Been searching the forum as well as Google but couldn't find a good overall place for restoration of my Lancer CK1 interior. I basically need to repair/replace some door panels, door winders, winder glasses if needed, plastic panels near the shifter, shifter boot cover, steering wheel, the hood, locks, door handles etc. as well as the seat covers. Basically to overhaul the interior. There are some reputed places for seat covers but I couldn't find a place which can do all of these under one roof or at least most of these as these related to vehicle upholstery. Would be grateful if you could give me some directions even to get some of these done. I'm going to get it painted soon so looking for a place to get the interior overhauled soon after. Also there is some work related to the dashboard as well such as fixing lights, the fan knob etc. Thank you in advance!

Yeah it does. I'm not sure the condition though, I too suspected whether the catalytic convertor be the culprit. Although I fixed a muffler, the sound of the exhaust at some point increased heavily to the extent to suspect that there is a problem with the exhaust. Any place I can check and may be replace or clean it? How much would it cost to replace it? Thanks so much for the prompt response

Dear all, I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer bought brand new. The car struggled to pass the vehicle emission test in the recent years. In the last year, after installing new spark plugs, new air filter, the CO level was still above the standard 3. Somehow I managed to get it through the test last year, but this year the CO level is above 9. It initially even rejected from the test as it is above the high peak values. This is after installing a brand new carburetor and tuning, cleaning the newly installed and almost unused spark plugs, with a still brand new like air filter which is very clean. However let me give you some background info, the car has been sitting for months close to an year. I used to start it and let it idle without running just to charge the batteries. I top up oil from time to time as there is a slight oil burning issue which was there for a while (3 - 4 years roughly) and the colour of the engine oil is still good, but I didn't change the oil. Some of the current engine oil is nearly an year old however, I think I top up like half of it or so six months ago with fresh oil and the color of the oil is not bad. I noticed this problem when the car was stationary and when I used to drive it daily, it used to pass the test. Now even after reducing the fuel intake from the carburetor, with a brand new carburetor and almost new air filter, almost new spark plugs, even the mechanics are finding it difficult to understand the problem. Can clearly see the excessive black exhaust. RPM HC CO Standard 1000 3 Idle 1070 1384 9.39 2500 RPM 2450 812 9.99 Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone! Hope you all are well and staying safe! Has the government given any extensions to renew our vehicle revenue license? If not how can we do it in these lockdown days? I know there is this online service, but without a functioning postal department, this wouldn't work, and too risky to follow as there will be delays/dislocations and imagine explaining something like this to an average police officer. (hats off to good policemen) Also no way to get the smoke test done. So then what are our options? Have you managed to renew your vehicle insurance these days? I just tried to reach my insurance company for hours but couldn't get through. Are there any online payment and delivery services operated by these companies these days? Thank you in advance! Kind Regards, Dush

Dear all, How you all doing? I bought a 2015 XR 230 (9000km done) (CRF230L in USA) and would like to know how you all maintain your XRs. Please accept my apologies for my lack of knowledge on this. It would be great if you could kindly reply to my following queries. 1. Is it best to change oil every 2000km or 5000km (I only use it to commute and never do hard off road but light trails)? Which oil is best and the viscosity? I can find Mobil and Caltex in our country. 2. Does this bike have an oil filter that you should change when you change engine oil? If so the model and the brand of the filter? Or do you have to clean the oil screen? 3. How to lubricate the chain? I heard that you have a spray oil, what is the brand and how often you should do it, or what is the best way? 4. Best tension of the chain? 5. 92 octane gas or 95 octane gas? 6. Recommended break oil? 7. Recommended tire pressure for front and rear - it still has original factory fitted tires (Bridgestone) 8. What are the other maintenance items I have missed? 9. Best place to buy parts/oil in Sri Lanka? Thank you so very much Live to ride, ride to live !

Thanks so much for your reply, one of the speakers provides rattling sound for low bass, not sure if its the coil or something else. I checked in the shop you mentioned and almost all the other car audio shops in colombo, they dont have. Due to the popularity of JBL now there are a lot of fakes. Almost all ebays are fake/chinese JBLs. I did some research on this. This is regarding JBL high end speakers only. Not sure about others. Can buy from Amazon but the duty cost n shipping is insane dude. Almost 3 times the price of the speakers. And then you have to pay more money to post office dirty bloods + duty again to clear it. Its crazy

Thank you so much Davy, I checked with him, he doesn't have the one for my engine model. :'''( I appreciate your help anyway. Regards, Dushan -
Dear all, My Lancer CK1's ignition coil is dead. :( Do you know a place where I can buy a GENUINE Mitsubishi coil? Other option is to replace the entire distributor, Agents distributors cost a fortune, I can buy a new car for the money I spend for four distributors. its crazy. If you can give me a lead even to a used second hand distributor will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. I badly need a Lancer Evo VI (6) OEM spoiler, not a fiberglass one. I already checked almost all the shops from Delkanda to Vijerama. They don't have any kind of spoiler for a lancer. They said the stock is over and they didn't get that type of spoilers recently. I checked in Dehiwala to Bellanvilla, 119 road all the way from Dehiwala to Nugegoda as well and found only one shop which has OEM Evo iv (4) spoilers. Very expensive though. But I need the OEM Evo vi (6) spoiler. Please see the attached photo. Please, can you let me know if you know someone, someplace where I can get or to get directed to a place where I can get the spoiler. Thank you so much. Drive safely, Dush

Dear all, Hope you all are doing well and looking forward for the weekend. Would any of you know where to buy Genuine Mitsubishi Ignition Coils for my Lancer CK1? Company doesn't have items in stock and requires a down payment and a month long waiting and is every expensive. Heard that there is a shop in Kirulapona area for Genuine Mitsubishi Ignition Coils. Thank you in advance, Kind Regards, Dush

JPs during weekends or during weekdays after 5pm
dushanf replied to dushanf's topic in General Automotive
Thanks a lot Quiet and Rumesh88, appreciate it a lot. Found a lawyer service office in my area and got it done. -
Dear all, Hope you all are doing great. I need to find a JP to certify the ID copies and the letter of ownership transfer during weekends or weekdays after 4.30pm as I really can't step out of the office these days. I know they are available near the ID/passport office but only from 8am - 2pm. Please let me know if you know a JP around Colombo who is available during weekends or during weekdays after 4.30pm. Many Thanks, Dush

Hi Davy, Thank you so much for your response. Yes I agree and I will try a different place now and replace the evaporator first and check on the joints. And what a valuable insight you have shared with me and the rest of the world. No one would imagine that an engine mount can cause these problems. Thanks a lot Davy. Appreciate it. Best Regards, Dush

Hi nsiva, Thank you so much for your response. I could hear the compressor kicking in. I still didn't go to the garage but I suspect it could be the refrigerant leak as when ever they checked previously it had no gas. It kind a happens when the engine is hot and once it has happens then it wont cool even in the morning with a cold engine. Thanks a lot for your inputs. Appreciate it. Best Regards, Dush
