  1. please do it so i can laugh at you
  2. apparently back in january some american magazine (probably us weekly) predicted MJ's got only 6 months to live. too bad no one took it seriously
  3. ...and reports are just in that the cannabis consumption in sri lanka has doubled over the past few months
  4. thats the tail light of an isuzu double cab. the vehicle its fitted to is one of those rubbish chink jobs.
  5. it took me a while to get it. but there's a very good reason why some women don't like to wear seat belts
  6. i think this is a good opportunity to get ourselves and our stubborn female companions "trained" to buckle up as soon as they get in the car couple of things i want to figure out. do rear seat passengers have to buckle up as well? if so a car cant carry more passengers than the number of seatbelts its got rite? so no more overloading on you mpvs and 4x4s i guess
  7. i seem to have the same problem in my vitz which is supposed to share the same cv joints as the vios. i think the problem started coupla months after i got the car. but the thing here is i am actually guilty of flooring the throttle under full lock sometimes. not sure if thats what caused it in the first place. but now i'm just beyond care
  8. i dont know about high performance, but i'm definitely in
  9. i got the same problem. though mine was ruined in less than 12 months and whenever i get pulled over the cops always give me b*llocks for it when they cant find fault in the vehicle or my driving. how long would it normally take to get a license replaced? is there some "special" way we can get it done quickly?
  10. i can't help but wonder why the ltte would need a mini for
  11. thanks a lot for your advice guys! the problem is sorted it turned out to be the oil cooler at the base of the oil filter. the mechanic was confident his work on the engine was good so we dismantled the oil cooler and was about to replace its gasket cos it looked bad. but then we accidentally discovered a microscopic hole behind a rubber seal on the body of the cooler. so we replaced it and everythings fine now. i guess the problem was the engine was running at its full potential once again. and the components that weakened with the engine before the rebuild suddenly had to withstand higher forces. i wonder what will go next
  12. well its done 1000 kms since the build. and i could feel the performance getting better and better. and it still feels the same. i just poured water into the radiator and the reserve tank to flush out the oil. and the engine still had more than 3/4ths of oil left. and we got home with no problems whatsoever. even the temp gauge was reading ok. can you please explain a bit more about why its important to go easy on the engine during the run in period? and how hard revving could damage the engine? thanks!
  13. afaik vtec is variable valve lift technology whereas vvti alters the valve timing throughout the rev range. so i doubt whether alfa's invention really did have much effect on the invention of vtec.
  14. i'm guessing its a case of if you cant beat them, join them
  15. afaik the engine is just freewheeling till it reaches the idle point. but even if your theory is right is right i doubt it still uses any more fuel than it does on idle. plus it helps slow the car down which means less strain on the brakes. the reason why i disagree with this is cos unlike for instance a diesel pump efi engines are intelligent and doesnt really depend on the engine speed to decide the amount of fuel that needs to be pumped in even when you take your foot of the throttle. i think its better if someone can explain the mechanics behind this or if someone tries out the 2 methods back to back
  16. I was having a wicked day in colombo when i noticed a tiny oil leak. just below the front bumper so i opened the bonnet and inspected the whole engine bay. and weirdly all the oil seemed be leaking out of the radiator reserve tank. so i popped the radiator cap expecting the worst. and i was right. oil started gushing out of the top so i'm guessing the gaskets are ruined from inside the engine. mixing oil with coolant. i'll know for sure tomorrow morning. what i'm trying to figure out is how this happened. first of all this engine (a toyota 2c) was rebuilt a month ago. and i heard after the build the mechanic topped up the engine with 6 L of oil claiming its a new engine and since the engine was empty more oil was needed than the standard 4.5 L capacity to reach the f mark on the dipstick. i was also told to drive a bit gingerly for the first few thousand kms. which i perfectly understood as the engine needs to be run in. however i must admit i've revved it over 3000 rpm quite a few times (the redlines at 5200). which i dont think would have had any effect on this. my idea is it would have been a ) some poor quality gasket b ) having too much oil in the engine what do you guys think?
  17. actually my point is don't do it. just drive at a constant speed as much as you can cos thats the best way to save fuel. pulse and glide will require you to keep accelerating back to the desired speed again. which means you'll be a using a bit more fuel.
  18. saw this car today. was being driven by some old bloke. probably a chauffeur. nothing too spectacular about it at all. it did seem to be quite riced up though
  19. so far i've got the accommodation part sorted. so i'm guessing its just a matter of showing up at the races
  20. now thats gonna be a stunner
  21. 180-240? is this like some 0-100-0 thing? anyways the idea is to show up before 430 if you want to park your "modified" car inside the grounds right?
  22. that does sound like a good deal. but i'm sure it can be done cheaper than that. and the purity is a bit questionable. cos i only trust the stuff that comes out of a cylinder and laughing gas is actually N2O which is better known as nos
