hi guys... Do you know any thing about Import of Double cabs. Is this rules effecting importing double cabs too? So far you were able to import double cabs upto 5 years old. Hope Im correct. Please give your comments on this. thanks.

Never compare a Land rover defender to a Japanese vehicle. Defenders got a rough ride. But some one with a passionate for such a vehicle will never feel that. My idea is ; TD5 is smooth when a power upgrade is done, coz other wise there is a lag. Puma is also the same but, a bit better. You will hear the engine noise inside the cabin than a Japanese vehicle. Even the Puma's the same For one thing… I like the TD5 than the Puma. (I own both the kinds) Td5 has a better gearing than the Puma(6 forward)

as far as i know the battery system is the only different. Wheel bearings is same as a normal car. ...

I think Body kit dudes are matured... or economy measures may have put them back...

Machan we have a ke72 Which is also known as a DX Wagon … 15-8xxx. This car we had it from new and it is a high roof model too though its KE72. Difference I know between KE72 and KE74 is KKE72 has a 1300cc engine with NO rear wippers and heated glass. And the rim size 12 inch. Ke 74 Comes with 1500cc engine with Rear wipper and heated glass. Also the rim size is 13 inch. I may be wrong. But thats what the toyota hand book says. KE72 and KE 74 shares the same hand book. (We have all these hand books , manuals and every thing still , coz we are the first owner) Im telling you guys ... this is a very good car. It has no much power on it. But she has served well for such a long time. This car was always used as a second or the third car. But this was bought for me and my brother to go to school (my first day schooling from grade 1 this was in use and never every had let down.. To my knowledge the body is very hard. We only have painted twice and that may be its always parked in a garage. Engine seems to be solid as well again as we have never touched it. The milage is some where 200,000 km now. Apart from wear and tear parts such as clutch, tyre-rods, suspension parts nothing has gone wrong so far. In my view, Generaly this is a good car compared to other cars made at that time.

We had both P25V (4 wheel version of po5), and a TOWNACE CR27 (LOTTO) Townace is good too. Very comfortable. But after all I like the po25. it came with 4d56 turbo intercooler engine with loads of power and many more options like dual air condition, sun roof...etc. we sold it for 1 million about one year back. Fuel consumption wise townace is lot better. I also has driven a 2wd po5. I recommend not to go for that coz its bit bouncing. Generally PO5’s are good work horses, but parts are expensive. Both the models have ups and downs. If for family use, I think u better off going to a CR27.

Does any one know any thing about 325-XXXX numbers... I've been told by some people that RMV going to issue English numbers for these as well.

if theres no timming chain or belts .. it should be timming wheels as like some Isuzu engines. Some fiat cars use this technology. Any way a google search should find answers

Theres a auction comming in Army. Buy some land rover defenders... and then sell it later. But that wil not a be a steady income. I know a fella who do this job. I think investing in stock market would do better for ur money. But study well before doing it. Other wise how ever instead of earning, u will loose in big time.

I dont think u can locate it any where. I tried every where. Then ended up importing a set from uk. i was looking for a 16 inch (For a defender).. which is much more harder to find.. any way good luck. I f u find pls let know coz i need a 15 inch set too For mine it cost me about £600 for tyres and freight and clearing it cost me about rs 20000.00

in 2008 Navy auction at Walisara a 4DR5 long wheel base jeep went for some where arround 350,000. It has to be out from a kr 41 or a kr42 coz guy who told me said it came out from a noah petrol.

I rang few people and found out that a petrol unit (Toyota townace engine and gearbox) will go for some where around 40k – 60k. That’s not too bad I think.

IRD Unit is some thing that goes wrong mostly and then the check the sunroof, and the rear door lock. IRD unit checking – turn the steering to any side until locked and then reverse. If u don’t hear a noise do the same to the other side. If no noise that’s good. Sunroof – Pour some water and see if theres any water leaks. Even there’s NO leak open the sun roof and seen it physically to see the railing are corroded. Rear door lock This lock work into two stages. Fist stage the glass slides few millimetres down and then the door open. If the glass don’t come down it will break the glass. So what sl people do is adjust the door when this locking system fails working. There are many more to go wrong. But these are the most common faults. If u need any more help pm me. Hi.., let me know if theres any to get down from uk machan. Hope i can get u some help on that side. You can find townace petrol engine and gearbox very cheap in sri lanka. There are people who convert them into diesel, and that petrol unit will be useless. You can get hold of some thing like that cheaper. They are new too. But they have ECU's. If you are interested you can get hold of one of these easily. I too will give a try if you are ok with it. let know BLu3HaZe

Sahara 100 (Brought down by the company) are around 8 milllion.They are non turbo Sahara 101 ( Japanese version) They are bit expensive around 10 million. They are turbo and with height control.. They are very good. But before buying check the height controls are working. Other wise it will cost about rs 500,000 to repair it. Also 101 comes with illuminated dash. These engines are very hardy. They are work horses.

Theres a good fella who was earlier from outdoorsman. He visit homes as well or u could take ur vehicle to him. He repairs my vehicles and many of my friends too. So far he’is good. But he is not the correct man for cars, coz he dont like to take them in. Only 4x4. Very good in land cruisers BJ , LJ series.. Nissan Patrols, LAND ROVERS...ETC If some one want his details please PM me.

there are some choppers for £50.00 GBP. i think they come from hong kong. one of my friends bought one of these and fist time he landed it bit too hard made the chopper to be in few pieces. Another fella told me that same type one, he has sent it for more than 100 yards (I don’t know how he calculated it) up and as soon as it away from the transmission coverage it was thrown away and couldn’t control. His one has landed on a gutter pipe. i think better to go for a good one than cheap makes. Ebay has many of these. Pls try www.ebay.co.uk
