  1. Hi, I got the device just on today. Same as Ramish, the picture quality is nowhere close to what that Arun posted. I couldnot even recognize the number plate of vechicles. Guys, whats going on here..... Further, the angle adjusting screw of the camera holder was too tightened when it came. My attempt to loose it broke the handle, damn it..... What should i do now???
  2. Rover ÃÂ Don't trust what sales guys say. It is certain that your vehicle has a DPF unit. I would Get it removed at Micro in the next Service. ÃÂ Actually, they are not removing entire DPF but make some openings in the DPF allowing free flow of exahust. Then of course the DPF act as a catalytic coverter.
  3. Quote from - Rover posted elswhere "Does your Korando has a DPF? I'm 90% sure that my vehicle has it but when I asked from the sales guy at Ideal when taking the delivery he said it's only for euro models. Also did you recieve conditions of warranty from the agents? The guy promised to email me the conditions of warranty but even after several reminders still no any action. Did you face any problems with the vehicle so far and any thing else that I should know about?" I bought my korando (micro) in 2012, at that stage the vehicle came with a DPF. However, Micro has got some complaints about unsuitability of this system for our conditions they removed this system for free of charge. I got it changed after 1 year usage of the vehicle. It seems you have bought a Korando which is directly imported from Korea (not an assembled one by micro) and I have heard that in newer imports don't contain a DPF. However, if this bothers you following are the few checks you can do: 1. If the vehicle is equipped with a DPF, you get very cleaned muffler tip, just like a Petrol Car. If you notice some carbon deposits on the muffler tip, definitely the DPF has been removed 2. Once you open the bonnet cover. On your right hand side, just above the diesel filter you would be able to see "differential pressure sensor, Brand-Bosch, Made in Germany" if DPF is present. it is a rectangular (3x2 cm) part connects to the engine and thermo couplers coming from the DPF barrel. The absence of this means there is no DPF. I received conditions of the warranty, if you need a copy pls let me know. But, guys at Micro are quite flexible and you can get done things pretty easily. I could remember the they replaced the silencer barrel which came with the vehicle (that made in Sri Lanka by micro) with an original one from Korea upon my request. so far I have done 21000 km, once i experienced a small jerk in the shifting of gear, but service guys fixed it by updating the software of ECU. Other than that no issues. I used super diesel throughout. hope, this information helpful.
  4. Hey Watchman,,, Don't be rude as such.................. Rover....I am posting my feedback on the relevant thread as it may help to others too............
  5. I am using a Korando for 1 yr 8 months.....
  6. Congratulations with your purchase. I have good experiences with Saangyong (so-far) though to history of the comments in Auto-lanka does not sound good. I used Superdiesel throughout. One place in Pannipitiya is calling them as SSangyong Specialists. Though i have not been there, you may try out this place for minor repairs and services. Please get the drive belt checked as my brother had a very bad experience with the sudden breakage of the drive belt. Get the filters of the vacuum modulator changed at every service.
  7. I am just wondering, would this kind of gadgets withstand the heat build up in the cabin when parking direct under sun!!!1. I have heard that the suction cup need to be changed time to time, is this true?
  8. Me too, lets see how would be the consistency of product quality....
  9. Thanks for information. How much Tax you had to pay?. I am also interested
  10. Thanks for sharing your experience. I came to know that the engine stop and start function of honda hybrids require a thinner oil to minimize wear and tier of engine components. That is why honda recommends 20. I actually don't know the truth of this fact.....Probably, experts may comment on this
  11. I agree with Don. The running temperature should be more or less similar under different levels of atmospheric temperatures.
  12. Thanks, I referred the US user manual of Insight. It says "A very low-viscosity, fuel-efficient 0W-20 oil is the engine lubricant for your Insight. This oil is formulated to help your engine use less fuel" So, I thought this is something to do with the engine that Honda has used for the Hybrid...
  13. Dear All, First Service for my Fit Hybrid was due on Yesterday. After draining the oil, I came to know that Auxx Mirax in Gampola has got only toyota 5W-30. As per the user manual, Fit requires 0W-20. I tried to find out the same around gampola but failed. It was available only with Toyota Lanka Kandy, but it was too late to go to kandy. Finally, I had to opt for 5W-30, till the next service. Its pity that Au Mi people keep on saying they use 5w-30 for fit hybrid. Do you have any idea about the oil used by Stafford for fit hybrid? My Concerns are: - What will be the consequence of using 30 instead of 20 - In the next service, it is okay to directly shift to 20 (do we need any flushing of oil) Your expert comments are highly welcomed.
  14. Dear All, I found that the original mileage of a second handed vehicle can be checked if the inspection has been done by JEVIC. Simply go to the Jevic website and request for on-line verification of odometer reading. http://www.jevic.com/jevic-initiatives/e-certificates/ I hope the certification agency is trustworthy!!!!!
  15. Some pics of the restoration work of our land rover.... Year of manufacture: 1987
  16. Best option is to buy a phone imported from the agent....Hope, agents (like JK) would not import a fake one and sell.....
  17. Xbeat, Could you explain how to test protective earthing resistance!!!!
  18. Yes, bought those separately. Main unit -20,000 Rs Door sensor:1200 motion sensor:2200 Brand Shike
  19. Yes, I highly doubt about the warranty they are offering. However, they have indicated about the warranty in the invoice. I had to depend on 1st cross street vendors since i was not aware about other places in Colombo who sell burglar alarms. Actually, it was not a pleasant experience for me to spend hard earned money to buy a doubtful product, but i had no other choices. the Alarm came with a two pin plug top, not designed to connect an earth wire!!!!!
  20. I thought, this "Made in Korea" phone is a fake product. I can't believe a reputed company produces inferior quality product for the Domestic Market!!! Moreover, I would rather expect Korean language on the phone specifications sticker rather than English.
  21. Thanks all, Finally settled with a reasonable Burglar Alarm Systems with GSM alarm facility. Later, i can go for a CCTV system. What I noticed was, most of the people who advertise in the H**A** are fully dependent on supplies from 1st cross street and they keep around Rs. 20000 of profit. So, I bought the system from 1st cross street and fixed it by myself.
  22. Thanks, Kush and Nirosha for your advices
  23. Guys, I thought of installing a surveillance camera system for my house (around 6 cameras needed). The companies installing such systems quoted an unacceptable charge (200000 Rs), thus thought of installing the system by myself. Thankful, if you could share your experiences, on followings: 1. Selection of cameras (suitable type for range 6000 -8000 rs, what are the specifications i should look for) 2. Selection of DVR (expecting to hook to a wireless router for on-line surveillance) 3. Good Alarm system to couple (with the SMS facility) 4. Reasonable and trustworthy places in Colombo for shopping (I am not from Colombo) 5. Any other considerations. Many thanks
  24. Thought of invoking this thread to share my experiences with some of cool anroid apps: Meeting Profile - Handy app to put the phone to one beep + Vibrator mode (meeting mode) just in one touch Sim Selector - Great tool to manage the usage of the DualSim
  25. I also don't think this is a legal requirement. If so, it should be clearly indicated in the Revenue Licence. In Sri Lanka, there are lots of such so called "undefined legal laws".
