  1. sounds like you took out a vacuum line in the process of working on the battery. Check all the hoses and make sure they are all in place.
  2. You are worse than californican. At least cali uses google to copy information from. You actually waste your time writing up this crap.
  3. no idea. You can try calling them. http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/
  4. You need to tell us the type of plates first. The english number ones (eg: WP GX-0000) would need to be produced to the DMV and they will issue new plates for a fee. For the older ones you can get it done in one of the many shops at darley road.
  5. well I think to create a foam it would need to be bubbling right? since foam contains air. Is your coolant at the right level? Are any off the hoses bent?. I woulod flush the system in case the coolant is bad. If that fails it's either the water pump or worst case is the head gasket. You wouldn't happen to be noticing any white smoke in the exhaust would you? BTW not sure of where the needle on the temp guage should sit on your car, but on mine two bars above the mid point is high. Are your fans working properly (by working properly I mean does it work at two speeds or just one) ?
  6. ahhh OP voted all my posts down. I think OP is probably one of those people that bought a viva and got molested by the sales rep.
  7. Great just replaced my tail light that some idiot cracked and someone decides to crash into me again today. For my luck he barely missed the new tail lamp. Would suck since it is the only one available in the country.

Rule in SL is to think twice before hard braking;)

  8. Well if he was alive he may have caused more damage by moving the kid around.
  9. hindsight is always 20/20
  10. Actually you ARE wasting time and forum space by posting question that every person in this country who owns a car can answer.
  11. With respect to the dead, I think that the idiot who turned the body around needs to be punched in the face. The first thing you do when you see a body on the ground isn't toss it around.
  12. Seriously you have to ask for more places? why? are you scared the rivet will be of a lesser quality? Why not find a friend with a drill and rivet gun and do it yourself then? Here's the process: Drill a damn hole through the badge and metal/plastic than it sits on. Use the rivet gun to put a rivet in. Done. FFS
  13. I believe I saw it at link the other day. It comes in a black/gold box right?
  14. Seriously do you really need to ask this question? Just go to darley road. Next thing we know someone will come here asking where to go if they are losing the wind in their tires....oh wait....

Are you seriously concerned about the 0-100 on an Allion? FFS
  16. E 250 Cabriolet Garandiya edition.
  17. What are these tools that you speak of?
  18. Price of an old "reconditioned" tail light at Delkanda :38,000. Price of one brand new one at panchi: 35,000. Amazing how cheap these "reconditioned" parts are....

well I just bought the headlight brand new and it's the same brand as the OEM ones. I would have been less surprised at the cost if the new ones were a cheaper brand like depo. BTW Also going to get a new headlight. Thee used was priced at 45k and the new one is 38k.

Try the darley road joints too. Sometime back i got a pair of altezza lights for a lancer for 15k or so. Shop owners in delkanda wanted nearly 40.

  19. Same in mine. Do you have a brand new or JDM?
  20. couldn't you just add this crap into one of the existing hybrid threads instead of creating a new one?
  21. nono you aren't hurting me. I just thought I saw a snake and thought it was venomous. Turned out to be a common garandiya so no problem. Also is that 3 million rupee car so crappy that it would fall apart when driving on "outstation roads"? Are you one of those people that think driving to Dambulla is like going on a Safari?
  22. If you are getting a car purely for the purouse of learning to drive, I would suggest getting something old and cheap like an old beetle. That way you woulldn't have to worry about selling it.
  23. Go to a battery shop and have it tested. If it's usable you can have them charge it.
  24. BTW if your goal is to take it off-road. You should be focusing more on getting a good truck and then performing upgrades on it like the suspension.
  25. First of all we don't need to know how much your car, house, bed or anything else costs. Second, you aren't going to find one for a few rupees. You need to set a budget for the truck and then set a separate budget for the restoration after you have idenfitied the problems it had. That will give you and idea of the total cost to get it running. It's important to figure these out since in some cases the cost of buying a truck in good condition may be lower than what you would spend if you bought one that's falling apart. Next we can't help you find a cheap truck. You need to be able to look around. Check the sunday papers and any auction listings on both the daily papers and weekend ones. If buying from an auction you need to inspect the car before bidding and set your maximum price. You would need a competent mechanic to accompany you during the inspection. I take it from your post that you are not a mechanic or a DIY kinda guy. That being said, you need to understand that if you do not have atleast some knowledge in fixing up trucks, you will end up draining your wallet and getting ripped off. Think about the cost of parts, tinkering, painting and labour. I think it's safe to say that unless you had your own workshop you would be paying close to what the same truck would cost if you were to buy one in good condition. If you are out to make a profit, restoration would clearly not be the field for you.
