Machan actually I'm not saying the car is over-heating. The above mentioned things happen when the engine reach to its normal operating temperature (I mentioned as 'heats up') as opposed to a cold start in the morning. It had logged 164K in Odo. Me too suspect on Rings.

Hi Guys, Since recently I'm facing some issues with my car when the engine heats up to its operating temperature. Car is Lancer CB2 1994 (4G15 Carb engine). when I start the car in the morning it starts up without any issue and engine RPM stays at 1000. But after some driving about 10 mins, following could be noted, 1. When I stop and try to start the engine when it is heated, it starts with difficulty and engine revs slowly around 400 - 500. (without AC). But I don't feel any low pulling power when driving. 2. When heated, it starts to emit smoke but this happens intermittently. (at cold start no smoke) I have replaced all 4 plugs recently but it didn't help. Also engine miss fires a bit in the morning but goes off when engine gets heated. what would be the reason for above? Thanks. PS: Today when I start in the morning it started to emit white smoke after being idle for about 5 mins. I reved the engine a bit and then the smoke turned blue.

My father had this model (1978) couple of years back and it's one hell of a ride. Very solid and I still remember the whisper of the loving Saturn engine. Brings lot of memories.

Hi guys, Just found this link that had a collection of 1992 - 1995 Lancer/Colt manuals. As these are pretty rare to find, thought of posting the link. It has Lancer CA, CB series, Colt manuals as well as service bulletins. You can download it from here. Cheers.

Buying A Lancer Cs Or Nissan March With New Prices
hrm replied to asankabs's question in Car Buying Information
Lancer Cs1/2 is a good choice given it's a sedan with decent fuel figures and looks. didn't know much about AK12. about the odometer reading you may not worry that much if the vehicle is well maintained by the previous owner (you also should) -
Just voted for Japan. They helped automobile technology grow as a mass industry.

Nice to hear that. well that could be a reason too. since I use the car only in weekends and for small distances I don't switch AC on.(especially when I'm the sole occupant)
-
Thank guys for the points. In fact the AC guy asked me of the AC service history and I said for this is the first time I'm having this issue in this car. So then we decided if it goes low again have to check the whole system for leaks. Other thing is when the gas went low the AC clutch kept engaging forever when I put AC on. So I avoided turning AC on until I re gas it today. Now it's ok.
-
I get your point mate. But this is the first time I have done this since the car was bought about 8 months ago. Let's see how its going.
-
Update : I just manage to re gas my AC today. (Until this time I didn't use AC that much). Apparently the AC guy said he could not find any leak in the system by doing an visual inspection so I went for only re gassing. cost 2K and now the issue is solved and compressor started to work as normal. Is it normal to re gas the AC time to time as I haven't done it for past 8 months and doesn't know how previous owner maintained it.

Didn't hear about driver's condition. Only knew that no body was killed. Obviously should be serious
-
correct ! my one being a CB2 (1994) doesn't have air bags.
-
Yes. From the meter panel it seems like a CB series one. in fact the same model I currently have.
-
Got this pics from a friend. Importantly no one has died from this crash.
-
what is the other vehicle involved? a bus? That guy might be doing the same thing to others also. So don't take this one lightly even the damage is small.

Thanks mates !!
