Sorry to bring back an old topic But just a saw a red rx-7 FD 1994 and it said unregistered. How can such an old car be unregistered. They were asking 12laks for it which seems decent for a car that has never run in SL. Since the displacement is so low 1.3L engine Im thinking about importing a 2002 under a blue permit. Can anyone recall in the history of SL has the duty rate for cars gone down? Common sense would go against a duty reduction. THE IMF is hanging over our heads and not releasing money unless we change our budget to increase revenue. The used car sales would slow. Why would you buy a used car when you can get a new car for cheaper. and there would be more money leaving our economy going to japan china and Europe. But then SL is not governed on common sense.

I was told there is a guy that brings down land rover defender "kits" and assembles them in Sri Lanka and its cheaper than buying from frontier. I See that LR assembles defenders in Pakistan so why would it not be done here. Also if we can assemble the mirco SUV, why not a defender. Thanks for any info
