 during its entire life at high speeds for long periods of time sure takes its toll 2. we don't anyway notice broken down cars on normal trunk roads cos most just look like parked cars
  10. So after some guesswork and fiddling about I finally managed to connect my iphone to the hands free system in my allion. Why can't they just program these things with an english language option?

    1. nexus

      nexus

because allion is designed for JDM there no need to add english language for it.

      Actually I might :)

  11. 11-12 in town, possibly more, especially if you don't spend a lot of time idling. up to 17 out of town. Same as the Allion underneath, possibly cheaper than the civic to maintain and parts are more abundant. however engine parts are more expensive compared to the 1.5 because its a new engine this being sl its relatively difficult to flog compared to the 1.5. but if you are buying an allion or a premio this is definitely the engine you should go for.
  12. It still is for most maruti drivers
  13. well keep looking if you are not smart enough to mention which version it is
  14. Probably the first time Sylvi called someone dude
  15. The closest they got to building a 110 wagon is the carib
  16. They just had to give to DS Gunasekara. just when the expressway was starting to feel a bit safe too
  17. well most of the converted koreans carry this engine. because its compact, sits transversely, reliable, don't have tricky electrics and quite abundant. I've seen lots of sonatas and trajets with this engine. I'm positive the santafe can handle it. pretty crude conversion though.
  18. But keep in mind if you go ahead with a non original conversion like with a carina engine your vehicle will probably lose around half million in value, if it could be sold at all.
  19. its next to impossible if you havent got an original santafe diesel drivetrain (engine gearbox axles, not to mention the electronics). Otherwise your best bet is bringing down the drivetrain components of a diesel carina 216 (4wd) and shoehorning all that into your car. but this is a very crude operation because the position of the engine inside the engine bay and the rear diff (both have independent rear suspension afaik) is more like guesswork and you'll just have to cut the driveshafts and half axles and weld them together. The 3rd option is losing 4wd and just going with a front drive carina set up. anyway I wouldn't advise anything other than an original conversion cos you'll lose smoothness, resale value and a lot more everytime something goes wrong.
  20. I share the same sentiments on two tone paint. but where I disagree is painting an old late 90s design in the color of a modern car comes. I know what you are thinking. If you paint it in the same colour as an allion it will look modern and fresh like an allion. But it won't. just take a look at how these modern cars you mentioned curve around its corners, around the waistline and how the side profile is so simple. Now take a Noah and see. its curves are either wider or tighter at every comparable place. just look at the bottom section of it. Its a mess of ridges and curves and sudden shape changes. In fact toyota was so concerned about this part most of their paint options were two tone (white, silver, beige and gold were the only standalone colours they offered) Trust me 3R3 will look brilliant on a small flat section like the fuel filler flap or at most the bonnet. but paint the busy body of your van and you'll just leave people laughing in your wake. So try to keep your conversion original and paint the entire body in 3K3 or 3N3 if you must go for red. if you change your mind I'll give you the paint codes of other colours.
  21. The front one tilts and the rear one slides open completely. if the seats aren't part of a conversion kit you'll have to fabricate the seat mounts to fit the 3rd row seats and weld nuts to the floor for the 2nd row. anyway its really hard to do this right unless you got the carpet from the model those seats came in. because you wouldn't know the original mounting points of those seats. anyway if you are not serious about a noah conversion in the future any seat fitting place will do I guess.
  22. Dude! you'll ruin it. Go for an original Noah red. check out these links if you got a 42 this is the factory red http://www.net-park.co.jp/etc/toyota/carimgdisp.php?photo=CATA/5504/5504-07.jpg That's painted in 3K3 (Red) at the top and 1C0 (Beige) at the bottom If its a 41 go with 3N3 http://www.net-park.co.jp/etc/toyota/carimgdisp.php?photo=CATA/5503/5503-04.jpg thats 1A0 at the bottom
  23. we painted it in black before going ahead with the white coat so we can find all the uneven areas and fix them. I know! people are just painting them in all sorts of random colours and adding chrome and stickers. I wanted to keep the looks completely original that's why I even went for those wheels and painted it in original Noah white. If anyone needs help sourcing an original colour for a noah let me know.
  24. No I havent removed 4WD! Its still as much 4wd as it was before the build, except with newer diffs and gearbox to give more linear ratios and a higher top speed. So It should mechanically top out at 184 km/h on standard wheels and tyres. anyway with the 2C engine I got only about 8 km/l in town and 12-14 out of town. with the new engine and gearing I get close to 10 in town and 12+ out of town under spirited driving. should get close to 15 I'm careful
