What you mean by jumping exactly. There is a problem with Multimatic gear boxes if you didn't maintain it properly. And I have experienced sudden RPM drop while driving that caused sudden jerks kind of thing from engine due to sensor errors which solved after tune up.

Guys I am in a dilemma to deside change the shock absorbers or not. I get some rattle sounds ( dug .. dug .. dug ..) when going in damaged roads. One EK3 user said its normal with EK3s. No visible damages or wear in bushes or components observed during the service. How do I figureout to change the shock absorbers or not.

I don't think scooty will dissapoint you. However I doubt if battery is fully dead and depending on the condition/unused period it's re-usable. There is a mechanic I know which he recovered my brand new battery which I used few months, but went dead again since I didnt use the bike much. This is the procedure he did. Since its small one you may try out if battery didn't charged after start using it. Remove all battery acid left in the battery. Fill the battery with hot boiling water (be cautious). Keep air tight for 24hrs. Remove the water. Wash the battery with hot water again. let it completely dry. Add battery (sulphuric) acid and charge it with external charger with low current. This will remove the lead-sulphate generated over the time and clean the +/- plates.

As you said car is in excellent condition and if its Vi (VTEC) engine take it to test ride, do the engine scan for check light errors. That 14.5 - 15 is ok price. It is the same price we saw similar cars in few months back. Also see why it's in open papers and check service records if available.

A friend of mine used a Scooty pep for almost 2 years as a daily ride. And she still use it once in a while. No issues with reliability or spare parts. If its only short distance travel I think it's good value for money. No experience with Bajaj so far.

thanks for the info. What my plan is I can go for my next car with say 1.8M - 2M. So I have the option to go for some of the Jap cars at that price with this so called English plates. So I am thinking of getting 318i YOM after 1995 (if possible) around 1.6M - 1.7M. And have couple of hundred thousand left in my pocket... which I believe sufficient enough to maintain it for 1 or 2 years (depending on the what i get) .. If things are favorable I can continue of not get downgraded to Jap again

If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it! I've heard this before. But I can't give any specific reason as to why I want BMW except that getting it is a kind of a Challenge for me. And as i stated before I have no issue in fuel economy, etc and most importantly no other priorities and commitments like family , wedding, housing loan.. at least for another 1 to 2 years.... I can get one. Try that out and use it for may be even 3 months to 1 year .. see how it goes. Then I can decide to keep it or resell it again. hmm.. I know it sounds weird and not fit to the BMW profile.

Correct. I know.. none of my colleagues, relatives friends does own a BMW/Mercs. Only my father owned some old VW, Peugot, Fiat and Fords in 60s - 80s. So in typical Sri lanka context I am supposed to be a normal guy who use a common Jap car. That is the reality with me.
