  1. Hey, These double cabs would be good. Personally use one and its quite versatile. http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=1 http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=12743629738 http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=126178 personally prefer the Nissan D21 because you could find a cheaper one and they have good performance. Just my idea.
  2. Could be the injector nozzles. I have an Izuzu cab with a 2.5L Turbocharged engine and it currently does about 9 outstation without A/C. Turns out the Injector nozzles are worn out and needs replacing. This will also cause excess amounts of black smoke( My mechanic's explanation) . Worth checking out
  3. Hey NRX, had the same problem in my peugeot 406 and it turned out to be a worn out engine mount. Also the knock sensor was busted. Not sure if you have one of those in Fb13 but worth checking out. The sound is probably the mount. Pain to drive when the engine slows and starts to rev up and move again
  4. Wild Card. You'll have money left to spend on the occasional hiccups and V6 22BHP is incomparable.
  5. Must say your car is kept neat.
  6. Had the same problem in my car. The fan was not working. Meter goes higher when stopped and then reduces.
  7. Saw a reconditioned Peugeot 508 diesel for 5.5mil . advertised on internet.

    Mazda Bongo

Hey guys, used a mazda bongo for the past 12 years and it's mileage is closing 299,000. Passed the smoke test but doesnt accelerate well and after shifting 3 gears speedometer just passes 50kmph. Time for an engine overhaul?? Also Thought of upgrading to a new van but diesel models are over budget(2.5 mil+). maybe a land rover defender or other jeep?. Any ideas on what model i could get for less than 2.5 Million ?? Not looking for comfort, just a spacious diesel vehicle that moves fast. Im fed up of shifting 3 gears to hit 50kmph. Cant imagine driving outstation alone :/ Thanks
  9. Hey Guys, Very interested in the soundracer since ive got a peugeot 406 and i would probably look silly with a huge exhaust that gives all sound but no style. Also it would be eco friendly without any noise pollution. Anyone got it down from ebay already?? Or is there a place in Sri Lanka??(I highly doubt it ) Thanks
  10. Hey Harshan, Are you sure there is no problem with cleaning peugeot 406 headlights?? Heard that removing them will cause leaks?? My lights are fades and look yellowish. Also would cool blue light bulbs fit the headlight? Thanks
  11. Point to ponder : I know of lot of people including few friends whom were initially considering FB 14 went for Peugeot 406 D9 by considering the similar initial cost better safety and simillar fuel economy. Personally I believe FB 14 too is overpriced considering it's age and options. Hey guys, Thanks to harshan and they guys at AL i sold the FB 14 automatic i was using and got a peugeot 406 1800cc year 2002 manual. honestly it does 13kmpl out station and is awesome to drive. Much more power than the 1300cc nissan. Could reach 100 km/h and you wont even feel it. Seating space is huge compared to a fb 14 and has much beater options. Bought it cheaper than the price i sold the FB 14 for. Parts are slightly higher but euro parts last longer. changed the original timing belt at 116,000 miles and it was still in usable condition.
  12. Hmmm
  13. used to have a auto trans fb 14 .. sold it and bought a peugeot 406 manual.... best decision i made
  14. Thanks rangerover.. Going to see an euro repair guy tomorrow ASAP.
  15. Its a 2000 model with 1.8 litre manual transmission. Feels awesome to drive compared to the FB14 which was quite boring. Just about an hour ago the display started saying ABS fault ... Any help??
  16. Thanks Harshan.. The setup i have is a clarion CD and radio. I was thinking of checking out Adv@nce C@r @udio or pet*o. Please help me out with the a place to buy air vents from a local place if possible Thanks
  17. Hey guys. bought a 406 finally. special thanks to Sifaan and Harshan and all the guys at Autolanka.everything is great except for the a/c air vents and cd player. the vents seem to be loose and pop out when moved. where can i buy these vents? and also the cd player takes in the cd and rejects after few seconds. wanted to know if i can fix a player with USB input without messing up the faceplate and steering controls.

  19. hey guys the valuation will help me get a better price, so the repairs could be done by the money i save. the thing is we have used the previous car for 11 years and done only 46,000 km. thats like . Anyways the 406 would run just about 5000km a year because ive got a diesel van which can do way lot better than any car in terms of fuel economy. So i think a 406 with all the expenses people say it costs would be good for our usage. Any comments ?? Thanks
  20. Thanks for the info guy... Thought of getting the car valuated by De Silva valuers. That way could probably get a better price for the repairs needed.
  21. Hey guys If a 406 has done 111,000km with out a timing belt change, should it be changed?? Also, heard that the front headlights cost 80,000 bucks each??
  22. Hey guys... Given up on the thought of Peugeot 406. Everyone i consult advises against it. Going for a jap i guess. Thanks for all the info
  23. Hey guys. Just wandering whether anyone here knows were to find a 406 . preferably lx model. Checked out about 7 cars now but not in good condition. Interior is crappy. Help me out.
