My New Ride - Honda

Hello!

It's been about 6 months since I bought my new ride - I decided to post some pics on it.

Okay - the technicals:

2007 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe

1.8 L VTEC

Drive by Wire Throttle - shifts like a manual

5 speed auto

Power package - includes moonroof

Sound package

Tuned suspension

We picked up the ride with the color combo I wanted - Nighthawk Black with Black interior. The new generation Civics are a blast to drive, and economical to boot. I love the digital dashboard, and the engineers who designed the car really spent some time behind the wheel - ergonomical and all. The auto was a toss up - please the wife or pass on the ride.

I've attached some pics - the only mods I would think of are tints, bra, and fogs. The thought did cross my mind to add intake, headers and exhaust. Any thoughts?

If you look closely at Chris's info, you will notice it clearly states he lives in the US

I guess the interior is not to everybodys taste, looks a bit too space age, to me, but that might be because I like classic nicely padded interiors, with analog dials crome, wood etc .. fairly conservative in that sence I guess

You are absolutely correct - it sucks that the Type R doesn't come ths way. The closest we have here is the SI.

By the way - you go to Riddle in Daytona?

Yes - it is an auto (the wife insisted)! I sold my Integra for this car. As for the transmission feel/performance, it also employes something called Drive by Wire throttle and holds the gears just like a manual (when you are hotdoggin the car down the hills). Where I live in Massachusetts, we have mountain passes like the drive to Agrapatana and down from Ginigathtena to Avissawella. Beautiul scenery and curves! I thought I would miss the manual, but the car has found the best of both worlds (good for both the wife and I). It also adapts based on how you drive.

Hello Blazin,

The car is built in Canada for the US/Canada market. Different from the EU market (where the car comes as a hatchback or a sedan) and different from the SL and Japanese markets. I will post some more interior pics this evening when it gets dark outside - the designers at Honda spent some considerable time behind the wheel because everything is where it should be - from the gear stalk to the radio dials.

Hey you know why Americans don’t like Japanese high tech cars in America? Because they already know that people have lost their interest in American cars and they don’t wanna lose the rest… ;)

hey chris

thank for the reply on the scions and the civics. by the way i havent bought either one yet and still shopping. Yesterday i test drove the VW rabbit and i love it. Looks cool and has a lot of features standard which comes as optional packages in the civic and the scion and hell of a lot cheaper too. Anyways i havent decided yet but trying to get the best deal out there.....
