  5. Count me in !
  6. Hi Guys I have been going to Milroy since 1999. Haven't had any issues and their service has been great! Had different models with varying displacements and they have always done a good job on them always. They will advice on parts, replacements and whether a job can be done or not. They will not go on asking to replace parts unless its a must and they are very good at identifying the core issues. They have a parts stocked in plenty and at reasonable prices. Prices wise they are much better than the agents or Beddawala. Please watch out at Beddawala, they try to mate parts that are not meant for certain models. Once they offered me a 320 exhaust for a 325 and when I said it wouldn't fit I was told that it wouldn't make a difference. However, he did come in handy way back when I had the E30 and wanted a brake booster. Cheers
  7. Our initial plan was to not go too far and keep it a bit closer to Colombo. Lets see what the other guys have to say... Would definitely be nice !!!
  8. Thanks for the wishes guys !
  9. Thats something we have to work on a make it happen like the first meeting.... guys ?!? Plan and dates...
  10. Cheers. Need to read up a bit more on the F30. For those who think and have a misconception of them being Gas guzzers—no way. Been driving different variations/displacements over the last couple of years and considering the engine displacements, power, features and options far better than the econo-boxes. Been driving a 325 E36 and still got more than 7-8km/l :)and great mileage outstation....
  11. 1.5 turbo? Can you send me the details or your source of information pls. Thats interesting.

Hi Eurofan Are you still looking to do the conversion? Cheers
  13. Hi Daminda

You may be able to get a good idea about E#9 from Milroy. He will guide you on the best model to buy. His number: 2913465

    Cheers

Combining the comments made by Tharindra, RR and the Don above: Option 01: it would be great if you can do some mods to your existing car—that is having a bigger intake and modifying the exhaust and chipping the ECU. You should be able to sort out some stuff from tuning companies. Not sure if they can cater to diesels though. Option 02: if you can lay your hands on a 330D it will do wonders if you still like the economy of the diesel and the power and torque of the larger displacement. However, note that you may have to bring down a lot of stuff mentioned in my previous posts above to mate it with the engine. Lastly, speak to the expert in Kelaniya and see what he has to say about it. He has done a few engine swaps for E34's and a couple of E36 cars. He should be able to point out the pros and cons along with an indication of costs. Mind you this will take a lot of time to come together. Good luck !!!

FYI there is a E46 330i coupe, an E46 M3 and a Z3 M spec in the country. Those are the only higher displacement variants I know in the country.

I know of a few cars that have been converted from smaller displacements to bigger and faster ones in E34's and E36 cars. It would be great if you can find a good decently used specimen for sale. I believe that you are bringing everything down part-by-part except the body, doors and interior trim. Please ensure to bring down the following: 1. Wire harness 2. Rear differential 3. Complete gearbox 4. Radiator 5. Engine 6. Meter board 7. All the suspension parts (including disks) You will however need the help from an expert or the agents to put everything in order as it is quite a time consuming exercise even for them. But I doubt it that the agents will ever help you with this, not sure, since they mostly do not work out of the box and hate to do modifications to cars. I know two cars which had undergone engine swaps but which are eternally in the garage due to technical problems. Some of the parts were mated from their previous models and hence led to some configuration issues. This is a great project if you can pull it through !!! Good luck !!!
  18. I would suggest getting it brand new with warranty.
  19. Hi I suggest the best would be to replace the radiator if its leaking. Considering the age of the car, there is a chance that there would be corrosion in the radiator requiring attention—i.e. replacement. I am not sure about the price, but good if you can get one.
  20. Thanks to everyone who turned up at the meeting! Look forward to see more members next time around. Cheers
  21. Its on Sunday the 13th not tomorrow. Why is the car jacked up? Its been quite a while isn't it? You can join us in the Mazda if you like and time permits

    Bmw E46 Alloy's

Btw, you can use the wider 225/45 R16 on the same alloy that is currently on the car.
  23. I'm in too !

    Bmw E46 Alloy's

I have seen a few alloys at Milroys. A had a nice set recently. Not sure if it was for a 3 series. I am sure the agents have and if you are able to afford they can even get them down for you. They have a whole catalog. Also, if you are able to get access to the Prestige service floor there were a few sets lying on a corner. I would love to have these on mine: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-OEM-BMW-E46-17-M-Sport-Alloy-Wheels-Tyres-x4-/140515878118?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20b76624e6
