  1. Today i saw an ad for B11 parts in Kegalle on ###### dot lk site they were advertising engine parts but im sure they will have other ones too i would like to see your B11 why dont you upload the pic,is it a 1300 or 1500 ,5fwd or 4fwd i was at one time contemplating a B11 but a Lancer won me over !
  2. what options did that model have? i have not come across it before ,i know it came in 1200 cc (12 sri ) ,1300 cc and 1500 cc (which was the most popular (some models did have p/s and rpm )also seen the laurel spirit
  3. you might have to check panchikawatte breakers yards (there are 2 yards) or check the Kandy road (i have not been there recently but heard that they have parts for 80's Japs) why do you want a door is it damaged or corroded?
  4. thanks for sharing the pics too bad about the carbs mate! please upload more pics if you can btw:the seats for your TR looks good and i like the color
  5. When you say Protons were also bought from Singapore can you elaborate a bit more, are there are lot of recon Protons from Singa in LK? I thought almost all were B/N cars imported here except maybe a few?
  6. machan congrats the car seems so very original and good that it found an owner who will restore it please can you upload more pics of it esp the interior if your interested you can buy retro styled stereo units with all modern features which i saw in a classic car mag from UK if you need it let me know and i'll PM the URL's btw is there a Ford Club in SL?
  7. How much of tax will you have to pay to clear the stuff that you ordered tax is one thing and the hassle to clear is another issue which puts off many people from bringing down stuff from abroad I remember going from desk to desk and getting numerous singnatures at Trico warehouse just to clear a tea chest of Christmas time goodies (all food items) years ago it took a good part of the day too!!!
  8. I had the same issue in the Lancer C12 but was sorted out by the guy near Kirullapone bridge, the A72 never had the issue and the needle was always steady like in a new car
  9. well said GTAm I couldnt agree more @owner of the Morris,3 months is too optimistic if you want it to pristine showroom spec but patience is well worth it at the end of the day did you find the spares you were looking for?
  10. Nice one MD!!!! @ JD yes get another one take your time and ensure all stuff is in order next time around on the bright side this happened before you started any work on it just imagine if it happened after you finished restoring it!!!!!
  11. ah how wonderful to see another project! please keep us update with pics and all that Did you manage to start it?
  12. next time you go if possible take a picture if you can Sylvi
  13. @kalingabd,congrats on planning to restore this car ,please do post pics of the car in its present state and document the process of repairing it like Master Don or Sumiya with pics, also if u have old pics of the car do scan them and post it Yes these cars were very popular in Jaffna and at one time in the late 70's to late 80's apparently they were a status symbol there, when i last went in 2012 i did see a few of them in pristine condition there,do you have any friends or contacts in Jaffna if so you can ask them to find parts and im sure its easy to get them from one of the scrapped cars (i too did see many scrapped cars there (Oxfords,Cambridges and Minors) Try clubs in UK and you can find any part that you want only hitch is getting them down
  14. thanks Don and HRM also i noticed CB1's dont have RPM meters (the ones i saw atleast) any idea of the price range for these cars?
  15. what is the current market price for a good CB2 Lancer,i see same cars being advertised over and over again for 1 million'ish does that mean that the market price is less ? if so what is it? what are the main differences between a Lancer CB1 and CB2,did the CB series come with EFI engines or were they all carb models?

  17. Well done CJ5 its great to know the history it would be a nice thing if we can see some of the old pics of the jeep when you got it and along the years taken in trips etc or pics of it getting repaired etc. have u done many long trips on it and if so where and where? how does it perform on upcountry roads if you had taken it?
  18. if anyone has pics of old taxis used in SL from 1940's to 70's please post them especially the Renault taxis
  19. btw does anybody know if any Lancer box model came with a digital clock ?
  20. thats one long journey mate especially in a 1985 Vannette as its just a basic tin box right!
  21. 250 KM is nothing for an N16 as long as you had maintained it properly I once did a Colombo Jaffna run in a Lancer A72 which was approx 396 Km one way without any problem and at that time the car was 26 years old and had no A/C nor power steering either!!!! it all depends on how you maintain ur car btw, where are you planning to go?
  22. does anyone have old advertisments from Daily news or other papers for Lancer flat light/lancer Box and Lancer GLX C12 cars if so please be kind enough to scan and post those
  23. @ Don,was the insurance company starting with 'J' who also take FD's ? or was it a subsidiary of 'C' insurance? now thats a real hassle when they dont return on time ,i have to agree its best to stick to established banks
  24. its your wish but dont you think its better to have the car as stock without lowering it? personally i like the present blue color but then again thats my preferance though.
  25. "Komi- superb car mate and a neat job on the carpeting too when i saw the pic i noticed a bit of mud or was a bubbling near the rear mudguard botton area near the muffler, that area is prone to damage due to stone chips take a look and attend to it asap before it becomes big
