  1. If you have not done a good overhawl or your technician is not good enough you will get frequent overhauls. I got this sleeve experiance through a lotto model Townace I had. Also I would like to remind you that 1C and 2C( first generation engines [without the brake vaccum unit on tappet cover]), they were very good and sleeves were also long lasting. I think that Toyota had used a cheaper sleeve for the 2C second generation engines as they design the engine for limited lifetime.
  2. I agree with you that with original 2C engine (comes with CE 110) it can run up to 200,000Km. But after that the mostly worn out part is cylinder sleeves. After replacing with Indian sleeves or Polgasovita sleeves (not Toyota genuine sleeves) it will do more than 300,000Km. The same engine with turbo unit (2C-T) comes on Premio. So the premio engine should wear out faster as it operates with higher compresion ratio. Vehicle manufacturers develop one engine and they use the same in different models of vehicles. Further, If more power is needed a turbo unit is introduced.
  3. Thx Machan, The link you showed is exactly what I am looking for but, it was already sold. I checked it few weeks back. Also I would like to take this opportunity to inform the editor to remove the sold vehicles from the list. Thx
  4. Dear All, I am planning to buy Toyota Corolla CE110 (diesel) or Toyota Corona Premio CT 210 (diesel). Can anyone help me to select in between. Also please advice on the prices ( I am serching for numberplate with English letters).
  5. Sri Lankan Cops Useful Tips to up-date your general knowledge 1. A single Cop, CANNOT stop you on the road ! (it's prohibited and you are not suppose to Stop either !) 2. A single cop CANNOT seize your driving license ! 3. Only a 'traffic control' cop has the authority to request anything MORE than your NIC when you are behind wheels. 4. A single traffic cop NEVER can press charges against you. HE MUST HAVE A WITNESS IF DOES SO. 5. That's why you always find 'two' cops together 6. Police is a peace controlling force. NOT AN ARMED FORCE !!! They are prohibited by LAW to carry anything more than a BATON ! (but due to the prevailing WAR, they are issued Guns by a supreme court ruling, till the war ENDS) 7. So, if a Cop pulls a gun on you, YOU CAN sue him !!! 8. If a COP claims that you are drunk, you have the FULL right to ask for a 'balloon test', if they DO NOT HAVE it in their possession on the time of your request, you can GO. 9. Only Traffic Cops have the RIGHT to stop any moving vehicle. (that's why you find at least 1 normal cop in every checkpoint even though they are manned by Army) 10. COPS, CANNOT ENTER YOUR HOME OR WORK PREMISES without a court Order. You have the FULLEST right ASK for it, if they try to enter and also DENY their entrance if you 'feel' like it. 11. A traffic cop CANNOT seize your driving license UNTIL he fully states the crime you have committed and the relating penal code violation. If he is unsuccessful in stating them, you can go free 12. If a traffic cop seizes your license by force and ask you to come to the police station to collect it. DO NOT GO ! Lodge a complain directly to Police commission or the 'Provincial IGP', YOU can get the cop SACKED for his misconduct and unruly behaviour. 13. (for girls), If a COP asks for your Identifications and (if you think he's doing it on purpose to harass you) you CAN deny his request. He cannot arrest you ! you have the RIGHT to request for a Female Police officer. 14. (for Girls) If you are asked to be Body checked, it's your right to get it done by a female cop. If they don't have one in present, DENY their action.

    Octane You Use??

The difference according to my knowledge is this. you have to refer to your vehicle manufacturer specification. If your manufacturer recommends to use oct 90, then you can use both oct 90 & 95. But if recommends to use oct 95 you can not use oct 90 and it will create knock. I can remember sometime back Honda Civic manufacturer made a paper adverticement saying that if local fuel is used the vehicle may not give good performance because local fuel contain lesser Octane against specified. (At the period only one type of petrol was available). further, If your engine compression ratio is higher you have to use higher octane. Petrol with higher octane percentage means higher anti knocking properties. Manufacturer specification availble in vehicle Service Manual

  8. There is a used vehicle parts assembly company in a BOI zone. They sell vehicles of around 13 years old but, unregistered in Sri Lankan market. I am interested to buy from them if RMV does the registration. Is anyone aware of registration of these vehicles?
