Place To Install Ccfl Angel Eyes Halo Rings On Headlights
Crosswind replied to JayZ's topic in General Automotive
Sorry to say this but your car looks like a bit of a freak show. Get rid of the RS badge at least. -
Did u check with Wijesinghe at Swedish Trading?

Whatever you do, never fill your tires with Nitrogen. It doesn't make any kind of big savings as the Nitrogen sellers and idiots like Jami tell us and when you completely deflate your tires to pump Nitrogen, you will end up doing much more harm to the tires than good. Here's an article from Scientific American about it. The conclusion is its not worth the cost. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=nitrogen-filled-tires-fuel-efficiency (I believe we have argued about Nitrogen before)

I wouldn't take that mahattaya's advice. Having 1NZ-FE (121) engine inside doesnt make the car any greater than it is. For example, if the guy said it has the same engine as Vios, will u jump up and down about it? FYI, Vios also has the same engine. In any case, I have seen one or two Platz/Echo being advertised for 1.4 million or below.

Payload And Other Problems Of Viva Elite
Crosswind replied to KasunCharya's topic in General Automotive
When you add multiple posts, it justs annoys others. If everyone did the same thing with the forum, soon it will be congested with repetitive information. Learn to be polite. Don't act like an idiot motorist who tries to hog the road. -
I think he's doing this just to annoy you guys @Mr. Wijesinghe - Thanks for letting us know that Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon in the past. By the way, its spelled SRI LANKA and GORDINI not SRILANKA and GAUDINI.

Is this a trick question to weed out the cops in the forum?

Same as Mazda 323. Which YOM are you talking about?

It's not a matter of priority but the difference in the permit mechanism as opposed to regular sales. As a permit holder, you are buying a vehicle from the manufacturer or a distributor, not from the local agent. The agent merely acts as the middleman for a permit-based purchase. Depending on the global demand, the distributor may or may not decide to accommodate individual sales from Sri Lanka. Permits are merely a pain for them because they have to deal with single orders, as opposed to bulk orders. Permits are also a pain to local dealers because they don't add up to their sales targets. When permits get issued, the sales forecasts go wayward so its a pain for suppliers too. And most of all, permits are a pain to the other motorists in Sri Lanka, because permit holders as supposed to be intelligent educated people but they end up asking the dumbest questions possible.

I guess there are two types of people in AL Type 1: Us average people who don't seem to understand any importance of this poll or what the hell is the point of this poll Type 2: People with a much higher mental state than us who think that the determining factor of the price of a product is neither economics nor the fiscal policy of the country, but the divine intervention that is stimulated by the results of a poll such as this. They probably also seek divine intervention to increase/decrease prices of Toyotas through by other means such as assistance from people like Ruwanwelle Sobitha. As long as our intelligence level doesn't match up to the level of people like Jami, I guess we will always go 'what the f**k???' to all those highly intelligent posts.

Need Your Suggestion To Buy A Vehicle Between 1.3 – 1.8 M
Crosswind replied to chandima_J's topic in General Automotive
In addition to what Schiffer has mentioned, Relatively fuel efficient, comfortable, full option car with a good resale value within the budget would be Honda EK3. Price will vary with the YOM. http://www.autolanka.com/Buy.asp?FormName=Search&FormAction=search&ad_type_id=&ad_category_id=&search=EK3 If you are willing to compromise on comfort and age in favour fuel and resale values, you could get a pre-English number AE110. However, you can safely forget the idea of getting a vehicle less than 10 years old, that meet your requirements. -
@harshan - is this the same problem that you normally get in old diesels?
-
Constraints for permit vehicles are 1. engine capacity limitations 2. CIF value limitations (CIF <= $25000) 3. Supply and demand limitations if a model cannot meet any of the above limitations, it will not be offered.

'Jdnet', Sylvi Wijesinghe was the first person to import drag racing to Sri Lanka back in 1930s. At first he was dragging with his Austin 7, registered X 1234 from the Registrar of Motor Vehicles and personally imported from Austin Plant in Cowley, Oxford, England. The same car was used by H.M. King George the sixth for rushing to the dunny, whenever he got the urges. At first, Mr. Wijesinghe was dragging against Appuhamy's bullock cart but Appuhamy cheated him by using two bulls instead of one and won the races. So Mr. Wijesinghe decided to let people like Appuhamy rule the drag scene. The reason why I am telling you all this is you young boys don't know your history. I do not post simple Do it your self car cleaning threads. Sincerely, 'Crosswind'

Corolla AE86?

Forget the cops. Watch out for idiot journalists who might hear about it, feel like getting a scoop of things and eventually publish a comprehensive set of misinformation to try and teach some righteousness from their point of view. Remember the Hikka Beach Fest stories that spread across pages and pages of newspapers?
-
Perhaps... but do remember that booms are generally followed by busts. Like what happened to the property market few years ago. People bought lands like crazy, thinking that property will never depreciate... and guess what happened?

Getting your deposit refunded shouldn't be too hard, once you call the CPA. But I'm wondering if you guys can claim any compensation for the opportunity cost incurred.
-
According wikipedia, its classified as a station wagon. Interesting to note that the E90 (320d) is assembled all over the world but outside Germany, the X1 is assembled only in India and Mexico. That ought to give you an indication of the target markets of these two products.
-
I'm no bimmer expert but for me this is a no brainer. The trouble is X1 is neither a car nor an SUV. Those who want to go for a car would go for a car and those who want to go for an SUV would prefer the X5 or something. X1 may look nice inside the showroom, but ever seen the X1 on the road? I've seen a few permit imports and everytime I see them, it makes me go wtf... U mean Audi A4????
-
Very short answer - Hell No!

How you fight corrupt car dealers is by educating yourself. Not by ranting and complaining. As long as people remain stupid, car dealers will stay corrupt. Best example I can think of is the fanfare about Sunnys and Corollas in Sri Lanka. A large number of them have been rented out to car rentals and they have been subjected to all kinds of use and abuse. Yet, after some mechanical work, paint job and odo adjustment, here we have a carefully used, one owner, low mileage FB15! If you advertise one of those cars now, within half a day it will be sold. That's the nature of the car market here. Any wonder that sellers are corrupt?

Diy Ford/mazda Diagnotics- No Scanner Needed.
Crosswind replied to jdnet's topic in DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
Perhaps this method works for Fords made by Mazda or Fords which use Mazda components (ie. Ford Laser, Ford Escape) -
It's an Indian car made for the Indian market with the Chevrolet badge, so expect Indian quality from the car. The agent here is M*g City (search the forum about how good M*g City is). It seems many permit owners bought these back in 2007/8, especially doctors (shows how much doctors know about cars). It might be good on fuel since its an Indian car, but don't expect to find any spares or body panels outside the agent. Hey... come to think of it, don't expect to find any spares with the agent either, knowing M*g City's business strategy of making a quick buck If I were you, I'll buy a 2002 Suzuki Swift or a Chevrolet Cruze or even a 2008/9 Perodua Viva Elite and call it a day.
