I have always been a big fanboy of the RX7 and RX8..im mainly looking to purchase it for the love i have for the car, i own two other vehicles which i can afford to maintain but yea..it wont hurt get to get an idea a deeper insight on this car , right ?i just wanna know what im getting myself into as i have very little knowledge of it.

Im looking for an insight of the RX8 and it's fuel consumption, I already know what to expect from a sports car but i m asking here to get a better idea from those who know about this car. 1. around how many KMs does it do per L in and out of cities? 2. Whats the current price of this car ? (2nd hand) 3. ive heard the RX8 rotary engine gets problems after 40k miles or so, is that true? Any answers appreciated. ty

thanks for the reply machan. one of my friends own a 2007 rx8 , 1300cc aswell, he says its pretty bad on fuel consumption. i dont know what exactly he meant by bad, but im guessing its lower than 10-12 km/l range ?

whats the fuel consumption of a 2004 rx8 with 1300 cc engine ?

SLT and Dialog 4G LTE seem to be the best two options right now. I'm using the web pro package of SLT, getting full bandwidth of 8mb DL 1mb up, can't say the line is stable though,having frequent disconnections here and there, all because of the faulty equipment that is in the exchange 1km from my house. Also, SLT has to be up there for having the worst customer service in any country. I dont know what kind of people work in the customer service, some of these women who answer to the 1212 hotline don't even know terms like "bandwidth" and "routing". Their solution to all internet problems is "sir please turn off the router, wait 30 seconds and turn it on, and call us again, suba dawasak!" All in all, if you guys have 4G LTE coverage in your area, get it, dont ever go for SLT, who have been lying to customers over and over while providing shit service.

Took the bug out for a spin, experienced a lot fo misfiring, not sure if its because car is almost out of fuel or what. no problem with the spark plugs, all of them were replaced. Misfiring is similar to this (NOTE - this is not my car) i can upload a vid of the car idling if necessary. how can i fix this problem? any help is appreciated ..

Why is that people replace engines in cortinas ? >.< i saw another advert on the same website of a cortina, it had a mazda EFI 2000cc engine.

(its from another car sale website so i cant link it here, here is a pic) Called the owner, the guy has replaced the engine and its diesel converted. Is it worth it for the price of 4.5 laks? Its been on sale for 2 months now, people on classic car discussion groups are talking about this car aswell, seems as if the owner is a complete douchebag who has little respect for the vehicle (call him and hear the way he talks) I hope it ends up in good hands..

Any update Hoonigan ? I'm interested in a Ford Capri as well, i found one dumped in an abandoned garage thanks to a bit of help from a friend. Its beyond restoration IMO, owner is in Italy he is coming to sri lanka soon, i wonder what he says to say for throwing away this car 1. im wondering if its worth all the trouble to restore it ? 2. how much did you buy your capri for, Hoonigan? Thanks for the replies guys.. I recorded a short video of the sound because I'm still not 100% sure about it.. Maybe I'm too obsessed with having everything original with this car.. i just want to be sure theres no problem with it before i can take it out on the roads. edit - link removed

sorry to bump this old thread but anyone ever found out what this old dodge car was? I think i saw the exact same the car you guys are talking about near Maj city, couldnt see the exact model but it had tail lights similar to that of a 68 charger. Surely it cant be a charger, too good to be true!!

Hey guys, sorry to be bumping this old thread but I have a question to ask. I own a 1967 Volkswagen beetle and my car has this consistant "whisling" sound from the exhaust, almost similar to a kettle's whisle when its boiling water. What could be the cause of this? I checked many youtube videos and in every video i saw of 67 beetles, the sound is a lot different from the exhaust and there is no "whisle" sound. a lot of people commented that that sound is not normal for a beetle when i asked, then again I thought it cant be because when i took the car to the garage i was told that the noise is perfectly normal and its the "unique" beetle exhaust sound. i have heard the same whisling sound from other beetles aswell, can someone tell if this is a common problem in Sri lankan beetles ? or theres a problem with the engine?

yeah man its too much trouble, i think im going to pass on that. id rather spend a few laks more and buy a celica in its original body condition i have a relative abroad who can send me the needed parts for this car, my goal is to find a celica and restore it to something like this

i saw this car on sale, called the owner, he said the previous owner has riced the hell out of it such a shame one should ruin a classic like that, well, only in Sri Lanka lol

Any info on anyone who owns a Celica between these years/ or if anyone is selling please let me know.

thanks Crosswind yes i saw saw Supra_Natural's thread about VW beetles. this car has been maintained well, it was registered in 1978, previously owned by 2 doctors. the car runs smoothly, i took it for a test run and i was surprised how smoothly it ran compared to all other beetles i checked out before.

update so due to some financial issues we reduced had to reduce the budget bought this 1966 vw beetle today. its in excellent condition..doesnt look that great in the photos because it hasnt been washed lately i know some of you might laugh at me for talking about starlets, corolla 2, etc and ending up buying this but which isnt all that great as i hear it terms of fuel efficiency. anyway, i have no regrets! thanks for all the replies everyone, mods you may close the topic
