  1. Wow.. guess there is nothing called a stupid idea... a couple of years too late maybe... Thanks a lot for the links and the info guys, I think what I was trying to get at was " magnetic Levitation " using electromagnets. 581 kmpl !! thats insane speed....
  2. CARBON B4

    Front Grill

Cutting and fixing the mesh maybe a cheaper option, as long as they do it neatly is ok. If u paint it a nice matte black , it will look good. Gives any car a more sporty look....
  3. Guys.... this obviously sounds stupid but just some random crazy thought that came to my mind having read this thread... Ok, now this entire requirement of power to move a car from stationary position is due to the gravitational force .. right ? so lets say we put a car on rails and negatively charge the steel rails with electricity and do the same for the wheels ( possibly rims) that would rest on the rails. Thereby can we eliminate or reduce the G forces acting on the car ? If this can be done with very little power u would be able to move the vehicle right ? Its kind of like what the Hovercraft is doing by traveling on a air cushion, but here it will be on rails with magnetic forces acting as the virtual cushion... ?
  4. Nice,..... but think u need to put this type of stuff on that " post whore " thread.....
  5. Channa Buddy Van Vs Grand Vitara 2L Turbo diesel ?
  6. Ah.. talking about the dead guy again... The B4 can take 95 fairly well so its not necessary to use Octane booster, thats why I am trying to tell the OP he needs to just forget the whole kmpl numbers.
  7. From Colombo u pass the Kelani bridge and from Peliyagoda side you come on the Biyagama road. When u are heading towards Biyagama this place is on your right. Its not very far, but the road is under construction or something and pretty bad. I am not too familiar with the specific name of those but they were big, . There was also a Jeep, with the star, which was used in WW 1 or 2.
  8. I get very close to 6 kmpl ( tiptronic) , a manual TT will do better. But you just need to forget about the fuel economy. I burn close to 300 lts of 95 oct, fuel per month. I was using the wurth octain booster on top of it, but had to give up due to the fuel increase. There is a big price difference between M/T and Tiptronic, at least a gap of Rs 200 or Rs 300k , but its still worth it since you get 15bhp more + will do better on fuel, which will pay back for that extra amount u spend.
  9. Well, you have come to the right place..... but before you buy please go through the Subaru section as you will find a lot of info. And if you are still willing to go ahead with it all the best. I have given a few brief answers to what you have mentioned. ) Is the B4 TT tiptronic a good car?? Yes 2) The blue car put up for sale today.. Anybody know the history of this car?? I have no idea who owns that car, but best is you call up the guy and ask him who maintains it, and you can speak to them directly. 3) What;s the going price of such cars?? Anything between 2 to 2.5, 4) Anybody know of a B4 TT manual for sale?? If so, how much would it approx cost?? Few vehicles, but not impossible to find.
  10. Now that's an interesting ride...... yeee haww.... Blue jeans, white t-shirt, no bra, very nice I must say There is this place in Kelaniya, close to Pethiyagoda, if I am not mistaken a service station/garage on the Kaduwela road. I saw some big bad ass American trucks , parked there. They seem to be in pretty good shape...
  11. mmm..... including a very sad looking white Legacy.....
  12. I think that means durable.... its a simple car so the things can go wrong are also less..
  13. We have a Toyota DX wagon in the family, still going very strong. Great on fuel too. The A/C does not work well. Whats the going price of one these days ?
  14. Yes, its a pretty big garage..... the owner guy checks out every car himself and he seems to put a lot of effort in to it. I have only taken a Swift for a suspension repair, but I cannot remember them being very expensive... Although I have seen some big fancy SUVs there
  15. I doubt flushing the system will fix it. If there is a block, it should be there all the time, which is no the case. Since this happens only at high speeds the belt maybe slipping or issue with the water pump. Doubt the issue is with the fan as there is plenty of blowing on the e01 Laughs guys will not be able to help... best would be some small garage since u don't want to go with the agents, there is a place in Madiwela, the guy is very good. Its between kotte and the parliament, somewhere close to that Bird park on the Madiwela road.
  16. Yes.. he definitely got his hands on something.... and he is interested in a lot of other weird kinky stuff.....
  17. Happy Birthday dude.... !!!
  18. Thats right, the basic exchange control principle is that no money cannot go out of the country without the country receiving anything in return to that value. So what ever way you try to overcome its its still going to be illegal if it exceeds the value given by central bank.
  19. Good choice, I think you are referring to Prim*l ? If so they have a monopoly in the local glass business, but guys seem to be hit big time with the oil price increase. But now its more cheaper to import from China or India directly, so in a few years time their numbers are not going to look that good. Already a few big guys are looking at alternate sourcing options, so in my view not the best long term investment.
  20. +1 , very well said.... unfortunately few of the guys on this forum are not mature enough to understand what you are trying to say. Now having read some of those pms of Silvi, I just edited what I was going to say....... this is simply hilarious...... soooo jobless at work to day.... whats that term now... LMFAO or LMAF ??? , not quite sure but I am definitely laughing my ass off here.....
  21. So what happened on the second day ? was the same lawyer there and did u get the licence back. The same think has happened to a lady I know and the pedestrian had been on the other side of the road, not even on the side where this lady was driving. But still the cop had fined
  22. At least you are quite honest.... Rs 900k is quite cheap. Since you ask I paid Rs 2.2 Mn for the car, almost 4 years ago Getting back to the express way ..... I noticed there are no stray dogs and the fence was done up very well. Even small opening in the fence was blocked by stones and stuff. So it seems like the authorities have taken some action on this.
  23. Its like this... our car market is totally dependent on the import duty. And a guy selling a vehicle on the second hand market always finds it a little difficult simply cos there is too much supply. So invariably there is competition leading to reduction in price. Now the most govt permits guys bought the Deisel Montero sport, as this is where they would get the biggest saving in duty for their permit. Now since the 3 years is up these cars are on the market along with the Hyndai Santafe and maybe next year a LOT of Sorentos.... The Montero Sport is made in Japan and the new one is not. So you could say it has the better build quality than anything else. Also its a pretty basic vehicle with M/T so in terms of reliability this should be still the better option..
  24. Machang..... now seriously look at yourself. How old are u ? almost going to hit the norty forties but u still want to act childish..... You are the guy who called all the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid owners cheapskates, in the Hybrid thread.... but can I just ask u how much YOU paid for that Alfa ? ouch...... I know it hurts when reality bites you in the as* . When u point a finger at someone .. remember there are 3 fingers pointing right back at you my friend.... Btw don't have anything against gay people, but I just hate arrogant bast*rds weather they are gay, transgender, straight or bi-sexual.....
