Sometimes these guys just say stuff, how does he know " Amu Petrol Pichchenawa " ? Is there a petrol smell or is he saying off the reading from the test. I am not good at reading these test reports but maybe if you scan it and put it up here some experts maybe able to give a correct diagnosis. If something like that was happening you should have seen a big change in you fuel consumption ( since u got the tune up done 3 weeks before ).

Ever driven a Ashok Layland bus ? its difficult to spot the break lights from that height. So u need to keep a really BIG distance, which is not always as easy as said...

Now thats taking the definition of cruising to a different level....

Hi YALA, I finally ended up getting a set of Maxxis H/T from a shop in Wadduwa ( 235/70R16) , cost me only Rs 17k per tyre, which was pretty low compared to Colombo prices. It was around Rs 1,500/= cheaper, so it was worth the trip. If you want I can pm you the name of the shop. I could not locate A/T for that size so had to go for H/T. Although the A/T looks much nice, just evaluate the number of times you would actually be driving " Off Road ". My guess is 95% or more of the time it will be on a tared road, also the A/T may wear faster on the tarmac than a H/T, just something for u to think about...

A bus is very heavey and its not like they have disc brakes... so it cannot stop immediately. I know u need to keep a fair distance but its not always easy. So if someone suddenly stops in front of u you cannot entirely blame it on the bus driver, although from a purely legal point he is at fault.

You are right its definitely the fault of undisciplined people. But there is a definite increase in the average speed of driving due to the good roads. I have personally experienced this as now my commute to work takes a lot less time.

As crazy as it sounds one of the reasons for the increased level of accidents is the newly done up roads. People always tend to speed, as vehicles move much better and faster on roads than they would in a road full of pot holes....

I think your car is doing great on fuel, dont worry too much on the petrol, and enjoy the drive. Its not a good situation to be in if u are constantly thinking of the money getting burnt every time u step on the accelerator... Since its a Honda, I would say Stafford for basic stuff like service, engine tune up...

Guys... first of all lets get the name right.. its Chevrolet, not Chavelot !!. Although MAG City are the agents they may not carry parts for this since this is not a model sold by them. Even so there is no point getting a brand new bonnet. Best place is to do a walk around Delkanda. Check Power Auto Lamps, few other places....

Is it worth to do a dyno check to see such a small increase if any in bhp ? How much does it cost for a Dyno runs ? I think it was over Rs 10k, not quite sure though.....

What about Alto ? Its much nicer looking than all the 3 u have mentioned.... Nothing much to worry about also.

The factory air intake is placed in such a way that it avoids water and other unwanted stuff getting in to the system. Also if u keep the stock filter, doing this will not do much of a difference . Best is just to fix a K&N filter for your existing box ( Search the site if they have that for your car ) , will give you a small increase in power but u will not notice any fuel saving. Unless u are a major performance enthusiast I would not recommend the cone filter, as its exposed inside the engine bay, all the fans working create a lot of dust and oil residue, so the filter will get dirty quickly. Also during servicing u need to cover it up ( I think). Also u keep to keep in mind that the K&N will NOT filter as well as the original one, although claimed by them. If this was the case all cars would make this as the stock filter.

Should be still between 3 to 3.5, depending on millage, condition, nos of owners. Few luxuries may not be there Vs a Vitara, like sun roof, leather seats, but u might get stuff like heated seats, which is good if you live in Nuwara Eliya.

There is no 1 ltr bottle of Gal only 750 ml. So thats close to 200ml per day ( 8 shots or 4 doubles ).
