Most of companies use panels and inverters assembled in China with "German technology". Other companies use Chinese branded products with low cost. Very few reputed companies use genuine German, Norwegian brands and obviously those products are expensive.

Yes, it's part of "Surya Bala Sangramaya" thing, But my idea is to add an air conditioner with 2kw system and to earn by selling additional power to CEB by so called Net Accounting system. I found one of news paper article after reading your warning about pending payments. http://www.sundaytimes.lk/170423/business-times/ceb-delays-payments-for-solar-power-net-accounting-customers-237618.html Thanks.

Guys, Thought of bringing this old thread out of coffin to know the current situation as I'm planning to install a 2kw Grid connected Solar system on my roof. Few companies were checked and i confused bit about the total cost, durability of panels and longevity of the companies. Therefore I decided get updates from you guys as always there should be someone with solar panel experience here for long. So share your experience here to learn more before installation. Thanks.

Yes I agree. I had to pay 3000+ RS as VAT of their last service call. Micro uses Motul as engine oil and charges 10000+ Rs for 4ltrs! But can be used to run 10000km. First three services are free of labour cost and then I shifted to one of their authorised service station. Rest of the parts are not so expensive.

I'm using a Ssangyong Tivoli assembled by Micro. It would be a good choice if you are interested. But it's a crossover with reasonable fuel economy. I achieved 14~15 km/l on long run. Comfortable as a crossover and spacious. It comes with 3 yrs warranty.

Old Thread. Help with this ; -
Great simple DIY project. Thanks for sharing. Inserting a L or U type piece of PET might be more stronger and durable if the space permits, just an idea!

Honda Fit GP 1 was sold last December and bought this Ssangyong Tivoli crossover assembled by Micro in this January. It's equipped with 1.6 petrol engine and Japanese Aisin automatic gearbox. 250km drove within last couple of days and happy about the car! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9My6BDnDmC3RWJGNDhGUjM0Y2s/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9My6BDnDmC3MnN4anJEWkZ0TUk/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9My6BDnDmC3bDdTaEhYQ2FVUFU/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9My6BDnDmC3Mmt1SVprMU0zX00/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9My6BDnDmC3MjhSVWZreDZvOXM/view?usp=sharing

This is so called typical Sri Lankan Mentality. Have you ever witnessed a mudalali or politician driving a CR-V or a CX 5? We as Sri Lankans are reluctant to change our mind set. But definitely No doubt about Toyota reliability, but progressing with another brand like Honda or Mazda has the same final effect. Buy for lesser and at end sale for lesser. Fuel consumption wise not all the Toyota models do wonders. Savings from buying can effectively use to cover fuel bill on other brands on long run. Importantly can find a newer car for the same price tag with more bells and whistles!

How does this effect on assembled vehicles, such as Micro cars here?
