Hello! It's been about 6 months since I bought my new ride - I decided to post some pics on it. Okay - the technicals: 2007 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe 1.8 L VTEC Drive by Wire Throttle - shifts like a manual 5 speed auto Power package - includes moonroof Sound package Tuned suspension We picked up the ride with the color combo I wanted - Nighthawk Black with Black interior. The new generation Civics are a blast to drive, and economical to boot. I love the digital dashboard, and the engineers who designed the car really spent some time behind the wheel - ergonomical and all. The auto was a toss up - please the wife or pass on the ride. I've attached some pics - the only mods I would think of are tints, bra, and fogs. The thought did cross my mind to add intake, headers and exhaust. Hello Achala, I have a 2007 Honda Civic 2 door, and it is truly a good value for your money. The car is economical and fun to drive also. I bought our one as an EX model, which is the 1.8 liter VTEC engine. Hola, Honda's are known for their reliability. They are only costly when you have to repair them! Just focus on keeping your fluids changed at regular intervals, filters as well. I have now 2 Honda products - an Acura Integra and a Honda Civic. My experience has been that as long as the fluids are changed, belts and hoses inspected, you should be all right. I change the transmission fluids once every 2 years, and fuel filter once every 3 years. As for the engine oil - it happens either every 3000 miles or 3 months. Timing belts are done every 90000 miles. The cars are a blast to drive! Your ride looks good! Cheers, Chris Abayasinghe

They call it the Nissan Versa - I think it's a 1.8L over here. They hype it up as a small car with large car dimensions. Nissan really has come a long way after Renault purchased the majority ownership rights. Look at the Altima, Maxima, 350Z, and even the Quest minivan... Cheers!' Chris

That is interesting. It now raises the next question (ahem... let me know use my economics backing) where the market demand and supply meet is when an equilibrium is met and thus sets the market price. In this instance, it seems that either the demand is inelastic (as in regardless of price, demand is present) or, a new emerging class of purchasers now have the disposable income to purchase these cars. My question, though long winded, is this: have the incomes in SL increased relative to the cost of living? As a side note - I live in the US and we have the ability to purchase cars destined only for the North American market. They only recently started to bring the EVO and STI's here. Reading from the website it seems that the engine capacities of these models here are somewhat different than the domestic market (Japanese) models. The prices of a well equipped STI run in the high 20's to mid 30's. And to the PORKSTER - I did not know you also cruised here! Cheers! Chris

Hi! I have been an avid follower of AutoLanka since I discovered the website 3 months ago. I have not been back home since 1999, except for a short vaction in 2003, and I am amazed at how expensive cars have become in SL. When I bought my ride, back in 1997, I paid only 4.5 lakhs for the ride and it was hot back then. As I read through the forums and see what the whips are going for now - it blows my mind! Can someone please educate me as to (as an example - no disrespect to the Honda crew!) how/why someone would spend 20-30 lakhs ($20,000-$30,000) for a reconditioned civic? You can buy a brand new one here for under $20,000 (the SI model I think). Any insight? Chris
