Hi, although this is an older post, the prices are bit equal even now for Pajero (SWB). Why does it seem like you are kind of surprised?

Yes Are there 2WD CRV? I really don't need a 4WD. My requirement is that the vehicle should have a good ground clearance as I do not want to think many times before turning in to a road from the main road. You probably know the reality of Sri Lankan roads out of Colombo Please check your inbox. Also is it possible that I can easily test such things without a mechanic? Are there any dash board indicators that will show when real wheels get power? Thanks so much for replying and really appreciate it.

Hello experts, I am looking for a vehicle preferably a SUV (Which we normally call Jeep.) that suits me for the following reasons. 1. Long distance travel on weekends (Around 400kms) 2. May be petrol but it has to be economical (Therefore not thinking about X-Trail as I heard it runs only 6km per ltr) 3. Maintainability (ability to find spare parts ...etc bit easier) 4. Auto is better but I am not stick in to that. Therefore even Manual does not matter. Just saw a Honda CRV 2000 that the price was 2.5 Million which had some issues that they have removed the 4WD shaft (I was told that it saves some fuel but I really do not know that.), problems on some door locks, ABS sensor out etc. Is a CRV full-time 4WD or (AWD) and what do I need to check when looking for next time? Kindly post anything that you think is worth to know. Thanks so much in advance.

I saw two vehicles when i was seeing jeeps (basically old ones) that they have replaced the engine and the number of the original engine has cut on the new one by removing its own number. It is a common thing as I found and for the good, I avoid buying such vehicle at last. Anyway some says its not a huge problem and only the chassis number should remain original. Hope some expert can explain the legal issues of this and the info we need to know. Thanks.

Many threads here mention not to buy it but some says its Ok. I have no idea and also prefer to know pros and cons of a Panda brand from the users and technical experts as well. Appreciate if anyone can explain it well. Thanks.

Electric Brake Booster + Master Cylinder
Nishan.dj replied to Nishan.dj's question in Mechanical problems
It is completed and working fine with additional boosting power than previous. Just reading the mentioned way and thinking of a way that can be applied. Do you have any idea about it or you know anything about it? Appreciate if you can share. Thanks. -
Hi experts, I have read a bit about power brake booster and came to know about hydroboost. Hope you experts know more about it and kindly share the knowledge about hydro-boost / electric brake booster for the master pump. Also Is it possible to convert a normal vacuum master pump in to hydroboost? I am having a 4DR5 jeep and willing to experience this conversion if it is possible. Kindly share your idea, experience, knowledge...anything. Thanks a lot in advance.

I think this car would be the best option when considering fuel economy, comfort and low maintenance cost for the given budget. If there are any, please post. Thanks.

Hello, First of all I need to mention that I am not knowing a lot about cars but I did a search about AE100 because on several posts it was mentioned that It is good with better fuel consumption, comfortability and kind of easy maintenance car for a range of 1.2-1.5 million rupees. However I found the below models of AE100; AE100 Sprinter Corolla Marino Ceres L Touring S Limited Corolla SE Limited L-Touring Corolla XE Limited Can someone kindly explain me a bit about what these models are and a bit information about how better each of them compared to each other. What I really need to know is, If I buy a AE100, what kind of model I need to look for if I consider Fuel consumption, Maintainability, Comfortability ...etc for a long distance travel. Also I don't know about them as if they come with 1300CC or 1500CC engine. Again, I kindly expect someone know a lot on this will post a detailed reply and really appreciate that. Thanks.

Hi Friends, As I posted from the previous post, the clutch pump (master) of the 4DR5 Jeep was sleeved and I think its not done well. However I want to find a better place that I can buy a brand-new (may not japan but good in quality ) one. If anyone knows a place or an agent who sell only clutch related parts(better to visit them than wasting time on small shops) please reply to the post. Thanks in advance.

The guarantee is for 25 years for the panels. If the panel is A Grade then it will work much longer I think. Other than the price, it is environmental friendly too.

I asked from Access Solar and they said 4.5 laks for a unit that output 110 units per month..
-
Just an idea. You can set up a solar system for lightning with LEDs for the bulbs that you light mostly. But initial cost will be bit high and you may have to spend sometimes with it to set it up if you do it on your own. But there are companies where they set up bigger panels that will produce electricity to the main grid at at night you can consume those units you uploaded. Only the difference you will have to at the end of the month. So this costs a bit more. These are options that you can do. But certainly, reducing the usage will help you save. Thanks.

Finding a housing is difficult as it looks like sealed beam with the art of the glass. It gives a different look to it. I wanted to fix xenon first and with the suggestions you all did, I did forget it.

My opinion is that, If the conversion from Patrol to Diesel is needed, it has to be done in a correct way, which sometimes may require not just the engine but lot of replacement of other parts of the vehicle. And even after the conversion, It is hard to expect what you experienced earlier with the patrol engine. If you do not have any financial issue and doing this as a hobby, its so good to proceed which you may be able to learn a lot. Otherwise no point. What WCW also pointed was true and 100% correct. Just my opinion.

Thanks whmsujith. Do you have any idea what would be the correct number of watts for 4DR5? I had 75W ones and do not know whether it is the correct ones. If know, Kindly reply. Thanks.

Hi friends, I want to find Koito (hoping that it would be the best one. If not please reply.) headlight sealed beam for my 4DR5 jeep. Currently I have put some Chinese ones (100W) but its too bad. If anyone knows a place at panchikawatte or somewhere (May be the agent of Koito bulbs or the ones you suggest) please kindly post it here. Thanks so much.

Great. Does it costs a lot? How much was it to re-sleeve a wheel cylinder? Also please post how it is for the master pump as well. I do need to go there and get those things done for my jeep too. Thanks so much.
-
Thanks so much for the info. I think the places you suggest may have brand-new pumps but the costs will be so high. If I have no option, that would be the last. About re-sleeve, I do not have any idea but heard it is possible too. I want to know more from someone who has already done it because re-sleeve has to be done properly from an experienced person according to my knowledge. Anyway kindly tell me more if you know about it. Thanks so much.

It is the master pump that the pedal is connected to(Closer to the brake booster). There is a piston (or something like that) inside it and it has been worn out with the time it has been used. Temporarily I replaced washers but it will not be the best solution. Does 4DR5 can have another model of clutch as well? If so what models are they? Thanks so much.

Hi friends, My 4DR5 J44 jeep had a oil leak in its clutch and as the mechanic said, the cylinder has worn out and need to replace the kit. As he said, replacing washers won't help and will come the leak soon after sometime. If you have any experience on this, kindly give me an advice what to do. The pump is original 4DR5 one and what options do I have? I asked for a replacement kit that may cost around Rs.8000 but I want to know which is the best thing whether it is to replace the full kit with washers and all or find a full unit. (total pump). If so suggest me a location that I can find them easily please. Thanks so much in advance. Nishan
