1. Im not the only one then! . Anyway all the very best team AL!
2. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Schiffer" data-cid="276009" data-time="1687930">
so i was choosing between the 700D and a D5300

although D5300 is a better camera in comparison specially on low light photos.
but i found that lenses for Nikons are way too expensive.
for example i wanted to get a 50mm f 1.8 lens. for the canon its 13500 and for the nikon its 25000

Do note that OP

But certain lenses like 55-300, 55-200 are bit pricey for canon (Dx compatible ones). Isn't it? D5300 has a bigger sensor , wifi , but lacks touch screen. I thought of going for a D3300 as Im on a tight budget. Have you given up the 100D thought?
3. I too having the same issue and couldnt find a solution yet. I contacted a windscreen fixing joint and its seems like Im the first person to ask to repair it!
4. Its bit difficult to get one for the Awrudu machan. Got painting stuff for the house with new clothes to the whole family and total cost exceeded 700D range!. Anyway thank you very much for the help.
5. No machan, can't access the link with my phone. D7000 is about 80k without lenses and its beyond my reach. At least l'll try for a 700D .
6. j Thanks mate. After listening to peri and you, l'll try to extend my budget a bit to go for a 700D.
7. Its a bit of a dilemma to select a entry level dslr below 70k. Although 100D has a touch screen, in few other areas d3300 is better. May be those diffrences won't affect a bigginer like me.
8. @kMeeg, Thank you very much for the input.D3300 costs 64500 with 18-55mm vr2 kit lens. I don't know the price of 700D here. I can't afford to spend beyond 70k range. I thought of spend bit less on the camera and go for a 70-300mm lens later. @peri, Thanks for the valuable info. Intended to use it as a hobby and love bit of wildlife photography.Thats why thought of spend bit less on a cammera and invest on a affordable telephoto lense later. Due to my poor storage of the cammera , sx40 has developed a small dot inside the lens . I still not take it to a repair joint. Mate, can you recommend a place to get it sorted.
9. Digging up this old thred to get some expert opinion on choosing a entry level dslr. Did bit of searching and went through few online reviews and im now bit biased towards nikon d3300. What are my other options ? Im currently having cannon sx40 point & shoot .
10. I'll check with the garage and let you know. Hope they haven't sold it for scrap metal!
11. If you want a crank shaft of a d15B, let me know. Because Ive put a new engine few months back and old one is at the garage. If it still available at the garage I can give it for free. crank pully key was not in good shape, so still you need a new pully and key.
12. Like Davy said earlier, this is a common issue in Eg and Ek civics. In garage bas terms, its due to "worn out key". I don't know the correct term for it .Its a small square shape metal part that holds the pully in its place. Usually it is sold with the crank pully and cost 6k about 5 months back at US auto parts, Wadduwa.May be you will be lucky enough to find the "key" for lesser price.

One thing that you have to realise is you are buying a old car and it will give some niggles and the way you treat the car after the purchase will be the most important factor.

About 5 years back I was in a similar situation like you to find a non raped , manual Eg8. Bought one for bit lesser price and fixed most of the stuff as it was my dream car since the O/L days. Still its my daily runner and most of my colleagues wonder why im still not giving up this 19- car as most are obsessed with aquas, Vezels . I used to see 2 cars (not white though) in my area , if I get a chance, I'll see whether they meet your criteria.
15. What do you mean by a nose cut panel?
16. Factory spec was something like 175/65/13 .But certain versions came with 15 wheels originally. There has to be increased workload on shocks but I haven't encountered major suspension repairs during past two years except routine maintenance.
17. Ive upgraded to 195/50/15 from 13 in my EG8 and so far no issues for past 2 years. Only downside is ride quality is bit poor in bad roads.
18. Machan, Were you the guy with a tripod at the hut ?
19. Did you remove the front bumper?. I think its accessible easily aftr removing the bumper.
20. Ive read a DIY article on swapping needles in another forum. (I couldn't find the link now). You need to have a small fork to pull it out gently.
21. Ive made a mistake when writing it. Actually I had to remove the needle to swap it with a red one, so I was able to fix it back at the correct point of the dial when reinstalling. If you are 100% sure that your cooling system is fine you can remove the needle and fix it back at desired position. But its bit tricky thing to do and keep it as your last option.
22. Happy birthday mate!
23. Using second set of Victra (195/50/15) and not a single moment of loss of control even though Im travelling daily on Panadura - Rathnapura Rd.
24. You too belong to the same crazy group machan!. Only issue is its bit difficult to find time to do these crazy stuff nowadays.
25. For the speedometer, you can swap the old mechanism with the odometer .(surprisingly those are made by seiko) Only issue is that you have to remove the speedo needle to remove the old mechanism. You can use a fork to remove the needle but I won't recommend it unless you are good with these sort of diy work and brave and may be little crazy!
