@ Komi
congrats on ur great buy machan
pls post more better quality pics
I assume that the A/C was fixed aftwards and not factory spec
where in SL did u find this?
congrats once again mate!
Talking of classic cars what are the oldest cars in SL still in daily use (not the ones used in shows or rallies) but for day to day use and the registration series eg:CE,CN,EY etc i dont think any X,Z reg car will still be used ha?
wow thats a superb car and 40 years of ownership is great
i guess your dad would have bought it when it as a few years old?
btw, whats the longest trip you have done on it and where to? and the fastet speed you clocked on it?
How good is LB Finance for Fixed Deposits as they seem to be offering Tv's and Smart phones for depositors are they safe
what are the best FD interest rates now and in safe organisations (banks or central ban apporved ones)
Good points made by both Jdnet and Nzer as i have found that valuation reports are waved in the face of prospective buyers by sellers which are way above the market price
If your going to a valuation place make sure to tell them hat your the buyer and also check around the market for similar cars and how much they are going for
thanks Miniace I didnt know that i thought they had taken the grill from a pre war Austin and fixed it to the Ford !
btw how many such Fords are there now
even though its a classic no one will pay 8m for it!
btw i see a black peugeot 203 on marin drive frequently and its a beauty, not in pristine condition but in good daily use state!
sure can and did that mate
but past experience with some of these places is that they promise things over the telephone but when you go they say not all the things promised are not available as some items have broken/out of service etc (eg: ada thamai kaduna sir) which means its a waste of time and leave to have gone there,as such wanted user reviews form AL members if they had used them
Awesome didnt know there were car dealers like this for classic cars in Colombo ( i know one in Kandy but they sell in bad condition and not restored ones)
that Ford Anglia/Popular in the 3rd pic has got the wrong radiator grill fitted though
I would like to know if anyone has used the services of Car checks ltd in Colombo to get a vehicle checked before buying one and if yes how good were they in checking the car and were they able to detect hidden faults also do they do a compression test and put it on a ramp to check for chassis damage etc

its a 1500 CC one

Thanks all since im a Mitsu fan im biased towards the Proton too,but as some pointed out whatever the car it has to be an unmolested one though
I know that mechanics try their stunts with carbs and hack them in many cases, but in an EFI engine thats not possible right? or will our maka baasses ruin them too trying to get fuel economy,as i heard of a Proton with EFI up for sale (i have had issues with carbs being meddled with in previous cars which was a real head-ache!)
