  1. 1.3m is max
  2. I saw an advertisement Sunday paper mentioned that they are converting normal interior panels to teak. The place is at Kadawatha. I have no experience with them, if any one know I could give the contact number
  3. I later checked them and they were fine and the engine need no heating up at morning though I heated up as a habit in the morning
  4. I had to face difficulty in starting up my CE110 (Diesel) at hill country early in the morning. Details of my car as follows; it is CE110 (YOM1998), Auto, ODO 171000km, car can be starting up in the morning without any pre-heating up, no black smoke in normal driving conditions, slight noticeable engine oil reduction for 1000~1500km, slight fume from dipstick but not spurting engine oil even at higher rev. so I agree that engine is bit under compressed. Story as follows, I reached to Bandarawela at evening without any issues and tried to start up around 9am (~temp 20C); starter motor rev very well (Battery is good) but engine not coming in to life! I checked to injector pump solenoid valve and it was working I just pumped up manual pump located in diesel filter but had no luck. I removed the drain plug underneath the diesel filter and drained it (not sure it had water). Then removed the the bolt at injector pump and pushed the manual pump at diesel filter and diesel is spurting up. I loosen the diesel line where it fix to the engine and rev the starter motor and I could see the diesel coming from the line. After all those efforts I failed while the battery too drained up after several efforts of staring up! I decided to get down a mechanic, and he asked what I did and then just did a jump start from another battery Engine came to the life only after several efforts (second batt too drained up and needed 3rd batt). He said this is due to worn engine and battery drained up due to several efforts of starting up. So my questions are, 1. Is it due to worn engine? (I can still start up without any heating and the following day morning at the same place it stated up easily) 2.Is it due to diesel problem? (water in diesel/clogged diesel line/air in diesel line )- this is because I noticed diesel coming out from the diesel line which goes out from the filter while pressing up hand pump due to hardened rubber pipe so it may have sucked up air as well 3. I was pretty sure that my battery was in good condition and it failed only after 15~20 efforts of staring up
  5. @Bugatti, There was a old hairline crack at a mounting point that is why I had to replace it with a used one. But the gear box problem was mainly due to hardened internal rubber seals though the worn plates/shift valve/manual valve too replaced
  6. @VVTi, Bro, thanks for advise. I have no contacts with him and not promoting him! but few of my friends from Colombo have had their auto box repaired and all had good comments about the service and durability. One of my friend got it repaired 3 auto boxes + 1 CVT and it is from him I got these info regarding euro box. Yeah I too shoot him if I was advised to swap euro engine + gear box to a used jap engine and gear box!!!! I too got my auto box repaired (CE110) but by a person from Gall since I am from down south they replace all the internal rubber parts+ worn plates + filter/strainer+ bell housing + toyota oil; full cost was Rs25,000/= with 18 months warranty.
  7. Nilwala motors, Nugaegoda. His name is Chandana. According to him, those euro repair kits costs a lot comp to jap so that very rarely a customer doing such a repair but they do repair euro boxes.
  8. As you already know normal air means 78% of N2 so filling with 99% N2 means just adding 21% of N2 instead of O2 (bit heavy). So I dont think you can feel any real difference in normal driving conditions. May be you are feeling some placebo effects!
  9. If gov keep on rising the diesel price, whole country would be in trouble not because diesel vehicle owners do have to pay more but because all public transport/agriculture/electricity/essential products like cement, sugar depends mainly on diesel. As said earlier, it depend on how many km you gonna drive. But remember diesels have better fuel efficiency than equivalent petrol cars and The lifespan of a diesel engine tends to be somewhat higher; if you could live with sluggishness of diesel engine my personal view is diesel would still be better if you drive more km per day. At present I/My family own CE110, 121Diesel, CR27 Lotto for diesel and AE110 FB15 for petrol side and We every day use them except CR27, so we still feel feel better on diesel. My personal view is maintaining diesel vehicle is very simple (All above vehicles around 1998 only 121D is 2004 late) and easy.

Dear friend, I dont see any value asking some questions regarding some vehicle after fixing your mind on that vehicle. It is your money dear friend! You might find answers for your questions when you have got the pickup.
  11. -Performance-Axela wins -Styling-Probably axela but it depends on how you think -Handling-Axela wins -Fuel Economy-Corolla is better -Maintainence-Corolla is easy -Driving Satisfaction-More or less both similar -Cost of replacing parts-Corolla is low cost
  12. I had to face the same issue after 3 weeks of ATF filter cleaning indicating something beyond clogged filter! I finally decided to get my auto box repaired. As someone said earlier, all most all the inner rubber parts are hardened just like they are made up from brittle metal. They replace them all and change some valves also and filled with Toyota auto oil. Problem was solved 100%
  13. Body cuts are now being imported under a special permit by used spares importers and definitely some are being imported illegally. By the way about two months ago I saw AE110 two front cut and one rear cut at Delkanda and Kurunagala. Finding AE110 body cuts could not be that much difficult
  14. http://www.krisolutions.com/
  15. Anthupitha Motors, Panchikawattha
  16. CR27 (lotto) new engine version is now around 2.6m. It is holding very good resale value!
  17. Are there any place in Sri Lanka at which you really need navigation system? It is not like in Singapore/USA or UK. Just roll down the side window and ask from someone and they are willing to guide you! I do not see any point spending hard earned Rs45000/= to fix sat navigation for Sri lanka. Just buy good smart phone with GPS and fix it to good genuine car stand and use goole map if you still need navigation (This is my personal view ,so do not blame me)
  18. Reason for relapsing the front lamps is inner reflective layer has faded/pealed off due to aging and the conner lamps too having some minor cracks and looks bit ugly. Koito Japan used coner lamp is Rs 4000/= each while Koito Thai Brand new is Rs 2000/= each. Koito Japan used head lamp is Rs 8000/= each while Koito Thai Brand new is Rs 6000/= each. Other than the engraving indicating Koito Japan/Thai they both looks similar and the finishing also very smart unlike the fake Chinese duplicates which are known to cause troubles when fixing to the vehicles due to bad quality plastic clips and all. Are there any difference between the quality of these two products? Or are they just manufactured in two country by the koito?
  19. I recently tried to replace the existing head lamps and corner lamps of my CE110 (crystal light model). I found two types of "Koito" products named as Koito-Japan (Used) and Koito-Thai (Brand new & Used). Koito-Thai brand new is lot more cheaper than used Japan- Koito Are there any difference in quality of these two products? Is Koito-Thai production is a genuine production?
  20. Go for AE/CE110 "white light" model
  21. I would personally like to go with 141 Dieselas it is really economical (up to18kmpl), hold pretty good resale value and provide descent comfort/look although bit slow (not really) on acceleration (You aint a racing driver!). Do not go with 141 petrol as it is really bad on fuel and have no second market value. If you really like to have petrol car Alliion/Premio or Axio are there too
  22. From those two car you have mentioned, I would recommend SB13. But if you give a try for CE100 or CE110, It is a different matter!
  23. Could any experts help me on this issue please?
  24. I too agree but I was not there to buy a door but I was able to get it's weather strip (chrome plated) removed at a cost of 1200/= and inner door handle was 1000/=!
  25. @Nilantha, Face lifted model is the correct word for the "110 original crystal light" model which came late 1997 to 2000
