  1. Think the Gold Badge Vezels are so yesterday's news... newest is the Platinum Badge with Turbo scoop.... Looks like the class distinction amongst the Vezel crowd is far more intense than we thought... no 2 Vezels are made equal it seems.
  2. On the topic of news items, thought this was rather interesting. http://www.lakbima.lk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44361:2015-03-09-06-45-20&catid=48:2012-04-02-08-50-52&Itemid=75 Surprising number of people still do not respect the junction box near the Lanka Hospitals gate on Park Road. Seen enough and more agaitated ambulance drivers and vehicles carrying patients in and out from teh hospital get in to difficulty all because some idiot driver has NO CLUE or ignorant about the fact that the junction box needs to be kept clear at all times. Sometimes cops are there, sometimes not. Most of these accidents can be avoided if all of us take individual responsibility to make the road safer.
  3. and here is another great gem in local journalism... http://www.lakbima.lk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44379&Itemid= What does the headline say? Shameful reporting.
  4. Please tell me what I am missing here.... http://www.lankadeepa.lk/index.php/top_story/301676
  5. and falling branch repairs are far tougher to fix also....
  6. Edited....
  7. Actually what you can do is remove all the plastics, take it to a nearby service station and get the kollas to give it a blast of air. Then let it dry and re fix all.
  8. In your currency.. .another 510...
  9. If leaves get in to those small spaces, they will rot and clog. This will cause water to fill the spaces during rain, and eventually start rusting. Best is to clear the leaves and debris from the area often. Yes, remove the plastic covers and check to see if all the water passages are clear of muck. You don't want a rust issue on your firewall. I had an issue like that in my old E39 and cost me dearly to repair it at Prestige. Water has collected during the previous owner's times and the rust has set it and destroyed part of the firewall, passenger foot well and the engine mount surrounds. The complete car had to be stripped to enable the repair including engine, windshield, wire harness, dashboard, front seats, etc.

    Axio Hybrid Fuel Meter

Do you have a water tank at home that sucks from a sump? Have you ever faced a situ where the last bit of water that comes from the pump if someone forgets to fill the tank is all muddy or dirty? The lower the fluid level, the more chances of it getting agitated even with the slightest movement. Same principle.

    Axio Hybrid Fuel Meter

Yes, it gives you a rough idea depending on driving condition, throttle position, gear position, speed, etc etc. It's is not an accurate figure but a guide only. You can run till 0 kms, of course. But then you will probably burn the pump off (modern immersion fuel pumps depend on the fuel in the tank to keep cool) , suck debris from the bottom in to the engine, clog your injectors, fuel lines, get stranded on the side of the road with no fuel station near by, or worse, in the night in some dark, bad area where the locals will come offer to help and in return rape your wife, daughter, sister, mother or whoever is in the car, etc or even you, if you are attractive or they are desperate enough or both. Or do much worse. I am wondering, you spend in excess of LKR4,000,000 to buy a great car. Don't be a retard, Keep your tank full or at least 1/2 full at any given time. I suggest that you go back to what you were driving before the heady days of Hybrids, either a tuktuk or a bicycle. Clearly a modern technologically superior vehicle is not for you.
  12. There is a XV. Must be related. rofl
  13. Yesterday my eyes had the misfortune of seeing a Vezel that has had so much chrome, it was glistening. I thought i was in the set of the latest Star Wars movie... Imagine this in Wine red and chrome runners, door handles, side fake vents, wheel arch lining.... I think he is cousins with that idiot in a white Subaru XV with black rubber strips around the car... almost like a XV sized condom...
  14. I believe there is no way around your freind's situ. My car also has as e of fcty skirts that have come off now after years of abuse. I thought of removing it altogether but can't cause the Italians have made the skirt an integral part of the floor pan design. The rivets holding it have come off and now in the proce of getting them redone and repainted. If your friend's car has skirts that were installed locally, I suppose the original layout will not suffer if you pull them off. This is the price of rice I suppose...
  15. Yes. Siezing the vehicle will not stop the recovery process. Remember, its the cash that counts. Not the vehicle.
  16. His problems are over. Now the guarantors will have to self immolate...
  17. Leasing companies provide a valuable service... population control...
  18. Look under the skirt machang... its amazing what a peek under the skirt reveals.
  19. Isn't there a Daihatsu workshop/show room in Kotte? On the cross road towards Koswatte Junction from near the old Latec premises?
  20. Mass immolation days are not so far ahead...
  21. YOu? getting help from a Jap forum? You cant even google the question. How you gonna get help from the Japs? ROFL!!!
  22. Presumably with a laptop...
  23. Excellent analysis... perhaps the engine is not seasoned yet? You think??? Try pouring in a bit of Emery paste or some compound paste to the sump.. that might really smoothen up the bore and given you a better mileage. I shouldn't have called you a fool. My apologies. The term escapes my mind at the moment... I am sorry, the laptop reference escapes me. Is that supposed to be funny? Or intellectual?
  24. Like the BMW X1 and the E90s... basic as they come. Even the 520D/520i is considered a fleet range car in the UK.
  25. ....and we don't even own Voxys yet we now know more than Voxy owners... LOL!!
