mate when you are buying tyres dont forget to consider how often you use the vehicle, where you use it and balance out the right compromises. m/t on your everyday car for road use. bad choice
-
hello machan! if you are desperate to keep it you could ask some bigshot in the government to possibly provide you with a document of excuse. however if i were you i'd remove it and forget it. and here's my reasoning. in a crash you are more likely to get injured as the crash bar will make crumple zones redundant. same goes for aerodynamics. a bull bar could reduce fuel economy by around 5% depending on its shape and the proportions of the vehicle. not to mention wind noise. finally and most importantly if you hit a pedestrian at speed chances are they'll probably split in half. you never know when someone will cross the road without looking. trust me i've had my share of bad experience. if a bull bar was involved i would have ended up with a burnt shell of a car.

well, getting back to the subject of cars, this new girl i fancy refers to my car as the "pebble" either i need to find another girl or buy a bigger car

alrite guys! higher octane petrol only makes sense in high compression engines. the higher the octane rating the harder it is to burn i.e. the more you can compress it without any knocking. however this being a proper motoring audience i'm sure most of you are aware of the fact. but... before you try to justify the cheaper 90 octane is just as better on low tech engines let me remind you that on this part of the world, as maersk said, the lowest grade we can find is 95. so all cars run on 95 octane without any hesitation. which makes me think this debate about 90 vs 95 is a big palaver. however my point is fill up your car with 95 if you are feeling generous. and see what sort of difference it makes. if there is absolutely no difference just go with the cheap stuff. if on the other hand you drive a big expensive car that requires you to fill it up with premium gasoline and you feel a bit thrifty try 90. i doubt it'll make any difference (but dont try it on engines equipped with direct injection. for long term use that is). so just go with the one that your car's most happy with however please do try to find the right stuff from a trustworthy place. any chance we can subject them to a test to see wuts wut? or does anybody know who sells the right stuff?

well, its a hatchback. and it got folding rear seats i suppose. now thats like the basis for family cars isnt it? ok the load sill is a bit high up, doesnt bother me i got a thing for that name mate!
-
yep! the great man has spoken! now i'm trying to figure out where i went wrong in the said circumstances btw when are coming down to sl again mate? been waiting for ages to see that gtr of yours
-
speaking of great driving roads has anyone got any secret test tracks? i know one such track and its my favourite. its close to weliveriya and its a narrow road running through some paddy fields then up a hill on a succession of quick left right bends and a tight hairpin like junction to end it. i only drive on that bit but there's more. and its not just me being a complete hooligan. the guys who tune the race cars of cs car sales (who r located closeby) also use that bit of road to test out their settings. its over in like coupla mins. but there's no cop trouble and the residents dont mind.

spot on mate! just another german take on a british car with continental gt-esque results
-
no worries! thanks for the info mate!

sorry! i thought you havent seen the vid. yep that happens all the time when you pass links from a foreign country to sl. rather annoying i'd say. don't forget jodie kidd... as for vbh all you have to say is victoria and i get excited don't know how we ended up liking her cos if you saw her back in her early days (top gear 97-) you'd see her true form. im guessing she matured and we got more acquainted to her form. but even now when i see an old video of her i wonder what we see in her. sometimes it makes me think its that whole women being interested in car thing. but then again no one really fancied michelle newman anyone got any ideas?

body permit eh? i can still bring th car in 2 parts its in 2 seperate containers if i dont have one of those i suppose afaik the seats attract about 50000 rupees of tax. and i think its a flat rate. do you know the percentage of tax charged for an engine? is it a flat charge or is it determined my the age and/or the capacity? how does it apply for axles and suspension bits?
-
its the official video. search it on youtube
-
its shut up and drive by rihanna
-
bentley continental gt?
-
helpful information mate! appreciate it do you by any chance know that if its possible to bring a whole car down to sri lanka to be broken down for parts i.e. thats without any real papers so we dont pay an extravagent taxes on the car (apart from say a small one). the car in question is well over 10 years old. would that be a problem? if it is not possible a car of any age are we still allowed to bring the car in bits apart from the bodyshell? i'm just wondering cos i've heard there's some trouble bringing down seats and stuff. anyways if its allowed what would the tax percentage be? just think of this as a conversion kit for an impreza

i helped you get your car into the space in front of dasa. you'll probably remember me next time you see me

thanks to your 2nd statement on you err "unstable" friend i almost missed that point. petrolhead-onism is like science. if u get really involved in it and you are no different from a boffin. take someone like quintin wilson for an example. he's only halfway there. but still rather boring on telly. i've felt many a time that thanks to my fascination about cars i've arrived in this pulling game rather late (well, better late than never). i dont know if other hardcore car buffs have felt the same way but i think this would make a more family friendly discussion than that of a fat whore being given a once over by a man who cant afford to buy car big enough to have sex in
-
omg! u've turned my beautiful topic into a porno discussion. i really dont like you lot
-
ouch! thats around 250,000 dollars per kid... so an audi r8 is better value
-
i used to by it for the classic and the classifieds. but suddenly i switched from motormag to hi how much is the motormag going for nowadays?
-
now we are talking. so the vehicle is valued by those services and does it mean 2007 golf gt 1.4tsi will be valued at same 1.6 mil we'd be buying it for? or do we mention a smaller price like we may on getting anything through customs and the value detemined is more or less the value we mentioned? or does this equation involve rocket science?
-
thats more than the entire population of sri lanka. we are properly outnumbered there. what really annoys me is with such high numbers over there. why cant they ask for piece of india? they cant cos the military would cream their bottoms if they do. which is exactly what didnt happen in sl. i hope our militaty learns something from this conflict and take measures to protect the nation in the future i.e. patrol the seas, eliminating likely threats etc etc
-
well they cant flog me with cheap unmemorable prizes now cos i cancelled my subscription. well it wasn't the most exciting magazine in the world but at 100 rupees it was a very reasonable method to kill time. but at the time i cancelled it one mag was over 300 i think. could buy a new (4 week old, as we get it) autocar from vijitha yapa for nearly the same price

gihan's achieved celebrity status i see. now this will help your "pulling" power

easy mate! they charge seperately at each tollway. you cant exit or enter anywhere else other than on an interchange. n the toll booths are set up after each interchange at the beginning of the next section. so we pay by sections. and we need not worry about traffic jams at toll booths cos the roads will be very wide and the barriers will be automatically operated. and then moaning about the toll charges is a big palaver. think of it this way. if u get around 10/11km/l on normal roads. but when u maintain 70 constantly u could get around 14km/l and at a constant 90km/h u can get around 16km/l so u get over 50% mileage for each 100 rupees or so litre of fuel. so for once im with the government
