  1. Subaru Solterra?
  2. Yup there's certainly a common style elements used. while there is no direct similarity take a look at this The giveaway here was the shape of the rear door window and you got it @iRage
  3. Here you go!
  4. when a bike manufacturer makes a car
  5. @Duan27 : Your Turn.
  6. I was in one recently -I get your point but i felt the interior was just too cramped (Me coming from an FK6 might contribute to that ) but then again I've driven the previous gen RU3 vezel and comparatively the interior seems a lot more snug, particularly headspace at the front, rear seats (3 people will be a tight fit) and the boot space (without folding seats). There is though a kind of sleekness in the RV5 that I found a bit appealing. But the drive is slightly more Toyotaish than HOnda-ish. The Atto is the new Vezel. The vezel is the new Premio. But look the package is appealing specially for daily runners and most of us have rooftop solars nowadays. It's a generally spacious car. It offers good bang for the buck also there is a rising interest for the Mira - it's probably the cheapest along with the Alto but many find the Mira to be an overall better package. One gripe I have with the magnite is that the lower spec comes with an AMT.
  7. Couple of months later and we are seeing the Sri Lankan Car buyer trends. Combined there are over 1000 BYD's *registered* as of now. But there's one clear winner here- everybody's favorite "Jeep" since 2014 strikes again!!! Honestly though I expected more than 700 Wagon R's to be sold at this point - I guess the insane price tag these fetch have driven buyers away.
  8. First impression was Italian but the next clues kind of eliminated the first couple of models that came to my mind.
  9. nice to see the clue was very well taken @john cooper wanna have a go ?
  10. right next one
  11. I'm curious what it's registered as in Sri Lanka - I tried to run the plates in the DMT website but the service is down 90% of the time. If it did arrive as an Eva - that would have resulted in a confused individual at DMT sitting in his wood-and rattan chair. Remember this was the mid 90's when Opels, Kias and Daewoos were registered as made in Japan. So they at least probably go the country of origin right in the book.
  12. this was quite exhausting. Thanks to a rather time consuming search on reddits miata sub reddit I think I may have found it. Is this Eva ME-22 ?
  13. Saw this on a local instagram handle. Had 19- plates. Kit car on a Miata?
  14. this is more helpful than all the visual clues combined interesting trivia times I see -if the chinese EV's start flooding the markets. we'll rely more on hints than visual cues since these have high visual similarities.
  15. Good lord no 😂 I meant the Deepal S05. Deepal is a subsidiary of Changan. Changan entered the local market few years back with their light-duty trucks and mini trucks. Deepal is pronounced differently but the spelling is the same that is used by Sri Lankans called “Deepal” (දීපාල්) So final answer : Deepal S05.
  16. ooooh now I remember seeing the door handles at the launch. This would be the S05 , from a subsidiary which looks like a name of a boomer, owned by a company better known in Sri Lanka for their small commercial vehicles.
  17. toughie for me... I recall these door handles but can't quite place where... this is NOT chinese right?
  18. Becoming a Sedan again may have been the CROWNing moment
  19. Yeah that extends to all makes and models nowadays and not just Toyotas. Even premium priced cars are rust buckets. the ONLY reasonable priced models now are Diesels - of course that comes with a whole different can of worms. But the silver lining is that Manuals are so unpopular now, you can get a great deal if you are ok to drive stick.
  20. I have an empty parking slot at home previously occupied for 6 years by the starlet and 3 months by an AD wagon -what would be a bang-for-the-buck fun shitbox? Preferably auto as I live in a crowded suburb that has sapped the joy of stick shift out of my system.

@sathyajithj99 - out of the lot March might be more 'bang for the buck'- as a former Kelisa user I was stunned to see the prices they now fetch :D

I would be somewhat prudent about the K12 onwards Marches though, especially after the 2004 update. It's a bit of a gamble. When it works..it works but when it decides not to...it is a heap of problems.

  21. I used to regularly advocate for the same ... lancers and axelas were some of the cars I used to recommend all the time. A couple of observations that I've made of late regarding the above has made me think twice on this. Due to (3) the honest Lancer/Axela buyers do not sell their cars and potential buyers having realized the overpriced nature of Toyotas have started looking into these options. As a result (1) is no longer valid. There are very few good Lancers/ Axelas for sale and they go for eye-watering prices. In fact if you tried a bit hard you could find a decent Toyota for much cheaper nowadays. (2) is correct - there are a LOT of Toyota's for sale now and due to this competition prices have gone down somewhat and sellers are likely to accept offers well below the listed price.
  22. I think you are correct @john cooper can you confirm? I do not think any of these have hit our shores yet.
  23. confirming you are correct @john cooper it is the tercel L10 indeed. Rare but there are a few in SL. Your turn!
  24. and with that the answer is almost out there
  25. That's a very good and close guess. Let me say you've come really close further elaborating would make it too easy
