here's the engine build. its a lot more intricate than 8865, which used square blocks as pistons. purists would say nay, but this has some pretty realistic detail.

Redesign Of Allion And Premio For 2015
Komisiripala replied to mazda axela's topic in General Automotive
crosswind what the hell is happening man?? its a toyota-jism all over autolanka! -
well two things come to mind: 1. if you don't have ABS, don't follow so close at those speeds. you can't expect your car to outperform its limitations. sri lankan drivers tailgate quite close, as compared to other countries. as you have seen now, its really dangerous. plus its your fault so if the other driver is a tool he'd mak you pay for his repair too (which is well within his rights) 2. you can upgrade to discs. i upgraded my civic for similar reasons. but as it has been said many times with those who know more than i, a drum and disc of similar diameter will have equal brake force. a drum maybe even more. BUT, discs don't have heating issues easily, and they work in the rain. drums on the other hand get waterlogged and then they're nothing better than ornaments. i think you can upgrade to ABS as well, but i don't know how feasible that is. or even whether its possible. a set of rear discs with trailing arms, and upper arms (with ABS lines) cost me 25,000 from US car sales dehiwala. in 2010.

Let's not get this thread closed down. Would be unfair to our saangyong community. Mods can we have a juice_whoring thread dedicated to our resident cave troll? Maybe you could move all his posts to that from the point they went OT? In an effort to keep AL troll free of course

Low Fuel Light Still On Even After Pumped Fuel
Komisiripala replied to asankabs's question in General
So did the light turn off when you topped up at the other station? -
Try cap/cup raja in panchi. Darley road, actually. A little past st Joseph's entrance, towards maradana, there's a small road to your right. At the very beginning of the row of shops. Down that road, second or third shop is cap raja. Ask him.

Low Fuel Light Still On Even After Pumped Fuel
Komisiripala replied to asankabs's question in General
Over time, as sludge builds up In the tank, this can happen. I've heard the same. The octane level however is not an indicator of the purity of the petrol. Just it's combustibility. All in all it's a safe practice to pump before warning light comes on unless it's an unavoidable circumstance. But OP's logic I can't understand. Because I'm yet to see a far off rural hidey-hole in our blessed nation that doesn't have a brand new Prius/vios/premio/axio etc. Those cars must be pumping walas thel -

Low Fuel Light Still On Even After Pumped Fuel
Komisiripala replied to asankabs's question in General
A little context would've helped maybe? -
started on 8880 after a small break. first the F1 racer. will do the 8865 jeep afterwards. thought i'd save the supercar for last. here goes. my god this set has tons of new parts. most are exclusive. the level of detail is migraine-inducing.

Low Fuel Light Still On Even After Pumped Fuel

let me simplify this for you. i don't think anyone who has the revolutionary thinking pattern you do got what rumesh was trying to explain. you sir, did the equivalent of throwing a hotdog down a hallway. permit car? -
RDSS, or R Dumi##a Silva Syndrome: selective retrograde amnesia of events leading up to controversy, where the patient is liable to be held responsible for said events. usually characterised by outbursts such as "mata mathaka naa oi" unless it was a top secret bathroom they took you to and showed you their WillVi's...

Crosswind is right on this. If your handcarried WT is maattu-fied at customs carrier will be in hot soup. Some laws still haven't been amended post war. But they do have short range kiddies stuff at above outlets. Dunno what the logic behind that is. I remember my nieces playing with one of those sets not too long ago

since the tinkering is taking decades, i thought i'd go ahead and attend to the finer details in the meantime. after some DAvy-consultation (after which i'm sure his colleagues at work think he runs a chop shop on the side) here's what i've been upto: the bluebird badges. shipped both in from japan. wanted them looking mint. so as discussed i cleaned them and sprayed a few even coats of satin black matte. leaving this now to dry and settle for 48 hours. after which i'll go at it with 2000 grit water sandpaper and bring out the chrome lettering. ooh this oughtta look gooood then moved onto the front grille. didn't take any before shots of this, but davy will vouch for the 47 years of grime caked on it. the rear surface was a nightmare. tackled it with vim liquid and a brush. 90% off. exposed the metal again, and it look shinier than the front! but there's more gunk here and there, so tomorrow i go at it with a screwdriver & remove all of it. then will be spraying the rear surface black, well, only to keep it from rusting and to protect from elements. the front was n bad shape too. dings and dents were first corrected with a set of pliers, and patience! then i set about trying to remove the tar stains. tried kero, thinner, turpentine, brasso... nothing worked. finally used a coarser grit sandpaper and brasso and evenly rubbed it off. that worked, at least, although it scuffed up the surface a bit. at least now it doesn't look like Mr. T had a money shot over it. then went full samurai on it and patted down globs of brasso, and let it set into a thick crust. lots of elbow grease later, it surfaced like this: sadly no before shot to show the dirt on that side either. sorry folks was too preoccupied and ejoying this i forgot to document. tomorrow i spare two lines and plastidip the rest. this should look epic. also, going to start on the headlight surrounds. havne't decided what to do with them yet...

Looking For A Good Auto Electrician
Komisiripala replied to harsha Gunarathne's question in Electrical problems
let me just recommend malinga auto electricals, in bellanwila here. his work is amazing, workshop is the neatest i've seen in sri lanka. not the cheapest, but work is sterling. nice chap too. knows his stuff. has done a lot of work for me, and other AL members. including muditha420. 0773072840. i've tagged the place on foursquare as "malinga auto electricals" if you need coordinates. -
so finallly, all done: car is pretty heavy. and the suspension is so awesome! just look at the travel in this shot, and the fact that it steers/has a working driveshaft with a diff (no LSD, that's in the next model) is beyond awesome! here's a shot of the interior, so that's that. will keep this around for a few days, dismantle and start on 8880. that looks to be a far greater challenge!

i knew they made trail bikes. there was a famous one rom back in the 80s. but i didn't know they made superbikes. nice!
-
