  1. I think its just your paranoia dude, as the illumination on this led is damn similar to the pic you posted earlier
  2. To add to this, I would be lovely if someone could add if they could make a 100+km go in one trip, idea Colombo Kandy given the hilly driving condition. Thanks
  3. Lovely work on these threads gentlemen, amidst all the friction a lot of great facts have been discussed, rather happy to see a local forum being informative even along with such a bland topic, referring to most of the EV threads up/ discussed cheers
  4. Considering a Nissan Leaf as a daily runner, what have I been smoking!

It was ordered by my parents, though pretty much 70% of my commute is going to be done in it,

the ghastly thing is in the showroom, awaiting paperwork, delayed due to the festival

Strangely enough, stepping inside, its a fun little thing to scoot around in, I don't find the armrest issue a problem as I'm used to the center console.

For the first time in my life, we've purchased a new vehicle, and I ain't keen in bringing it home in garage plates lol,

      I Ii...

Yes yes, I will, been a very busy week, and thank you,

I still disagree on that exhaust tip

  5. Have you swapped your tail lights bulbs into led types? Usually normal filament bulbs disperse light all over, lighting up the entire assembly, But I have a feeling, if you could swap your bulbs to Led type with minature projector something like this, you might be able to get a similar effect, I have a similar pair of bulbs in my reverse lights, I'll upload a pic of it tmrw, They would cost about $20 though But do mind the 6500K colour of the leds through the stock red lens gives off an orange hue, A new bright pair of normal filament bulbs, might also give the desired effect, If you haven't touched the bulbs yet, they are probably old, There might also be buildup of grime inside the tail light lenses, do look into that too, Also, a nice coat of car wax on the old taillights to augment the finish,
  6. Will do mate, I'll be seeing it in the weekend, also its awaiting a few subtle upgrades, bewarned Its just a run of the mill hilux with a few lights on
  7. Um I think that would have been well thought by the manufacturer and already limited by the speedo reading and gear too, complete electronic mechanism as it is somewhat of a sophisticated gearbox too. If yours engages at a speed well above stationary I reckon something is very wrong.
  8. Of course, I have no intention of sending 100w x2 of old school light glory onto my follower lol Besides the relay is wired to the stock reverse lamp along with a in-dash kill switch, so Absolutely works only on reverse, and that too can be switched off.
  9. I've purchased a pair of these locally, (H3)/100w rating, for my reverse spot lights, Awfully bright, amazing how such a tiny bulb throws out so much light, cost around 1000LKR and it fried the relay, had to resort to a Diesel glow plug 50A one, woes of going after more and more light And yes they are very yellow
  10. We should have a club or a separate thread for our so called "light fetish" lol
  11. Hiace hamster sounds better
  12. I'm going to wait for your verdict on this, as my other car has a set of tired H4s which I'd like to replace, Please do post those pics!
  13. Customs' scored 47% off my last online venture, beware

Motor spares are heavily taxed I guess. If the item is marked as automotive accessory the applied % is high.

@tiv no I didn't get a tracking no. Hope they haven't marked it as automotive accessories.

Marked or not marked they know the item after opening, and if undervalued, apparently younger chaps go online to find the exact value and confront you with it,

@asrock, rather poor service on the sellers part if he has not offered tracking,

  14. Wild guess; may have something to do with countries too Euro, Jap, 'Murican,
  15. I paid similar for my HB4 set, actually only H4 s are cheap, maybe due to their high turnover
  16. This kinda output would be rather loud, even for a large cabin such as the Hiace, I doubt you'll be able to use more than 20% of it whilst driving.
  17. You could get a competitive brand, USED for a lot less mate, check that "Quick" sale site and its likely you'll get held by customs and taxed a max of 47% so be sure to add that value when comparing.
  18. The sudden kick you mentioned, is probably due to a loose belt gripping time to time, as Davy said, Upon simple nudge on the belt, if the travel /sway more than 2cm roughly sidewats, indicates if its loose, as for rack ends, best replace
  19. Aha now thats better, Presea's gonna keep his Nightbreaker set when he sees this,
  20. Yes, the owner is a friend +1. No matter what you drive, there's going to be some chap who's going to criticize it, be it a cop, be it a stranger, be it your mom Seriously dude, that pic from the ebay thread, with the lights and all, trimmed to something like a strip in standard aspect ratio would be killer
  21. These must have been quite nippy, unladen with the turbo, as you are from kandy, you must be knowing of a van pained pearl orange, owned by a reputed paint shop in kandy, which was a OEM turbo if I recall right.
  22. Wouldn't the YOM criteria not allow this to be imported? This looks old
  23. Be careful when using Google Maps in the Kurunegala area, they seem to be counting footpaths as well, ended up in blind ends twice.

Thanks guys, didn't know they had the feature, I drew em a new one

  24. I feel the Stingray version looks good except for the "bit too much" grill lighting. There's a JDM one too, Besides if you get the normal one, you'll always be nagging to yourself why you didn't get the better one, And someday when you want to sell it off, the car sale mudalali is gonna say "aiyo sir make normal eka ne, shingray modal eka wadeiyen denna thibba" http://www.batfa.com/newcar-wagonrstingray.htm
