  1. Nice to see an Integra hunter, so did you find any M/T DB8/DC2 for sale? I was looking for them for months and all were auto, but as you've mentioned a leaky radiator, there was a 300- A/T car which seemed to repairs a lot, was in a garage getting fixed whenever I called, and the guy told it was of his brother who is abroad bla bla... So have to be careful when buying such cars, and as others say, may have been used at limits. Btw, I don't exactly get why many seem to think/say that JDM 98 cars had bug lights, whether DC2 or DB8. Or this specific car you checked was a brand new, not a Jap recon? Cuz Honda had replaced those lights with rectangular lights for Japan by 96, like in the links Dev_Z had provided and they're DB8 SIR-Gs after all -- As for the price, less than 1.6M is below what I found so far.
  2. You say you're in UAE and need fuel figures? Even asking for that is just plain crazy cuz you're obviously not buying a performance car so it should be within the average of most people, a quick search through the forum could get you all the info you want... Btw, guys I was referring ads such as these cuz the buy.asp didn't show the date.
  3. LOL Funny going now
  4. Most contributions to the forum by a new member has been by jdnet as we all know Skyline being most interesting and talked as I felt. F/C was boring as hell, worse when it comes to the classic question "Fuel consumption of an Axio"
  5. Thanks Madz! Didn't know that, should be useful in near future
  6. But in the new model, only the Vitz 1.5 RS comes with M/T if I'm not mistaken? And for the F/C conscious buyers of Toyota's, I'm not sure that fits their bill with a 110hp engine, and higher auction price included, would be hard to think of any sales offering that. Only the KSP90 and SCP90 seems available here and they all come with CVTs
  7. No info on that anywhere, even tried contacting some at the customs and they're unaware of such a reduction, though yes it was discussed here before. And as you see, there are many sudden changes of decisions as this is SL, the customs site shows that well. Not all proposals have been implemented, and even if it was, the people who are calculating taxes would have to be informed with a hard copy.
  8. Not saying anything wrong with the site and working well even on a mobile is a very good point. But just saying that something like an 'Advanced Search' feature in a link to be used if necessary would help too. And I do agree nothing to do about sellers who don't notify AL, but just now saw we can in any case report them as sold out if we do make a call. Like http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=11314
  9. No Only put up the date which it was advertised, so buyers can be informed how much time it was up. Not something necessary for performance cars but is when it comes to the most sought after boring cars like Corolla, Sunny etc. And it's not a personal problem anyway. Another small suggestion, it'd be nice if the search feature in the buy page can be expanded a bit more to include options like manual transmission, petrol etc.
  10. Well the customs site seems upto and the older proposed taxes in http://www.customs.gov.lk/tariff/chapter872011.pdf effective. So for the usual 1.5 cars most people seem to care about, if I'm not mistaken the code is 8703.22.59 and NBT is 3%? Total tax in table is 87% but must be inaccurate as there are taxes on taxes etc. For people who make new tax threads over and over again - It'd be much appreciated if you could all stick to one thread for the reason explained my most members, thanks! And I doubt that everyone who are so much concerned about taxes will actually buy a new car, just cuz taxes have gone down a bit...
  11. In this case, yes. Even in the case of sellers, if they do not overinflate prices and be reasonable when describing the vehicle to a buyer, I'm sure it'd not stagnate for months without getting sold. As I read somewhere on the forum, a person had even bought a failed STi conversion?
  12. Well full hybrids are usually more efficient, but I didn't come across any custom documents saying only full hybrids get the tax cuts. As the tables say, hybrid electric vehicles get very low total tax. Difference of hybrid types here
  13. Well I meant more like a car not sold for several months but if of a usually easy to sell model, then there's possibly something wrong with it? They look ok in pics, but when going and checking out only we see many other problems, which some sellers try to hide.. And that's not really nice if travelling to Col from another place, cuz that's where most ads are from. Edit - I know IDs do help but it only gives a vague idea and not sure how many per day etc.
  14. Well I've come across many ads in AL where the vehicle was sold and the ad was still up. Guess some sellers don't bother removing the ad after selling, so maybe the date could help?
  15. Do post the schedule you have in one of these numerous threads on Toyota transmissions for the use of everyone who owns a Toyota. Btw, not all GBs, even from the same manufacturer, have same duration of servicing, change of oil etc.
  16. The FWD version, yes CVT with SZ engine and that's all I've seen imported here. 4WD version has a normal auto GB with planetary gears and a NZ engine. I doubt you'd have been able to run two years without the GB failing if you'd used wrong oil cuz CVTs are very sensitive. Your manual should indicate in English what oil should be used, though it may be in Japanese.
  17. Hmm, that post is more than one year old
  18. Well said
  19. For info of people who are concerned about Swift F/C, the 2003 Swift 2WD manual we got recently does an average of 10km/l in Kandy. So combined with most being auto and with Col traffic, 7km/l would be good.
  20. Yup, TG USA is ok these days while the others aren't airing, but yes it's kinda boring, nowhere near the UK show Tanner does some good stuff though
  21. 40000km, inspect and replace if necessary.
  22. Seen relatively low speed accidents with 800s, once right in front of us in oncoming traffic. Speed around 30km/h I think, but the whole front part, engine included got crushed into big pile and lots of pieces on the road, just like in the link Big_D posted, but without wheels rising off the ground. Driver compartment visibly deformed a lot, the 2 people in it had got bad injuries. We once had an accident when a van came in the wrong lane of a bend while we were in a Sunny B12 and a speed of around 50, only the bumper and bonnet got slightly crushed but the engine and behind was safe, no one harmed. I can't comment on the Every but as Peri says, if it's safety you're concerned about, a well kept accident free Jap car for similar price should give you more peace of mind.
  23. You're welcome and I think isurujosh would be able to provide you info on the Axio Jap manual cuz I don't have any such with me right now. But I'm sure that info must be there somewhere in the book cuz they do provide even better support for JDM vehicles in Japan, than for us here with US models.
  24. @Sampath - Must be because you're using IE and it's too slow to process many large images at the same time. Try clicking on the pics and opening image in a new tab or simply change to another browser. Chrome is faster and recommended but many prefer Firefox. @Isuru - You're welcome! Even your Axio had a Jap manual I guess?
