I do not know. Actually I have bought this car recently(2 weeks back) and at that time A/C was not working. Repaired the A/C. When I switch on the A/C, this issue is coming.....

Hi Friends, My car is 1999 Peugeot 306 - carb model wagon. When I start the car in the morning the rpm is very low around 500. Then when I put A/C RPM will up to 900. Then it will run fine for another 15 minutes. But after that when the A/C is on the RPM will be is fluctuating between 1100 to 2000 in the idle. So it becoming really difficult to shift the gears when it reaches 2000. But when I off the A/C it is back to 900-1000 range. What can be the issue.....Pls assist. Tks.....

Hi Friends, I brought the car lalith@pelawatte(French Lion Motors). He has estimated the reapirs will be around 1.5 lakhs to make the car to usable condition. But as per the owner he told that he will come to 10.5 lakhs finally. Anyway I likes the looks of the car.... Do you think is it recomendable to buy in that price? Peugeot experts pls suggest. These are the details of the car, Peugeot 306 - wagon - 1360cc engine, Carb model, YOM - 1999(Number 301-####) - Previous owners 6, Engine mileage 250000km, AC not working, Gearbox issue Tks......

I checked with the good Peugeot mechanic. As per him, he finds some gearbox nosie when shifting gears and since the engine also ran 250000 km, he suggest not to go beyond 60000/=. Do you guys feel this is too low?

Hi Friends, I bought a car recently which has a good condition engine. Unfortunately the previous owner has used Castrol Gtx 20w50 engine oil, without any possible reason. When I service the car next time, will it be possible to use Castrol 20W40 instead of high viscosity oil? Will it cause any issues?

Hi Friends, I need this information in order to assist one of my friends. She recently have come from UK to Sri Lanka and she is a disabled person who cannot use her legs. When she was in UK, she was using a vehicle specially modified for her with hand controls. She have an intention to import a similar modified vehicle from abroad (UK, Australia or Japan) and use in Sri Lanka. Does these kind of vehicle import have any tax exemption or reduced tax? First of all you should say what is your vehicle is.... Because interms of cost painting a motor bike will cost less than a bus.... Also cheap compromise quality most of the times.....

We drained out all the oil and poured Caltex Powersteering Oil. But still the same. Mornings it is very easy. But when the car heats up the steering getting tighten and starting to whine loud.

Yes. I do understand. The issue was my technician misleaded me that STR was the best powersteering oil suited for old Japanese vehicles.

Thanks for the assistance. Is there any viscosity range I need to check when buying the power steering oil? For example engine oils like Castrol GTX 20W50? Because when temp increases, it gets harder, shall I buy a higher viscosity one?

Hi Guys, Thanks for assisting. There are no squealing sound when turning. But in the morning it is very easy to turn in 1000 RPM at idle. But when the car gets warm, the pump starting to whine when turning and steering gets really hard around 1000 RPM at idle and when you accelerate to 2000 RPM it gets little easy but the whining sound gets louder. Power steering fluid is STR brand red colour one. Is there any PS fluid cooler system or idle up in the power steering units in these model vehicles?
